Colorado’s Democrat governor refuses to endorse cap and tax
Check this out. GOP Sen. Jim Inhofe wonders why Democrat Gov. Bill Ritter would support cap and tax given the heavy fiscal toll it would impose on Colorado.
Inhofe: “Are you here supporting Waxman Markey today?”

WELL! At least he supports CLIMATE LEGISLATION. I am sure glad that so many people in government are still of the opinion that we can legislate the weather.
Ah, the ole political two-step. We should add music to his shuffling.
It’s amazing how they all want their idealism and AGW beliefs to be legislated but never wish to talk about the costs, even to his own state. The fact that he does not refute any of what Sen. Inhofe says about Waxman Markey is telling by itself.
Ooh, I love to dance a little sidestep, now they see me now they don’t-
I’ve come and gone and, ooh I love to sweep around the wide step,
cut a little swathe and lead the people on.
Too bad we couldn’t see Ritter dance to his answer, too.
Salt, I was busy typing the lyrics when you posted.
That was an unqualified yes/no/maybe/whatever.
Got to love how politicians can speak for hours and say absolutely nothing.
Inhofe: Would you like chocolate or vanilla ice cream?
Ritter: Yes
I don’t understand why the citizens of CO. not pitching a royal fit to get the oil they have out of the ground. Jobs, taxes, etc. would make CO a very wealthy state.
L
The whole state is gonna pay for that, now! Nobody, but NOBODY!, defies Duh One!
No surprise here . . . we Coloradans know that Bill Ritter won’t take a stand on anything. I suppose he probably loves his mother but I doubt you could get him to say so.
The best part of this video is what I believe to be Barbara Boxer moving in and out of the picture chewing gum like a cow. She’s offensive even when she’s not talking.
Letget – One of our former Senators, Ken Salazar, is now the Sec of the Interior, and is stopping drilling not only in CO, but across the nation. The Californians/enviro nitwits outnumber those who are in favor of productive industry and energy independence.
I am impressed. How could Ritter sit upright in his chair with no spine?
Amazing feat.
FIFY
Oh, wouldn’t ya love to see a video of that?!
How pathetic. Do any of these people know how to give a simple yes or no? If they can’t dazzle us with brilliance, since they have none, then they must bury us in BS. No matter how you slice it – it just smells bad. It’s time to “cap ‘n trade” and “muck out” congress along with this administration and send them to a giant compost pile.
Ritter didn’t commit to any kind of position other than supporting greenhouse gas emmission reduction. Even though Ritter didn’t clearly endorse, he didn’t clearly seem to share Inhofe’s economic concerns. You could tell in Inhofe’s short, dejected “all right, that’s fine.” response that he was hoping for a much different response. Ritter doesn’t get it and Inhofe saw that in his response.
“These girls have their andaleys mixed up with their pirouettes, & their fortissimos mixed up with the allegrettos.” “Yeh, but what’s wrong with their dancin’?”

RTater,
Co as well as other states might want to think about the 10th amendment and tell dc to shove it. Sarah signed the 10th for AK that was passed without any person voting against it.

There you go!
If Ritter doesn’t have the spine to give a yes-or-no answer, I won’t hold my breath for any kind of resolution reminding the feds of the limitations (technically) imposed on them by the 10th. No, we just sent our Senator to D.C. to continue the damage, but on a larger scale. One third of “our” land is “fedearal/national” land. I wouldn’t look to CO for bravery or leadership. The most I can hope for is some “me too” after the Republic of Texas takes the lead.
FABULOUS!
It is a windless night in Denver. Twenty percent of the cars are electric and plugged in for recharging and it is 5 degrees above zero.
Governor Ritter, what is your plan to keep the businesses and homes in Denver lighted and warm, while airports and factories are operating and your vehicles are drawing power off the grid?
IDIOTS!
“Let your yes be yes and your no be no” was what I was taught long ago…I don’t recall any biblical instructions for “Let your waffle be a waffle” however.
Hey! Leggo my Eggo!
Right on, JoAnn in VA. Those of us who are conservative in CO are very disheartened with our fellow Coloradans. Over the last few elections we have turned over our legislature, the Governor’s office and most of the higher courts to the Democrat party. Very disturbing. Then they complain about the results. I’m a transplant from PA for the last almost 40 years. CO used to be a solidly “Red” state. With the exception of the Denver and Pueblo counties with their heavy labor union representation. Then the “blue” began to snake up through the “beautiful people” areas in the ski resorts and the “People’s Republic of Boulder”. Ouch. Something went terribly wrong…there were some bright spots in the recent past when we in Pueblo County actually elected some very responsible and competent Republicans to office, but they eventually were voted out by the left’s usual deceptions and people succumbed to the usual “I was born a Democrat, I’ll die a Democrat” mindset regardless of the facts…Aargh.
Rogue Cheddar:
ROFLROFLROFL!
Governor Ritter had better be careful or he’ll find himself under The B.O.’s bus.
As for Cap and Trade, the lug nuts are starting to become loose.
Then blame it on the other transplants from blue states, and the youngsters indoctrinated and brainwashed in publik skools to vote progressive!
Democrat Sideshow:
Did anyone happen to notice the condescending fidgeting and body language Barbara Boxer was doing next to him?
Did you also notice the guy sitting behind Ritter on his left giving him the fuzzy eyeball? (or was he trying to stay awake?)
You can practically see the career light in the corner of his eye blinking on and off when he is giving his weasely answer.
He was invited to travel to Washington for that? I assume he arrived on a bicycle.
CO2 Producer – That reminds me; the Gov was conveniently out of town when thousands showed up at the State Capitol for the Tea Party. The crowd chanted “Where is Riiter?”.
i wish we had any politician with the stones of the indian president who just flatly told hill-billy clinton NO, we aren’t going to tax ourselves into economic depression to satisfy the whims of a bunch of libs who care more about snail darders than people.
Because most of the people living here now are NOT from Colorado and bring their leftist, environNazi policies with them from places like California and New York.
Those of us who have always lived here, recognize the value of oil and gas exploration. We certainly felt the impact in the early 80s when the bottom dropped out of the industry. It didn’t really recover until the last few years when prices were higher.
With Ritter and a Dem-run Legislature – both houses, we’re already feeling the effects of their new stringent regulations on oil and gas. Several companies have either pulled out or severely reduced their expenditures in the state. They’re putting their R&D money into Wyoming and Texas instead.
On top of that we have the usual “open space”, “roadless wilderness”, “endangered insects”, and other policies that put land out of reach for development of any kind.
that’s great, thank you, I’m still lol…won’t need my next anti-depressant pill now.
It would make America a very wealthy country…AGAIN!
“Oh, golly…I’m stuck in between a rock and a hard place…I need to support Obama$hit and get re-election, but I also need votes from Colorado voters…what to do, what to do…”
I’m sooo glad I moved to Arkansas…far, far away from the Rocky Mountain cranial wasteland!
hawkeye54, sadly true. I came here courtesy of “Uncle Sam’s Travel Plan” and nearly instantly realized I was in a very special place. The standard joke around Colorado in the early 70′s was that everyone discovering Colorado wanted to be the last one in the gate before it was locked. Maybe it SHOULD have been fenced off. But what happened in CO has happened all across the country. I’d bet most folks in the military and those who stayed here after getting out or retiring have voted solidly conservative. But the sad trend across the country has been that too many who voted conservative jumped the fence and gave us a Democrat Congress and now BO. No telling what prompted their thought patterns. If any. Those same trends gave us Bubba in Chief in ’92 and nearly gave us Gore and Kerry. Finally gave us BO. In spite of warnings of the consequences. Sad but true. Yep, us baby boomers didn’t raise our voting age kids very well. We reap what we sow. A nation of “gimmies”.

Ya take two steps to the left
Two steps to the right
Then you stand in the middle
And you hold on tight
