Al Gore blows more hot air
Jason at Shock and Blog points out Al Gore’s latest gaseous emission:

Heather Ewart, a reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Company, recently interviewed Al Gore.
At one point, she asked Gore about a High Court case in England two years ago about his film “An Inconvenient Truth” being shown to public school students. In that case, the judge ruled that Gore’s film contained nine significant scientific errors, that it “promotes partisan political views,” and that it could not be shown in public schools in England without the teachers providing additional materials to counter the film’s bias. Here is the exchange from the interview:
HEATHER EWART: There was also, though, a British judge who ruled that there were in fact, I think, nine errors when it was challenged in court?
AL GORE: Well, the ruling was in my favour. There have been a number of deniers trying to say that this isn’t real. Of course there are always going to be that, but the overwhelming majority of the scientists who’ve looked at this have said, “We’ve got to confront this.”
He didn’t answer the question posed! He also lied about the outcome of the case in his side-stepping answer. The judge, in fact, came out after the ruling and clearly stated that the claimant/plaintiff (a father of a student) had won the case:
“I conclude that the claimant substantially won this case by virtue of my finding that, but for the new guidance note, the film would have been distributed in breach of sections 406 and 407 of the 1996 Education Act.”

Did anyone else see O’Reilly tell Beck last night that Global Warming is real? What an idiot. He told Beck that 7 of the last 11 years have been the warmest on record.
When Beck responded to the contrary, he said “we’ll look into that for a later show” or some such BS. Since the issue was that even though global warming is real, the crap and tax bill is just a ripoff of the American people.
I gotta quit watching O’Reilly, he’s moved to far left in his attempt to be Fair and Balanced.
The science behind global warming is really bad, but algore knows this, and he’s going to create enough hot air all by himself to cause a polar meltdown. Ergo, there is such a thing as global warming, and he was right all along.

Did the reporter follow up and call Gore out? Would have been a perfect opportunity. It seems she had enough facts to ask the question in the first place.

ManBearPig say – Mars temperature rise not part of ManBearPigs adgenda. ManBearPig disregards Planet Earth being closer to the Sun than Mars so suns affect on Earth Climate is more pronounced.
He’ll just claim that the earth is warming so much it’s heating up the entire solar system.

A new study on CO2 and warming has just come out admitting that the climate models are wrong. This study will be used by the warm-mongers to claim that CO2 has even a greater warming effect than they thought. But, even that would contradict their claim that the debate is over. This settled science is becoming more unsettled every day. Here is a quote from the article, which is titled Global Warming: Scientists’ Best Predictions May Be Wrong:

As you keep saying, Al Gore is not a climate scientist. But he does believe them. They say global warming is real, with very very few dissenters — very few climate scientist with major research credentials dissenters. Just one, actually.
When you listen to one side, then cover your ears and yell “LA, LA, LA…” while a dissenting side is given, that is not thoroughly researching the issue, now is it? Ignoring an opposing view point doesn’t make it invalid.
cabrerski: I don’t ignore your arguments. You say GW is controversial because lots of people don’t buy it. You say lots of GW theories have been debunked. You (or many on this site) even believe scientists are conspiring to put over a false theory in order to enrich themselves, destroy America, or for some other evil purpose. I’ve read all that.
Now: none (actually one) of the naysayers is actually a qualified scientist. The rest lack the training or the experience to have an expert opinion.
But your opinion counts above others, right? Don’t doubt your passion but do question your objectivity.
I spend a lot of time in labs and watch “qualified” scientists jump to conclusions day and night. Again, if you know who is paying…Not that they are going to get rich, just find a way to make a decent living.
Biases are the biggest problem in scientific research as we all have them and often find it difficult to recognize when we are applying them. Check out the research on cold fusion after it was announced it had been achieved in 1989. Created quite a stir. They still haven’t been able to reproduce it despite the numerous research hours by qualified (and I do mean qualified) scientists.
If you are not familiar with the way grants are awarded to research institutes, may I recommend that you check it out. Very eye-opening process. Case-in-point: Harvard’s 20yr research project into coffee as a cancer-causing agent. The ink wasn’t even dry on the grant application before millions were heading to Harvard. It is just the way these things are done. BTW, coffee does appear to cause cancer (so have another cup).
Off on a tangent, Galileo (a great scientist)”proved” his work by writing a three-person narrative. In Dialogue on the Ebb and Flow of the Sea. One was the Academian (Salviati) who had the logical answers (the voice of Galileo), another (Simplicio) had the counter-arguments (set up as the straw man), and the “impartial” judge (Sagredo) who ended up the wise guy’s groupie. This was reasoning, well composed even, but not scientific proof. Galileo was a great observer and scientist but, alas, wasn’t always right even when he was more “qualified” than many of his peers.
Many people (even trained professionals) cannot avoid their prejudices. Not blaming them of wrong-doing, just limiting their research and conclusion-jumping. Part of being human, y’know.

most of the “scientists” i have heard from saying gw is occuring are politicians such as big al, and the u.n. who get their money directly from grants for studying gw and carbon offsets to somehow not fix the problem, but make someone pay something for doing something which may or may not cause the problem.
Gore is deluded. He is so heavily invested, mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially in this invention that he can never turn back. He will make millions just promoting it so promote he will. The dustbin of history will judge him.
In fact, I think he can only be saved if we do something. Then, since global warming does not exist anyway, he can point to his policies as having stopped it and saved us. If we do nothing and warming dissapates, he will go down as a fools fool.
In other words, he doesn’t need global warming to be real. He needs a solution implemented to save his big foolish backside. He is all in.

I came across what I think is an elequent analogy by physicist Ron House explaining to the average person:
1. What the alarmist/IPPC ‘hot spot’ model prediction is all about and,
2. Why their failure at hot spot prediction in itself is FAR more damning to them fundamentally in terms of invalidating their claim of AGW more so than say, recent global temperature cooling trends in general or declining ocean heat or increasing ice extent, etc., (ie = huge WAD of empirical evidence running counter to the alarmist fraud)
