Al Gore: If you question global warming cult, you’re a Nazi

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 7, 2009 01:31 PM

More hot air from ManBearPig, via the Times of London, who fashions himself Winston Churchill in a green cape:

Al Gore today compared the battle against climate change with the struggle against the Nazis.

The former US Vice President said the world lacked the political will to act and invoked the spirit of Winston Churchill by encouraging leaders to unite their nations to fight climate change. He also accused politicians around the world of exploiting ignorance about the dangers of global warming to avoid difficult decisions. Speaking in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by The Times, Mr Gore said: “Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilisation in World War II.”

He added: “We have everything we need except political will but political will is a renewable resource.”

Mr Gore admitted that it was difficult to persuade the public that the threat from climate change was as urgent as the threat from Nazi Germany.

“The level of awareness and concern among populations has not crossed the threshold where political leaders feel that they must change.

“The only way politicians will act is if awareness raises to a level to make them feel that it’s a necessity.

letget: Actually, the cows tend produce primarily methane as a result of their diets. They also produce CO2 and water vapor, just as all living, breathing mammals do just by the fact they breathe! Humans also produce methane, but not to the levels of cows, unless you count the ‘bean scene’ in Blazing Saddles.

If you go to this web-site:

    http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/greenhouse_data.html

you can see that the effects of methane and CO2 are NOT what Dumbo (OwlGore) reports them to be — such an admission would destroy his anti-CO2 tirades.

In a nutshell, water vapor retains heat more efficiently than any other greenhouse gas, but it is ignored by the ‘Warmists’ because water vapor is 99.999% naturally occuring, i.e., man-made water vapor is about .001% of the problem.

You got it wrong. If you don’t recognize the danger of global warming, you’re Chamberlain.

No lgm, if you cannot refute this abridged version of the supressed EPA Climate Change Study, there is no manmade global warming.

Refute the data with comparable data or be silent. Gore can’t so he calls us Nazi’s.

    1. Lack of observed upper tropospheric heating in the tropics.
    2. Lack of observed constant humidity levels, as CO2 levels have risen.
    3. The most reliable sets of global temperature data we have, using satellite microwave sounding units, show no appreciable temperature increases during the critical period 1978-1997, just when the surface station data show a pronounced rise. Satellite data after 1998 is also inconsistent with the GHG/CO2/AGW hypothesis
    4. The models used do not take into account the most important ocean oscillations which clearly do affect global temperatures, namely, the Pacific Decadal Oscillation, the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation, and the ENSO.
    5. The models and the IPCC ignored the possibility of indirect solar variability, which would again have the effect of overstating the importance of GHGs/CO2.
    6. The models ignored the possibility that there may be other significant natural effects on global temperatures that we do not yet understand The1998 spike in global temperatures is very difficult to explain in any other way.
    7. Surface global temperature data may have been hopelessly corrupted by the urban heat island effect. The Draft TSD refers almost exclusively to surface rather than satellite data.

The current Draft TSD is based largely on the IPCC AR4 report, which is at best three years out of date in a rapidly changing field. There have been important developments in areas that deserve careful attention:
    • Global temperatures have declined—extending the current downtrend to 11 years with a particularly rapid decline in 2007-8; in addition, the PDO went negative in September, 2007 and the AMO in January, 2009, respectively. At the same time atmospheric CO2 levels have continued to increase and CO2 emissions have accelerated.
    • The consensus on past, present and future Atlantic hurricane behavior has changed.
    • The idea that warming temperatures will cause Greenland to rapidly shed its ice has been greatly diminished. by new results indicating little evidence for the operation of such processes.
    • A new 2009 paper finds that the crucial assumption in the GCM models used by the IPCC concerning strongly positive feedback from water vapor is not supported by empirical evidence and that the feedback is actually negative.
    • A new 2009 paper by Scafetta and Wilson suggests that the IPCC used faulty solar data in dismissing the direct effect of solar variability on global temperatures.

These developments alone should greatly influence any assessment of “vulnerability, risk, and impacts” of climate change within the U.S.

    Sit down. Shut up. Listen.

    Grow a thicker skin.

Conservatives call liberals Nazi and Fascist all the time. There’s a best selling book “Liberal Fascism”, as though liberal Presidents order troops to fire on demonstrators Mussolini style. Then there are the names used here. If you can’t take it, don’t dish it out.

Unlike “Bushitler” etc., the title “Liberal Fascism” is derived from the actual definition of fascism rather than a stereotypical liberal ad hominem attack.

Clearly the title got under your skin. The truth hurts. To quote a famous Democrat president: “Put some ice on that.”

Ditto for Colorado. We had 2 days in June where it hit 90 and only 3 days without rain in our neighborhood.

We may actually hit 90 once this week but it’s still raining every day.
