IG-Gate: Still smoldering

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 14, 2009 09:56 AM

Stacy McCain updates the story that the Obama administration wants to go away:

“We’re not there yet,” one Democratic source on Capitol Hill said last week, when asked about the prospect for hearings on the Obama administration’s firing of AmeriCorps inspector general Gerald Walpin. Congressional investigators are still conducting interviews in the case, so the question of whether to “pull the trigger” on a full-blown inquiry — with subpoenas for witnesses to testify under oath at committee hearings — has yet to be decided.

The fact that both Democrats and Republicans are involved in investigating the Walpin dismissal is, however, highly significant. With Democrats controlling both houses of Congress, bipartisanship is absolutely necessary to getting the truth about the AmeriCorps case, as with the other cases in the smoldering “IG Gate” scandal.

Don’t hold your breath on this one. The Anointed’s underlings will find an issue to divert everyone’s attention, i.e. another CIA secret order by VP Cheney to be investigated.

Even if the hearings come to pass, they’ll be of little effect or benefit to anyone; the media is not on board for any investigation that may reflect poorly on their administration and party, and will not do any meaningful reporting on the hearings, regardless of what may be learned – 2010 is too close.

President Bush was relentlessly hounded for firing a few federal prosecutors.

But, Duh One fires an Inspector General who’s investigating one of his backers and the lame stream media covers a “guitar hero” instead.

President Bush better watch it. Duh One might go after him with both barrels to try to cover this up.

So let me get this right…

Karl Rove was interviewed last week regarding the firing of those attorney’s. The democrats just can’t let this thing die.

However, Obama administration fires an IG who exposed one of Prompterbama’s friends mishandling of funds. The MSM will not report the story and the Obama administation has the gall to say that IG Walpin is an old senile wacko and should not be an IG.

Hopefully, we’ll finally get some of Prompterbama’s staff on the hill to explain.

Now that Obama’s approval ratings are tanking, everything is Bush’s fault again.

    It’s all about transparency…

It’s more important to hold hearings on a top-secret CIA “IDEA” that never really became operational.

But why hold hearings on abuse of power by Obama and his minions? Or why look into the organized crime family called Acorn?

The new definition of Obama transparency: being able to look right through something like it was never there.

the same people who investigated how all the records of all the clinton opponents ended up in the private area of the white house are looking into how obama can legally fire a guy who is investigating obama’s posse. hmmmmm, mrs clinton sat in on the nixon lynching when he fired that pesky special prosecutor, perhaps she should look into this matter. she sure isn’t doing much at state, as allah is telling the world how to act.
