Summer of silliness: Obama and the ogling freeze frame
When President Obama bowed and scraped before the Saudi king, I gave it to him.
And he deserved it.
But the tizzy over the “ogling” photo is unfair.
I just watched the video and it’s clear to me he wasn’t even paying attention to the young girl in the wine-colored dress. Obama was helping another young woman down the stairs and glancing down to grab her hand. You can see him talking to the young woman (black sweater, printed skirt) while the supposed temptress made her way up in the other direction.
I don’t even think he saw the young girl he’s accused of checking out.
Sarkozy is another story.
Now, can we get back to Obama ogling and molesting our wallets?

Good analysis. Although I would love every opportunity to tag Obama, there are much more serious (and obvious) transgressions to worry about.
That is as different photo or sequence than the one on Atlas Shrugs.
I agree. This is an unnecessary parallel with Bill Clinton, but it was good for a laugh. Could they have staged it to distract from the costly health care debate? How about distracting us from the lack of serious sanctions by the G8 for Iran, over killing hundreds of their own?
Ask Palin what “fair” has to do with anything. This is war, ain’t nothing “fair” about it. They do what they can to destroy us, we need to put down the wine glass and start fighting back. Or else just surrender.
Love the smirk on Sarkozy’s face. He’s a character, and personality plus, if nothing else.
I think the photo should be taken as humor and, at worst, gentle chiding, the way you would a friend who gets caught.
I’m hoping folks aren’t taking the photo too seriously, but, seeing a Jake Tapper tweet, looks like a few are.

Regardless, if this man wants to put himself in front of the camera every chance he gets, he can expect more of it, more often and it will only get worse.
Although its funny to tease, both photos are innocent imho.
I never thought he was ogling her butt. I assumed he was looking at her flats (shoes). I’m convinced he’s not straight.
Even if it was true, he should just say the same thing I would:
“I’m happily married, but I’m not dead.”
Well, I think he’s a dope anyway, but a bigger dope if he wasn’t checking out the hottie. sorry, it’s what real men do. and it’s should not come as a big shocker.
If I can seize on a moment to stick it to Hussein, I’ll take full advantage of it.

That other photo is the one that cracks me up and not because I think Obama was checking out a lady’s backside. In it, to me, Berlusconi looks like he is ensuring his zipper is up (for a change after his recent sex scandals) and Medvedev looks like a dummy frozen in place without Putin there with a hand up his backside to animate him.
Well, if he wasn’t ogling the girl, what’s wrong with him? Been hanging with Barney Frank too long?

He gives us plenty of LEGITIMATE reasons to criticize him. Bowing to the King of Saudi Arabia, giving the Queen of England an IPOD as an official gift, 57 states, believing we can spend our way to prosperity, if the Government lacks money he prints it, virtually begging the Chinese to keep lending us money, appointing tax cheats to Government jobs, nationalizing banks and GM, pushing unproven wind and solar energy over proven coal and nuclear, canceling the F22 Raptor fighter, claiming he saved a few hundred thousand jobs, his declining poll numbers, ……
We don’t need to make up reasons to criticize him.

The video is inconclusive; like a Rorschach test. You’ll see what you want to see.
The predictable exoneration from the All Barack Channel is even less compelling. I guess I’d cut him slack on this one, but make a mental note for future reference

I wish he would spend a little more time in the areas Bill Clinton excelled in. Then he would have less time to screw up the rest of America.

How can anyone call themselves a comedian and not be ripping on the mother-in-law jokes that are available out there with Michelle’s mama living with them in the White House? Come-on that is a rich field of comic material, dying to be plowed.
MM is a wise woman, trying to steer the discussion away from sexism. Her background clearly gives her a different perspective on certain issues. Diversity of opinion and background is a good thing.
The question is;
Will any of the late-night hosts, who pounded the republicans over every little thing, have the courage or sense of fairness to make jokes about ‘THE ONE’ ?
It was obvious from the beginning that with the lens probably used, depth of field could have put Obama 5 or more feet closer to the lens than ‘the Girl’.

However, even if he was, it proves a couple of things:
(1) He is a man.
(2) He is not an evil robot sent from the future to destroy America.
There are very few men who don’t notice beautiful women, and you can’t notice them without looking.
Sorry Michelle, but you’re wrong on this one. Da’ Prez was doing move 39, which is the pretend to look back for a purpose while catching an eyeful. Done it myself many times. The key to identifying this is that his only interest to the rear (pardon the pun) is his junior delegate…who is ABOVE him. No one looks down at the step behind them (as ABCnews asserts) when they leave a step…unless they’ve feel they’ve stepped in something. So…he’s guilty as charged. Look, its a quick glance at a pretty stunning view; trouble is, he and his kind tell us that these natural impulses are SOOOO wrong. In other words…fry him for the hypocrisy…not the gawk.

There were plenty of photos and out-of-context quotes of President Bush that were used to “prove” his stupidity. I’m with flenser, “fair” has nothing do with it. It’s a funny picture; if it convinces someone that they shouldn’t vote for Obama in 2012, then all the better.
For the record, I’m not convinced that Obama wasn’t cleverly positioning his eyes.
If he really cared about taking the hand of the woman he was helping, then he would have looked back to find it – he wouldn’t have kept his gaze fixed as he awaited her hand to enter his vision.
However, I don’t care if he was looking or not.

I tend to agree with this. I just read a comment the other day by someone named John Hawkins, and it seems appropriate here. It has to do with fighting fire with fire and not continuing to be so “nice”. “Instead of continuing to complain, here’s a better idea. Why don’t conservatives do opposition research on the journalists who are endlessly running stories about Palin and Joe the Plumber? Have these “journalists” ever been arrested? Any skeletons in their closets? Certainly Keith Olbermann’s and Maureen Dowd’s personal life is just as newsworthy as Joe the Plumber’s or Sarah Palin’s.” Which brings up the question…why are we not doing some of that? We have to stop being so polite. These people are not nice and they don’t play fair. We are doormats and that has to stop!! John McCain taught me one thing…doormats are losers.

It’s a funny picture. Whether he’s checking her out or not. Because even if he’s totally unaware of her existence, it LOOKS like he’s checking her out. Kinda one of those “one-in-a-million” type shots.
I’m less concerned w/Obie than the (presumably) unwanted uproar the media has focused on this young girl.
She is not dressed provocatively, but in a conservative manner befitting the occasion.
All this media attention has done is to sexualize an innocent encounter–and I’m not even sure she was aware of Obie’s presence.

Even in a throw away thread like this one I don’t think you can generate any interest in this. Either everyone is happy with the explanation Obama has given for all the secrecy on his records, (there isn’t one), or maybe they think everthing is so well hidded the truth cannot be uncovered.

Nice try on the Sotomayor connection, but you missed it badly. MM is not being considered for Supreme Court justice, and a discussion is not a judicial hearing.
We need people on the Supreme Court who are, as is Lady Justice, blind to diversity of opinion and background. Justices are there to apply the law, not to exercise their opinions. Sotomayor’s judgment in the CT firefighters’ case reveals a woman who is willing to place her preferences above the law. Not what we need!!

If this were GWB in the picture what would tomorrow’s front page picture be and what would the caption say underneath it? Until everyone understands that the “other side” does not have a rule book nor an etiquette book that they go by we are going to be losers. They lie (look at what Obama said to get elected), they cheat (does Federal Income Tax ring a bell) and they steal (or do you have $90,000 in your freezer?), in other words they do anything to get elected and the media go right along with it. They have the money and the media on their side, but we have the majority on ours. Forget a teaparty in the local park – how about at their front door? Just IMAGINE what would be going on right now if G.W. Bush, Dick Cheney, or Mark Sanford were caught on video lusting after a 16 year old’s a$$. It would be NON-STOP in the around-the-clock news cycles, the night time comedy shows, and every single appearance by a Hollywood actor.
This man is clearly captivated by the girl’s booty, and the comparison between this event and Bill Clinton’s exploits is not only valid, but is fair.
Those of us who are Conservatives respect women and repudiate Democrat’s habitual demeaning and victimization of women by Democrat beasts just as readily as we do similar behavior by Republicans.
All I know, is that this is a clear indication that Clintonesque female issues may well be an ingredient in the enigma of the Obama fraud… only now we have the added issue of “preferring children.”
P.S. As a Conservative that respects women, I am quite disappointed that you have chosen to give O-bum-a a pass on what is an obvious demonstration of “issues” that – until now – have been kept out of the public mix.

It’s amazing that one commenter thinks that this was actually a staged event designed to distract Americans from the more weighty issues of Obama’s apologies and betrayals of the USA in yet another foreign forum.
