You picked a huge winner with Eleven Eleven Mississippi. Haven’t eaten there myself but know it is an A list here.

Maybe I am just numbed by east coast prices, but I thought it was really reasonably priced for the quality. Our bill would have been at least $50 higher for an equivalent meal (with drinks, wine, etc…) in DC.

Especially if it makes you feel superior while eating/drinking it. You’d be surprised how “unindependent” some of these elitists can be.

Best place for crepes in that day was The Magic Pan. LOVED to go there. The white sauce seafood crepe was so good, you’d dream about it.

As for the music, I am always telling people, you can hear more good music for free on any given night here than probably nowhere else.

I think perhaps anything Asian, like Thai or New Asian cuisine is what’s in. I’ll really miss the Thai restaurants here in SE Virginia. Ah, well- Chinese is just as good I guess.

I can’t for the life of me understand what is so fun about fondue. I like a nice, hot cheese on my hamburger (when I eat red meat) but as a gourmet dining experience I don’t get it. I think Europe took all of the experimental gourmet dining out of me.

Not so much the cheese course, but cooking various meats and veggies in a boiling broth or oil. Many cultures have a similar thing (like a Chinese hot pot).
