Obamacare: Code Blue

We need a Do Not Resuscitate order for the flailing Democrats’ health care takeover plan.

It’s Code Blue and Team Obama is in panic mode.

Certain sign of desperation: Summoning the nutroots to help.

And another from Mark Knoller, who reports that the White House has moved up Obama’s health care statement today to 12:15pm in the Rose Garden.

And now this from Reuters:

The House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee has canceled its Tuesday debate and vote on healthcare legislation but has kept a Wednesday meeting on its schedule.

Good. This will give Obama time to study the plan he supports — a plan that he admitted he’s not familiar with when asked about the provision that would effectively kill off the individual insurance market.

***

Philip Klein tosses the politics card back at the White House:

Obama’s health care push is hitting a rough patch because moderates in his own party are skittish about the price tag and tax increases. The Congressional Budget Office determined that none of the Democratic bills do anything to rein in costs — the primary rationale for his health care drive. And the Mayo Clinic, which Obama has routinely praised as a model for the health care system, has blasted the House legislation. Yet Obama wants to rush legislation through so he has a victory going into an election year.

In fact, as CNN reported, “The Senate Democratic leadership and the White House are putting heavy pressure on the Finance Committee to adopt its health care plan before the president speaks to the nation (on Wednesday).” So in other words, Obama is trying to pressure the Finance Committee not to write the best legislation its members can, not to reach a bipartisan compromise, but to pass whatever bill they can before he goes in front of the television cameras to give a prime-time news conference.

Yes, it is about him.

The liberals plan is to improve health care for the poor and worsen health care for the rich. There is no way they can bring all the poor people up to the same standard that Ted Kennedy and his ilk get so they must lower somebodies standard to make it fair for everyone.

Now that is a stupid plan. I would rather have the free market plan than an ill concieved, ridiculous stupid plan that takes from one person to give to the other person. Who decides who gets and who gives? Politicians? Right. :(

I have heard nothing that would lead me to believe the plan includes a level of improvement in the health care system for anyone.

    Control of the system? Yes.

    Improvement? No.

I’ve yet to see how they’ll deal with just Medicaid and Medicare. I heard somewhere they are already poised to cut Medicare by 1/2. How about the homeless that will never apply for any benefit even if it’s free? Believe my MIL has $96 a mo. deducted out of her SS check just for Medicare, and she never uses it! Never signed onto Part D because she refuses to take any prescription drugs. But, the Medicare is 1/10th of her SS check and that’s all she has to live on monthly. OMGosh, if that increases, she’ll have to move in with somebody. :(

Obama’s government health care plan is nearing end of life. A cost-benefit analysis has concluded that surgery would be of little or no value at this point. Give the patient a “pain killer” and send it home to die.

I disagree, T-Bone. What Obama wants to do is to force everyone into his version of the MMoore-ballyhooed Cuban-style health “care” for everyone – poor, middle, & upper class Americans alike. It’s an across-the-board shafting he’s demanding.

The only exceptions being himself/his family, Congress and the Democrat elite.

I would add create a voter block. The politics will be “Republicans want to take away your health care…” IF universal health care passes. The same message the DNC tosses at old folks about the Republicans and Social Security/Medicare. So vote for Democrats if you want to keep your health care. Vote for Republicans if you want those mean hearted right wing nut jobs to take away your ability to take little Johnnie to the ER with an ear ache. A vote for Democrats is a vote for the children of America.

Thanks for the voting dates, Mrs. Malkin!

No, this new health care plan will not raise standards for the poor. Health care standards lift with the higher ones. When I walk into a hospital with my insurance expecting a clean environment with my money, the people without insurance are walking into the same environment. When I and my insurance companies pay doctors, we give them the freedom to take less money from those who can’t afford it, or do outright charity work. When a majority of people are paying the pharmacies for their meds, it becomes feasible for pharmacies to waive the prices for those in more difficult positions. Since I pay for efficiency in those things, those things will be efficient for the less fortunate as well. If nobody can pay, or the government is running things, it becomes horrible for everyone.

I grew up on military health care. I was so happy to be able to use private insurance. Everybody I run into speaks understandable English now, and they involve me in care, and they ask what I think, and they take time to talk to me if I need talking to…And, as an oddball side note, the waiting rooms are a lot nicer. Less high school cafeteria, more parlor. Also both smaller and less crowded.

Well, I guess having no health insurance to having some kind of insurance would be considered an improvement.

You’ve seen the outcomes of the Cuban-style health “care” system Obama longs to duplicate, T-Bone? You do realize we’re talkin’ a very major step down from the free care Americans with no insurance now recieve from public hospitals? Rats, roaches, filthy linen (if there were any linen at all), extremely substandard 3rd world-vodoo “medicine”. Dunno ’bout you, but I’ll take a pass, thank you.

Allow me to parse and fix-

The Democrats plan is nothing new. They are trying to dramatically expand welfare by increasing the minimum requirements, and at the same time eliminate ALL other insurance coverage for those who do not qualify.

Every single damn policy Obama has offered has a purpose – it’s called…

    Forced Reparations

Walk away and let it bleed to death in plain view…just like a public execution. Anything else would be too generous.

What was interesting about Obama’s Rose Garden statement today was that he attacked Republicans for blocking the bill. So did Harry Reid. Didn’t they notice that it is the Blue Dogs, particularly the first-termers, that are doing the most complaining? If only the Republicans had as much spine to deserve the blame.

Even Romney and Steele came out of the 19th hole long enough to grand stand the issue. I guess they figure that if the Dems are stupid enough blame the Republicans, might as well step up and take the credit, even if you don’t deserve it.
