Culture of corruption watch: “Put nothing in writing…ever”
Same old, same old.
Well, you were warned.
In December, I raised the alarm over Obama eco-czar’s transparency-undermining, document-deleting habits.
I wrote back then: “If fiscal conservatives, sound science advocates, and businesses don’t raise a stink about Browner’s crooked background, they deserve everything that’s coming to them.”
Now, Mark Tapscott at the Examiner reports:
Carol Browner, former Clinton administration EPA head and current Obama White House climate czar, instructed auto industry execs “to put nothing in writing, ever” regarding secret negotiations she orchestrated regarding a deal to increase federal Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards.
Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-WI, is demanding a congressional investigation of Browner’s conduct in the CAFE talks, saying in a letter to Rep. Henry Waxman, D-CA, that Browner “intended to leave little or no documentation of the deliberations that lead to stringent new CAFE standards.”
Federal law requires officials to preserve documents concerning significant policy decisions, so instructing participants in a policy negotation concerning a major federal policy change could be viewed as a criminal act.
Waxman is chairman of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming. Sensenbrenner is the ranking Republican member of the panel.
Browner’s informal directive was previously reported by The New York Times. Sensebrenner’s letter is being made public tomorrow. A copy was made available to The Examiner by an official with knowledge of the controversy.

My husband and I were discussing laws of the land last night. Our conversation was defined as “but that was before-Obama” you know, when we were a nation of laws vs “now” when laws don’t matter. From the top down.
I’m serious. They think they can continue to get away with these things. But more and more people are starting to notice, in spite of the MSM cover-ups! This administration is going down. 2010 will start a whole new ball game.

Perhaps a bit OT, but what is with naming people “czars”? I get the colloquial connotation, but the denotative meaning is terrible. Our American forefathers would likely have a fit if they knew we were giving government officials monarchy titles.
If nothing else, Browner’s attitude underscores this. She behaves as if she really is a Czar.

I’m amazed the birth certifcate issue is so ignored. Persuing this could get us crazy Joe for president….bad, but a huge improvement. Anything else means we must wait until 2010 for any relief. Can you imagine the damage that can be done it that amount of time?
I’m waiting for our in-house counsel wannabe Chapoutier to chime in that Obama promosed transparency, but said nothing about the transparency of his cabinet members, czars and czarinas.

In my past corporate life, more than one “top dog” has been buried by unknown notes. We can only hope (is that a viable word any longer?) that somebody was in self preservation mode and in fact did keep some private notes (and then made sure they were properly “dated and vaulted”. (”dated and vaulted” – put in an envelope and mail to yourself – USPS then is kind enough to postmark the envelope with the date and location. Don’t open upon receipt. Save till needed.)
Only if it were committed by a Republican who was not in lock-step with the Administration and had thus found themselves in disfavor with Obama.

1. Neither Republicans nor Democrats care about the “conservative” vote, because both Republicans and Democrats know you won’t vote Democrat or “waste your vote” on a third-party candidate.
2. Fewer and fewer citizens actually care about what the Constitution says, hence giving license to Congress and the President to go against it.
3. Both the President and Congress know that Americans citizens will go with whatever they do in the end, despite all the protests, all the handwringing we may see. Those in charge know that the American people are sheep who only care insofar as their cable to see Michael Jackson works, their water is running, and they can still go out to eat. Americans have been conditioned for the last how many decades to think that government is here to help with all problems, something like the Stanford Prison Experiment.

Even our own Michelle Malkin won’t address the issue. I know that we are ridiculed as “truthers” when we bring it up, but I believe there is a huge cover-up on this, and why would there be, except he is hiding something very very big. This has to be resolved once and for all. Why won’t he resolve it? Because he is hiding the fact he is not a natural-born citizen of the U.S. What other explanation could there be? If he is legit, he would show proof. The fact that he won’t, is proof enough for me.

Calling happyscrapper “delusional”? Them’s fightin’ words! It is not delusional to have a some glimmer of hope. I am realistic about what is going on. But I also know that some light is being shined on the cockroaches and they will soon have to scatter toward their dark corners. We can then catch a few and squash them.
This needs to be shouted from the mountaintops. Every lie, every tactic of deception, every instance of circumvention of the Constitution, every iceberg-tip of corruption, by a subordinate in this administration or a Dem in Congress, is sanctioned and endorsed by the man at the top. This isn’t just a comedy of clueless buffoons mishandling things (perhaps it’s Biden’s job to deliberately create that impression), this is a well thought out campaign to ram Socialism down our throats ASAP.
How do you define “squash”? If John Murtha, among others in a Congress that had a 13% approval rating, can get reelected, then I don’t have much faith in the American citizenry.

Those of us with brains and common sense need to speak up, connect up, get busy with political action, etc. There are a lot of us out there. We just need some leaders. I believe Sarah Palin is planning to be one of the conservative leaders and is even now going around the lower 48 and speaking up. Why did she quit? For that reason! Just wait. Once we get some leadership, we can organize and make a huge difference.
I think Obama really admires Bill Clinton because he’s hired so many of Clinton’s boys and girls to fill out all of his made-up C/Tzar jobs. And all of these jobs are really “shovel ready”. Gag, gag, gag–is this nightmare ever going to stop!!

The “natural born citizen” requirement appears to be the direct result of John Jay’s letter to George Washington, which said:

The founders made it clear that “natural born Citizen” was a subset of “Citizen”. They are not equivalent terms. Being born on U.S. soil makes you a U.S. citizen (by the 14th amendment), but it does not automatically make you a “natural born Citizen”.
What is a “natural born Citizen”?
But even those who believe that birth on U.S. soil is all that is required to be a “Natural Born Citizen”, must admit that Annenberg Political Fact Check did not tell the truth when they claimed they examined Obama’s “original birth certificate” and they did not tell the truth when they claimed “The director of Hawaii’s Department of Health confirmed Oct. 31 that Obama was born in Honolulu”.
How about some honesty?

How about some accountability?

For the liberal office holder the left accepts lies, deceit, dishonesty, corruption, moral malfeasance, perversion, and thief as completely acceptable and in many cases such as Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Ted Kennedy, the left considers these to be admirable traits.
Now the average conservative would claim that this is hypocrisy, and all I can say is that you’re right.

Thanks for the information on the issue of Obama’s eligibility. Until this is cleared up it should remain front and center as a topic of discussion. No one has come forth with a logical explanation for Obama’s secrecy of his past, especially anything that would likely have on it his birthplace and/or claimed citizenship.
During one call to my Senator’s office the office assistant stated Obama was “vetted”.
What exactly does the mean? I would like to know who did the vetting, what questions were asked and what information was viewed to determine his eligibility.
Here’s a possible scenario IMO. There is no eligibility requirement to run for president, only to actually hold the office of president. The vetting, whatever it was, did not take place until it was obvious that Obama was going to be the Democrat nominee, and likely the next president. At that point in time the fear of the consequences of uncovering his ineligibility overrode any meaningful look into his eligibility.
Now there seems to be a fear of looking into the issue, it’s as if we must now accept an illegal president and just keep quiet about it.

I explain what that means in this post. Senators and Representatives “outsourced” the verification of Obama’s birth certificate, by accepting as truth the lies that were told by Annenberg Political Fact Check and the Associated Press.
I include in my post the actual text of a letter I received from one of my Senators.
There is no excuse for the fact that not a single member of Congress asked to see an officially certified birth certificate for Barack Hussein Obama, released by and delivered directly from the State of Hawaii.
They examined official certificates from the Secretary of State from each of the 50 states… certificates of the electoral college vote. But not a single member of Congress asked to see Obama’s original birth certificate. Not a single one. Even though thousands of us called their offices asking them to do so.
When Barry was adopted by Lolo Soetoro, a copy of Barry’s original birth certificate was likely sealed in Hawaii, and a new birth certificate, with the last name Soetoro, issued.
The only document that claims Obama was born in Honolulu is the COLB that was produced at the Obama campaign headquarters, a hard copy of a clearly fraudulent photoshopped COLB (no more legitimate than “Haye I.B. Ahphorgerie” [Hey! I be a forgery!]). That document has never been validated by the state of Hawaii, and it is ludicrous to accept it as valid.
There has not been any official statement or document issued by the state of Hawaii claiming that Barry was born in Honolulu.
The magnitude of the fraud surrounding the COLB is absolutely astounding.
Bingo! None of them wanted to be called “Raaaacist!” for questioning “The ONE”.
