Al Gore: If you question global warming cult, you’re a Nazi
More hot air from ManBearPig, via the Times of London, who fashions himself Winston Churchill in a green cape:
Al Gore today compared the battle against climate change with the struggle against the Nazis.
The former US Vice President said the world lacked the political will to act and invoked the spirit of Winston Churchill by encouraging leaders to unite their nations to fight climate change. He also accused politicians around the world of exploiting ignorance about the dangers of global warming to avoid difficult decisions. Speaking in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by The Times, Mr Gore said: “Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilisation in World War II.”
He added: “We have everything we need except political will but political will is a renewable resource.”
Mr Gore admitted that it was difficult to persuade the public that the threat from climate change was as urgent as the threat from Nazi Germany.
“The level of awareness and concern among populations has not crossed the threshold where political leaders feel that they must change.
“The only way politicians will act is if awareness raises to a level to make them feel that it’s a necessity.

If you actually listen to Gore and who he speaks to, all he has done is taken the schtik used by the Justice Brothers (Jackson and Sharpton) to demagogue on climate change instead of race.
Look at his business investments and his association with certain corporations. He has positioned himself to make hundreds of millions of dollars, if he can buldgeon this through.
He is nothing more than a 21st Century snake oil salesman. GE is similarly positioned. That’s why they are Obama’s biggest fan and use MSNBC and NBC to be stooges for The One.

Savaranola: Monk and persecutor of Renaissance Florence who notably burned books declaring them unworthy. Tetzel: Friar who sold indulgences providing buyers salvation of their souls. This was of many reasons Martin Luther wrote his 95 theses bringing about the Reformation. Torquemada: Grand Inquisitor who brought about terror amongst Jews and Muslims who did not convert to Christianity.

There is no reason for this unequal treatment except for the fact that GE is a well connected contributor to the party in charge, both in money and in free propaganda on their NBC and MSNBC stations. Is this not a model for what we can expect from Cap and Trade?
This will always be the problem with idiots who think that they are debating an issue like this. They view terms like “fascist” and “Nazi” analogous with “conservative” and “Republican,” even though they are utterly incapable of defining any of those terms using proper analysis and historical perspective.
Therefore, it becomes nonsensical to them when “fascist” can properly be used to describe the idiot’s political heroes, when it is something he has incorrectly applied to those who are his “ideological enemies.” It is a complete surprise to the drone-like lgm when fascist and Nazi policies are explained to be better compared with those of today’s utterly radicalized Democrat Party, but yet will never ever be able to fully grasp any of it, because he’s been indoctrinated to respond in knee-jerk fashion to what his “ideological enemies” are saying.

With Al Gore it all boils down to power, money, and especially history. He found something to put himself in the limelight and news, since he can’t make it in politics and office. Here it is, 10:00 am in central Virginia, on 8th July. The temp right now is 75 with a high expected today around 83. Usually this time of year at this time of day, the temps would already be in the mid-80′s and climbing to the mid to upper 90′s. But we’re having a cool summer and for that I am thankful. I guess GW and climate change is causing that too.

Um, actually the writers of the original post said exactly what you said yesterday, LGM, that AlGore was comparing the urgency with which he feels we must take action. While I disagree with him, I do agree that that is what he was saying.
Which leads me to:
MM didn’t get it wrong. In fact, looking at the original post, she simply conveyed the story from the original source, which said exactly what you said. Ergo, I think you might be mis-interpreting what has been said by the hostess.
Now the commenters, you must understand that we kind of do feel treated like we are living in an environment where some elitist maroon is trying to tell us all what to do, so many of the comments I’ve seen here are in keeping with that spirit.
