Al Gore: If you question global warming cult, you’re a Nazi

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 7, 2009 01:31 PM

More hot air from ManBearPig, via the Times of London, who fashions himself Winston Churchill in a green cape:

Al Gore today compared the battle against climate change with the struggle against the Nazis.

The former US Vice President said the world lacked the political will to act and invoked the spirit of Winston Churchill by encouraging leaders to unite their nations to fight climate change. He also accused politicians around the world of exploiting ignorance about the dangers of global warming to avoid difficult decisions. Speaking in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by The Times, Mr Gore said: “Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilisation in World War II.”

He added: “We have everything we need except political will but political will is a renewable resource.”

Mr Gore admitted that it was difficult to persuade the public that the threat from climate change was as urgent as the threat from Nazi Germany.

“The level of awareness and concern among populations has not crossed the threshold where political leaders feel that they must change.

“The only way politicians will act is if awareness raises to a level to make them feel that it’s a necessity.

If you actually listen to Gore and who he speaks to, all he has done is taken the schtik used by the Justice Brothers (Jackson and Sharpton) to demagogue on climate change instead of race.

Look at his business investments and his association with certain corporations. He has positioned himself to make hundreds of millions of dollars, if he can buldgeon this through.

He is nothing more than a 21st Century snake oil salesman. GE is similarly positioned. That’s why they are Obama’s biggest fan and use MSNBC and NBC to be stooges for The One.

You would benefit from actually reading the book and seeing how modern liberalism and progessivism have their roots in fascism. Interestingly, the book is filled with footnoted examples of the pillars of American liberalism spouting fascist ideals and pursuing them in real world.

As a liberal you should know your “family” history and be proud of it. Fascist.

Hyperbole. Control freaks are a sorry lot. And this man uses fear, a primal emotion, to sway the masses. Honestly this guy thinks he is Churchill but I could think of more appropriate historical figures. Savaranola: Monk and persecutor of Renaissance Florence who notably burned books declaring them unworthy. Tetzel: Friar who sold indulgences providing buyers salvation of their souls. This was of many reasons Martin Luther wrote his 95 theses bringing about the Reformation. Torquemada: Grand Inquisitor who brought about terror amongst Jews and Muslims who did not convert to Christianity.

Hyperbole on my part? You bet. However I did not pick these three examples randomly. Gore just like Savaranola will have nothing to do with contradictory evidence labeling it corrupted. Gore just like Tetzel will absolve you of your carbon footprint (sins) if you buy carbon credits. Gore just like Torquemada is on a campaign of bringing you to his beliefs by force, if necessary.

And how much temperature drop do we get for each trillion in new taxes?

According to Rich Lowry at National Review Online, this is the most we can expect after a hundred years of Cap and Taxes:

Even if Waxman-Markey were perfectly formulated, it would reduce global surface temperatures by only one-tenth of 1 degree Celsius in 100 years.

Cap and Trade is a power grab under the cloak of environmentalism. They don’t really care about saving the world from climate change. What they care about is having the power to control the economy so they can determine who lives and who dies. They can then use this power to extort political contributions for their own benefit.

Cap and Trade allows the government to favor industries they like with subsidies from carbon offsets. Others, who pay full price, will not be able to compete. They claim this is necessary to replace coal and other fossil fuels with more expensive “green” energy. But, in reality, there will be too much temptation to use carbon credits as a political tool. Companies who give enough donations to the party in charge will get subsidies, regardless of how much CO2 they put out. Those who don’t play along will have to pay the highest price for carbon offsets.

This is already happening with ethanol. Research has shown that producing and burning ethanol creats more CO2 than gasoline. But they get special exemptions in the new bill because of politics.

We are also seeing this with the bailout. The rules were changed at the last minute to allow GE to qualify for bailout funds because they own a small comercial lending enterprise in Utah. Once they got their foot in the door, GE went from barely qualifying to becoming the largest recipient of such funds. And because competitors were denied the same treatment, GE is at a huge advantage. There is no reason for this unequal treatment except for the fact that GE is a well connected contributor to the party in charge, both in money and in free propaganda on their NBC and MSNBC stations. Is this not a model for what we can expect from Cap and Trade?

    FASCIST!

Which is totally appropriate. Look up “fascist economics”. What you will see is EXACTLY what we have under Obama, and what has been creeping into American life for decades under both Parties.

This will always be the problem with idiots who think that they are debating an issue like this. They view terms like “fascist” and “Nazi” analogous with “conservative” and “Republican,” even though they are utterly incapable of defining any of those terms using proper analysis and historical perspective.

Therefore, it becomes nonsensical to them when “fascist” can properly be used to describe the idiot’s political heroes, when it is something he has incorrectly applied to those who are his “ideological enemies.” It is a complete surprise to the drone-like lgm when fascist and Nazi policies are explained to be better compared with those of today’s utterly radicalized Democrat Party, but yet will never ever be able to fully grasp any of it, because he’s been indoctrinated to respond in knee-jerk fashion to what his “ideological enemies” are saying.

The shame of it all is the fact that the majority of the Republican Party is incapable of fighting against the tyranny that rules in Washington, DC, offering instead a tyranny that is just not as hard and brutal as what the Dems are demanding. So while idiots like lgm will spout about how evil and fascist-like republicans are, in reality those who run the GOP are far closer to who THEY are than a true conservative Republican mind, such as with Ronald Reagan. It’s just that lgm simply can’t help himself. A supposed “enemy” is an enemy, even when they have laid down their arms, become prostrate, and have made eunuchs out of themselves.

Better yet, lgm use that quarter to call someone who gives a cr@p about your alleged global warming/climate change, whatever!

It isn’t happening no matter how shrill you, AlDoofus or any other alarmists squeal!

Hey, being Nazi-like might be a good thing.

For one: Obama is willing to negotiate with horrible regimes; with regular citizens, he lays down the law.

That is the way to do it isn’t it? Attack the guy who cannot fight back while appeasing the bully who will so you do not get hit?

It has been the coward’s way for centuries. Nothing has changed.

I’d say the only Nazis in the news are Al Gore and his GW minions. They’ve shut down debate because the science is “settled”. Unfortunately,, our leaders have signed on to the GW scam and we’re all going to be forced at gun point to pay for it and completely rearrange our lives. So who is the Nazi, Al?

Here it is, 10:00 am in central Virginia, on 8th July. The temp right now is 75 with a high expected today around 83. Usually this time of year at this time of day, the temps would already be in the mid-80′s and climbing to the mid to upper 90′s. But we’re having a cool summer and for that I am thankful. I guess GW and climate change is causing that too.

So, someone here does know right from wrong, Chamberlain from Hitler. You just don’t care when it’s MM and the noise machine in the wrong. Whatever they say is fine with you. It doesn’t need to be true, it just needs to “ring true” (i.e. be fun to say).

lgm: When will you start acknowledging the following wrongs?

    # 1) Global warming is “settled”,
    # 2) The POTUS plans for this country are good,
    # 3) We can spend all the money we want fixing the world’s problems,
    # 4) through # a trillion (POTUS’ favorite number — please nobody tell him what comes AFTER a trillion!)

Whoever wrote the original post, and the commenters here, are just plain stupid. I’m talking low reading comprehension. Al Gore says denying the danger of global warming is like denying the danger of Hitler. The people who denied the danger of Hitler were the likes of Chamberlain. He’s comparing Inhofe etc. to Chamberlain. However you feel about Al Gore or global warming, he said one thing and not the other.

Um, actually the writers of the original post said exactly what you said yesterday, LGM, that AlGore was comparing the urgency with which he feels we must take action. While I disagree with him, I do agree that that is what he was saying.

    Which leads me to:

So, someone here does know right from wrong, Chamberlain from Hitler. You just don’t care when it’s MM and the noise machine in the wrong. Whatever they say is fine with you.

MM didn’t get it wrong. In fact, looking at the original post, she simply conveyed the story from the original source, which said exactly what you said. Ergo, I think you might be mis-interpreting what has been said by the hostess.

Now the commenters, you must understand that we kind of do feel treated like we are living in an environment where some elitist maroon is trying to tell us all what to do, so many of the comments I’ve seen here are in keeping with that spirit. You may disagree with them, and some of them may even be wrong, but they are simply venting a truth: AlGore thinks he knows better than everyone else.

The fact remains that Al Gore was comparing AGW to the Nazis.

    The Nazis existed. AGW doesn’t.

Of course, when you surround yourself with sycophants, you start talking to everyone else the same way as you do them.

“Ring True”? Pull your head out of what ever hole you’ve stuffed it in. The Earth is currently cooling at the rate of 6 degrees Celsius per century and you’re babbling global warming and see nothing wrong with God Jr. destroying the nation based on junk science.

We’re discussing the lunatic rantings of a proven liar and profiteer you can only prove you don’t know the difference between reality and an SNL skit.

I offer well thought out opinion and actual fact and you respond with the same bumpersticker jingoism that currently put the most corrupt and incompetent administration and congress in office. Then you project your cognitive short comings on to us, the only people capable and willing to correct the mess you people put this country in.

And to think I served for 20 years to protect such nonsense.
