On July 6th, 2009 at 2:15 pm, Ron said:

In a perfect world, we’d be able to vote for someone besides Cornyn next time —

In a perfect world, the 17th amendment wouldn't have passed. In a perfect world, the 17th amendment would be repealed and the state legislators would choose the state's representatives, i.e. senators, just the way it the founders intended.

I felt betrayed by Cornyn when he voted for Timmy Geithner, and let him know about it. But do not be fooled by his opponent, Rick Noriega, who has just become a community organizer. When it became apparent that the Obama campaign had removed all fraud protection from their donation website, and enabled anyone with any sort of card (including a JC Penney gift card) to donate anonymously, I heard that many Dem websites were also allowing fraudulent donations. So, I tried to donate to McCain and Cornyn using a fraudulent name, to no avail. But Noriega? Noooo problemo! I still get email from ActBlue addressed to Raggedy Ann.

Don't mindlessly throw the bums out, or vote against Cornyn just to punish him. You may get the next Obama. Look at what the idiots in Minnesota have done to the country by giving us the gift of Stuart Smalley! Instead of commenting on blogs all the time, email your RINO and beat on him or her (verbally) until s/he gets the point! The thing about Republicans in general (except for Snowe, Collins and Specter) is that they usually have consciences. Let them know directly, by tartly worded emails and phone calls, that you're pissed and getting ready to kick butts and take names. But don't elect a Noriega, a Franken, or something worse (in the case of Franken, we might have found the worst, though).

And call Cornyn at the NRSC, 202.675.6000, and tell him to stay the frack away from endorsements in the primaries.

I will repeat my thoughts from the Dallas TP thread:

I do not trust any current members of the establishment. They had their chances and blew it badly. Now, they (Dick Armey and others like Cornyn and Fred Thompson) want to latch onto our coat-tails. Screw-em!!! We need to find fresh voices and the faces to match. Those who are not tainted by the stench from inside the D.C. beltway. We can bring about real change by getting back control of the system and electing strict constitutionalists who get it concerning limited federal power and state's rights. This is not a difficult concept.

#39

Tea Parties are about the people speaking; that's the time for politicians to listen. Sorry but there is no problem with boos; people need to stop wearing their feelings on their sleeves. Just because Cornyn has a 92% ACU so what? Wrong is wrong, and voting for TARP was wrong. When politicians can't get the easy was ones right, why should we trust them with the hard problems. Give me a break.

The people may not like the fact that Cornyn voted for TARP... but regardless, that was the worst crowd I have ever seen.. Talk about rude Are you sure they aren't all Democrats? Sure sounded like it.

What ever happened to the right to be heard. Was Cornyn invited to speak? Then let him say his piece. If you don't like it leave.

Cornyn has a 92 percent ACU rating. That is not exactly RINO territory.

Cornyn is the very reason we need state governments to regain their control. We don't need secession, we need state governments with some balls! Those who go to DC, begin to act like they are from DC, Senators especially, which I always claim are the lowest form of all political life.

Cornyn isn't a bad guy as far as DC politicians go, he is just a Senator. Don't expect crap to smell any better if you throw it in bed of flowers, but don't expect it to be any different the opposite way. You put flowers on a pile of dung and they will eventually smell like the dung too, even if they still look kind of pretty for awhile.

And you republicans still expecting some miraculous resurrection of the GOP without actually busting down their door and throwing the bums out are gluttons for punishment.
