Consider a single doctor practice and you see few employees. A couple working the desk and books. An RN to assist the Doctor and then a contractor cleanup crew or maybe a book keeper.

Not a lot of choices there to ‘trim the fat’ from personnel standpoint.

So your Doctor is going to be taking a hit and is already up to his ears in clients and can’t likely take the additional new insured patients.

As a side effect all of his supplies will increase in cost due to parallel activity in the places that make those supplies and such.

It will become a not good thing to be a patient the day after a new batch of invoices arrive with all the price increases.

A lot of businesses get around government mandates by hiring only (or predominantly) part-time employees – one of my sons is dealing with such a situation, which effectively limits the number of hours he can work.

Other small businesses get around the mandates by not having “employees” at all, but “sub-contractors”, the situation I currently find myself in. I have to pay all my own taxes (the only benefit I might possibly see is workmen’s comp if I’m injured while on the job).

In other words, instead of helping people, the government mandates hurt the very people they claim they’re trying to help.

The late great Ronald Reagan had it right; the most dangerous words in the English language (or any other language if translated) are ‘I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.’

The Democrats will laugh up their sleeves and plan the next social program they can foist on America. It’s a vicious cycle with the Republicans as the gerbils in the exercise wheel spinning round and round and going nowhere.

We need a new party that askews political correctness, calls a spade a spade and says “ok, I’m a racsist or homophobe [insert any name you wish here], so what, we’re still going to speak the truth regardless if your sensibilities are offended. “

It’s time the tail quits wagging the dog in this country and we tell the minority to take a hike.
