Your stimulus dollars at work

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 13, 2009 02:46 PM

It’s working! It’s working!

The city of Hoover will get $400,000 in federal stimulus money for a landscaping and beautification project at the Interstate 65 and U.S. 31 interchange, city officials learned this week.

The project will be paid completely with federal funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation.

The city will not be required to provide any matching funds for the project.

Here in Texas, it could well be done by “undocumented workers” whom are also among the uninsured, and needing a hand with buying a work truck that gets better mileage, and also help with a home loan from BofA that should never have been given in the first place, on a house that needs insulation and new windows. Oh, and needing schools where only spanish is spoken. And college tuition aid.

See how this stimulus money has several-fold impact as it works its way through?

I was not aware of the racial comments until sometime later, when a third individual brought it to my attention.

Shay and Hoff declined requests for interviews, said Todd Tolson, convention chairman.

A friend and supporter of Shay, Torion Bridges, 22, Detroit, said she is not a racist.

“I was the first one to send a letter to the (Young Republican) national committee to refute what was being said about her,” said Bridges, who is African American. “The race card should not be played in this organization. Yes and yes. And if you did too, why aren’t you holding all the raging racists in your own party similarly accountable?

Of course she’s going to pretend it was a big understanding. But the fact is Audra Shay’s defense makes NO sense. She says she didn’t see the second comment, but her comment came eight minutes later, and said “LOL” even though the first comment was not humorous at all. (Of course I don’t find “need to take this country back from all of these mad coons… and illegals” humorous either, but she obviously has no problem with it.) Add that to the fact that she unfriended the two people who objected to the “mad coon” comment but not the man who did make the comment, and did not clarify which comment she was too even after those other two did.

You can try and deny that the sky is blue like you usually do, but when you look at the facts here, there is zero doubt she is a honest-to-God racist.

And even if there is some doubt, why wouldn’t the Young Republicans elect someone who was free of racial taint? And why wouldn’t Bobby Jindal rescind his endorsement.

This is a MAJOR scandal, and as I wrote in another threat, an indication of major racism within the Republican Party. “Party of Lincoln” my ass.

In the meantime Cedar Rapids, Iowa is still filled with wrecked homes and business from a June 2008 catastrophic flood. Federal assistance is all tied in up red tape, while people suffer needlessly. The city and county have raised taxes, because the DEMOCRAT Congress and Iowa DEMOCRAT legislature have done essentially nothing but give out crumbs. The worthless Governor does zero.

And to think the evil Booooosh did nothing for 72 hours after Katrina.

All people like you can do is scream racist and defame the Sarah Palin’s of the world to try and distract everyone from the graft, corruption, cronyism, and frankly out right criminal conduct on the part of the Democrat party, which in my opinion has supplanted the mafia as the largest organized crime group in the country.

You can’t debate or defend a thing, because you have no facts to defend any of your positions with. So drag out the villans….. drag out the victims and keep reliving the 60’s.

obama’s in st louis to party down at the all star game, after all, he spent 1 day in washington d.c. after his 10 day world trip, that’s enough to solve our problems.

As I said on another thread, don’t worry about Obama not being on the job. That is what his czars are for…to run the country so he can have fun.

Wanna bet that ACORN is using this story to get more stimulus dollars?

    http://www.suntimes.com/news/metro/1663507,fbi-burr-oak-graves-071309.article

I mean, in the Chicagoland area, a number of bodies have been dug up and their plots re-sold. ACORN is on the case, ensuring the old bodies have not had their votes disenfrancised and, of course, to register the new bodies to vote and/or change the address.

Now, that is community activism!!! Probably worth another $28 million or so.

    “landscaping and beautification”

I can provide some stimulus in my backyard if they want to give my money away for free.

I’d like a new deck, some more trees, and a gazebo.

landscaping and beautification project at the Interstate 65 and U.S. 31 interchange,

Reminds me of the ’50s when everyone knew that the interstate highway system was known to be unconstitutional. So, congress and Eisenhower declared it as a military project, for quick movement of our armed forces and evacuation…much like the Autoban was declared. I guess it’s constitutional now, under the Obama government, where everything the liberals want is constitutional.

I used to live in Hoover, AL. It is a very wealthy community and does not need pork to “beautify” its parkways along 31 and 65. All they need is some convicts to pick up the garbage strewn about.

round up some illegals and put them to work doing more of those supposed jobs Americans won’t do at no cost and save a ton of $$$..

And, dummy me! Here I thought this would be a post about how Obama is tearing down further the private sector to get the general public so scared that they’d agree to Obamacare, not to mention cap & tax.
