Happening at congressional offices across the country right now: Taxpayers are saying no to the Democrats’ government health care takeover plans. Tea Party protests are just getting underway. I’ll post more pics ad reports as they come in. Guess who won’t be there: CNN superhack Susan Roesgen.

I just got off a conference call led by Amy Kremer of the National Tea Party Patriots, who said that health care was becoming the focal point of the tea parties. So far, most of the activism on the health care issue has been on the left, led by the group Health Care for Americans Now (a coalition of liberal activist groups and unions). Critics of the tea party movement have argued that there doesn’t seem to be any unifying purpose behind the tea parties beyond general disgruntlement with our Demcratic-run government. So, the health care debate will be a good test as to whether the tea party movement can mobilize its grassroots energy around a specific purpose and actually present a counterweight to the well-financed and organized liberal movement.
Right now, it’s pretty clear from the health care bills we have already seen that the Democratic leadership wants to push through very liberal legislation, and is willing to ram it through without any Republican support. That means moderate Democrats in both the House and Senate will hold the keys to whether President Obama gets what he wants, and if there is any hopes of stopping a government takeover of health care, lawmakers in conservative states and districts will have to feel the heat from their constituents.

Just got back from lunch and saw a demonstration. There was a small group of moonbats, 3 or 4, demonstrating in favor of Obamacare. On our side there were about 12 or 15 from Atlanta Tea Party in favor of freedom and less spending. I stopped and chatted and in just a few minutes they had already picked up 2 or 3 more and all the cars passing by seemed to be against Obamacare. The organizer claimed they had 50 more people at the office of local Demorat John Lewis. This is very encouraging. Americans do not want this nightmare!

Just got back from the pharmacy to refill hubbys medicine…after 15 years of tricare paying for said medicine they now won’t pay, has to be generic. I know, I know a lot of people are forced to take generic, myself included, but it just seemed like a slap and a wakeup call for what’s ahead. Kill off the old people and create a master race. I’m not really an old people yet, but it is just around the bend.
I was so stunned at the pharmacy!!! Almost threw a fit, but not his fault. I am proud of the protesters and plan to join on as soon as I find one.

I’ve been working towards obtaining my undergraduate degree for years. Working full-time and going to school part-time (night classes). Finally found an online program with Liberty University that works for me. Although it’s tough juggling a full-time job, being a wife and mother (to my dog), I have been doing quite well in my coursework. In April I was inducted into the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society.

having recently turned 64, I find myself with a couple health problems, minor in comparison to heart and emphysema I already am fighting, but I best have them checked out before Obama’s euthanasia plan takes effect. Instead of pain pills I’ll be getting a cyanide pill.

having been to the claire mccaskill protest, while she was off lecturing the obama retraining grant money czar about how her uaw constituents from the closed chrysler plant and chrysler dealerships wanted straight talk, no b.s. about retraining money. what a joke, she’s still lying to these uaw morons, and they keep believing the same old stuff. nearly as bad as black america, which always votes democrat and always gets the shaft, even when they vote a half black messiah into the presidency. rampant unemployment, jobs leaving the u.s., and taxes going up. you better hope for change, 3 1/2 more years and vast quantities of our black population could be living under bridges.

It’s not just Tricare that has a preferred drug list which I suppose a lot are Generics. As I recall, a drug company has 17years to recoup the total cost of all the research it’s done and then has to release info so a generic can be made. Yeah they do spend a lot of money, but if their lines of research don’t pan out, they have to abandon the research and are out of pocket.
I’m not sticking up for Drug Companies. I work for the Children’s Hospital at Stanford. We are encouraged to use Escript (thru the mail). I prefer a local Pharmacy.
Back on Topic, I emailed Mike Honda, DiFi and Babs Boxer last night. between SCHIP, Medicare, and Mcal (Mcaid); probably the Mcare Drug plan, too, we are $53 Trillion in debt without the Prez’s plan. I suggested they sign up for the plan, also add their extended families and their STAFF… Then I heard this AM that Oklahoma (was it House Member?) Congressman got such an amendment pushed thru.
ABBA, FATHER, we need to have this defeated. Do not turn your back on us in our hour of need. Amen.

This information would be damning if we could use that. During the election, ‘Bambi promised he’d reform Medicare and his wish to pattern any healthcare reform to match that of Congress. It was a promise only a fool would believe, but we’ll all have to live with it.

24Klady, I know I’ve heard the stats in the past. I deal with Blue Shield who has a plan that covers Federal Employees. CalPERS is Blue Shield covering Calif. State Employees.
Would Gov’t Accounting Office? or Congressional Budget Office? What about “AskHeritage.Com” that Sean and Rush talk about? They might be a good source. Try there. You know it’s a Cadillac Plan with a Capitol “P”.
Reporting in from Bellevue, Washington. There were 31 patriots out near one of Democrat Patty Murray’s regional offices, an office on the same street as a ton of doctors’ offices and hospitals. My sign said “Govt-rationed medicine ’surtax’ is a job-killing rip-off” and “Obamacare bill outlaws private health insurance”.
The protesters stood out there from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.

My husband and I were out in front of DIFi’s office in San Diego from 9 to 10:30. There were about 50 people there. The only objection we got was a black guy driving past yelling “Obama! Obama!” Lots of cars driving by honked in support.

The kids and I went to the protest in Raleigh, NC today.
We met a gentleman who was a veteran of the Korean War.
My boys have made it a habit, which they enjoy immensely, of going up and thanking veterans or soldiers in uniform. And so they went up and shook this gentleman’s hand and gave him our thanks for serving our country.
And he immediately made me want to cry by thanking me – for bringing my kids out to this event. “My service is worth it when I see young people at these events, trying to save our country.”
“Trying to save our country.”
That he could even equate what he and other veterans have done to what we are doing is completely humbling.
And scary.
And thought-provoking.
I don’t know about other stations, but the local NBC affiliate (Mobile, AL) didn’t mention anything this evening. (Unless they waited for the 6:00 news and I missed it.)
A local christian radio station reported this from whatever their national news feed is.
I’ll post some pics tomorrow of the Tea Party healthcare protest here in Brunswick, Georgia in front of Saxby Chambliss’ regional office. The local newspaper caught a lot of hell for NOT covering the July 4th Tea Party here, and as a result there were TWO photographers and TWO reporters interviewing people. We had about 40 people show up, with the best sign reading “Government run healthcare is like a colonoscopy without anaesthetic”.
If Obama looses this one, and he very well may, he is dead in the water. Pelosi declared that they had the support of the Ameican People for the Health Care. She must be talaking about Sharon Jasper.

Claire “ACORN” McCaskill’s office called the police because they felt threatened by the Homeland Security Designate terrorists.
If anyone is beholden to ACORN its Claire McCaskill. ACORN delivered just the amount of votes required from St. Louis and Kansas City in her Senate run against Jim Talent.
Tucson’s protest outside Gabrielle Giffords office was a success. We were on 3 of the street corners, while the counter-protest was on one. We outnumbered them at least 5-1. I think there were about 300 of us there, maybe more. Of course local TV news downplayed our numbers and boosted the opposition numbers. I’d say about 1/4 of the traffic honked for us.
