Darn it. It wouldn’t have hurt to lose a few politicians along with the criminal.

I remember a great scene in Lonesome Dove, where Captain Call rides into a small town in New Mexico, and notices the scaffolding being built for a hanging.

Call says to the wheelwright, “Lotta people here to watch the hanging”. Wheelwright says, “Yeah, and this one’s bad. Muy malo”. Call asks eagerly: “Who is it, a politician?”

You had me up until this point. Everyone knows Obama doesn’t sign anything without flying halfway across the country and staging a big media circus for several hundred thousands dollars of the taxpayers money.

They’re making a big deal out of this because conservatives are pissed at congress…despite all the shootings in DC on a daily basis.

5:55 P.M.: Shots reported near senate building. All networks immediately shift coverage to this breaking news. Senate lockdown occurs, no one allowed in or out. Capital police give press details.
6:00 P.M.: President Obama reports that despite gunfire, senate lockdown, and media blackout, congress passed health care bill, cap and trade bill, increased their salaries by 50%, then departed D.C. via secret tunnels for vacation. Obama signed everything into law at 6:01 P.M. and then left with family to attend important Monte Carlo gambling and shopping event after reaffirming to adoring media that “recovery is on-track and that he would respect America in the morning”.

Didn’t even get close to the Senate area. Security is extremely tight there these days…with all the corruptocrats in DC, they are watching their backs very carefully. A LOT of people hate their guts.
