Sign the petition: Keep Gitmo detainees out

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 17, 2009 11:07 AM

The Democrats in Washington don’t want to talk about Obama’s Gitmo release policies.

But you do have a voice.

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a Senior Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, has posted a video and petition opposing the transfers of detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to the United States. He’s also sponsoring an amendment, S.Amdt.1559, to the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2010 (S.1390), which prohibits the transfer of detainees from Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to any facility in the United States. From Sen. Inhofe’s office:

“By more than a 3 to 1 margin, Americans are opposed to detainees being transferred to their home states. And to date, the views of the American people have not changed,” Inhofe said. “Regardless, the administration is committed to fulfilling its political campaign promise to close GITMO, even though President Obama has yet to visit the facility for himself.

“Right now we have an opportunity to stop the President from bringing terrorists to American soil. My amendment will do just that, but I need you to weigh in. By signing this petition, you are telling the Senate and the President that it is unacceptable to house terrorists in your home states. I will make sure that my Senate Colleagues see these petitions and that they are aware of your opposition before they vote on this very important legislation.”

Watch:

Sign the petition here.

I’m quite sure they are fully aware of public opposition. Senators are also fully aware of the financial support of trial lawyers they get, and having the detainees in the states will make it much easier and more profitable for the detainee’s defense attorneys.

And besides, it’ll make it easier for the detainees to take advantage of immigration amnesty when it becomes availabe…..another happy Democrat voting bloc.

The Khilafah Conference 2009 is scheduled to be held July 19, 2009 at the Hilton Oak Lawn hotel.
A group committed to establishing an international Islamic empire and reportedly linked to Al Qaeda is stepping up its Western recruitment efforts by holding its first official conference in the U.S.

Do you suppose POTUS & TOTUS might take a few minutes from their whirlwind OBAMACARE TOUR to deliver a friendly message of encouragement to the conference?

Why should they hide their intentions? Their goal is to convert the USA into a glorious Caliphate, after all. To them, the sooner, the better.

The biggest reason I have for not wanting Enemy Combatants in the United States is primarily letting the ACLU get their hands on them and demand that the taxpayers tie up our judicial system with court appointed attorneys, constitutional rights, and an endless number of appeals.

Since they were non-uniformed combatants, by rights, they should have been summarily executed when captured. Instead, we give them bed-and-breakfest accomodations with access to their Quran and prayer blankets along with a compass pointing toward Mecca while U.S. citizens are having trouble bringing Bibles into our schools. What insanity.

Ya think? Theres money to be made in those endless appeals.

why is Al Queda meeting in Chicago?

Because they’ve got a huge base in the midwest. And it’ll be closer for those taking part in the camal caravans coming from the Detroit area.

Besides, NYC wouldn’t take kindly to and be kinda nervous about a large Al Queda meeting. No?
