The anti-police bigotry of the Left

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 23, 2009 10:12 AM

Who’s surprised that President Obama trashed police officers as “stupid” on national TV and implied they were racist despite “not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that?”

This is Barack Obama, friend of cop-targeting domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, whose door sports a picture of convicted cop killer Mumia Abu Jamal.

This is Barack Obama, leader of the Democrat Party, which still embraces police-hater Al Sharpton
.

“I might be a little biased,” Obama admitted before unleashing on the police.

We know. We know.

Facts Barack Obama didn’t bother to find out before bashing the cops in the Henry Louis Gates incident:

The Cambridge cop prominent Harvard University professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. claims is a racist gave a dying Reggie Lewis mouth-to-mouth resuscitation in a desperate bid to save the Celtics [team stats] superstar’s life 16 years ago Monday.

“I wasn’t working on Reggie Lewis the basketball star. I wasn’t working on a black man. I was working on another human being,” Sgt. James Crowley, in an exclusive interview with the Herald, said of the forward’s fatal heart attack July 27, 1993, at age 27 during an off-season practice at Brandeis University, where Crowley was a campus police officer.

It’s a date Crowley still can recite by rote – and he still recalls the pain he suffered when people back then questioned whether he had done enough to save the black athlete.

“Some people were saying ‘There’s the guy who killed Reggie Lewis’ afterward. I was broken-hearted. I cried for many nights,” he said.

Crowley, 42, said he’s not a racist, despite how some have cast his actions in the Gates case. “Those who know me know I’m not,” he said.

The bottom line is that race VERY much played an issue in this event! But not in the way the media would like it to be played out. Mr Gates had made the determination that the officer was a racist the second he saw him for no other reason than the officer was white.

Canceled my cable TV shortly after “The One” was elected. I just couldn’t take that rubbish any longer.

Sometimes watch “I Dream of Jeannie” on hulu.com but that is about as racy as it gets. I think “The Hoff” would probably make me wretch too now that you mention it. And I was never a fan of Pamela Anderson…

Just as well, I believe you could catch Hep 1 &/or 2 from Pamela.

Hulu is great, along with Sling.com for some good watchin’. Another nice freebie site is:

    retrovision.tv

If you know basic html, you can copy the “embed” code from sites like Hulu and like sites. Paste the “embed” html into notepad, save it as somename.htm and open it in your browser. You don’t need to put up with all the other junk that appears on a page when you watch it at Hulu (or whatever site). Seems to reduce the “jerkiness” a bit that you might sometimes get at such sites, too.

I haven’t had cable since 2002, when it was coming outta my wall free. Then the complex switched to some Sat TV setup, but I’m not willing to pay for TV. If they ever get around to allowing ala carte viewing, where you only get the channels you want, I’ll give cable a second look.

And, of course, there’s always Netflix.

A few other sites to check out, if you’re not aware of them, would be:

    http://www.liketelevision.com

and the interesting collections at Archive.org:

It appears Mr. Gates got himself into trouble by pursuing the police officer outside his home and continuing to argue with the police officer. That just isn’t very smart regardless of your ethnicity.

Refusing to identify yourself to a police officer on a B&E call is kind of dumb too. What if the two reported thugs had been hiding inside the house or threatening Mr. Gates from behind his own door? After all, the cop just didn’t drive by and decide to roust this poor “renowned scholar.” He was called to the premises by a neighbor reporting a B&E.

I wonder what Mr. Gates said that got him busted? I doubt it was “Yes, sir” that the officer too offense to.

The answer to this question should be obvious. In THAT case – this moron would have called the officer “racist” because he DIDN’T investigate an alleged breakin.

Don’t you know it’s impossible for a white man to win in a situation like this? I dealt with it during 25 years in the NYPD.

Did anybody point to this link earlier? It is a very interesting report.

Evidently Mr. Gates knows that all police officers in Cambridge are racists.

This happened in front of a significant crowd. If I were Mr. Gates I think I would just shut my mouth and let this go away quickly and quietly. But, it seems like he is going to demand we allow him to prove himself a racist idiot beyond all reasonable doubt.

Anybody want to call Barack and let him know what actually happened?

Maybe police departments should only allow officers who are the same race as the suspect respond to calls.

Administratively it could get confusing and delay responses but it would help protect victims from racist police officers.

The only other alternative would be the “Sotomayor option” which would require hiring only non-white officers…

Any of us would be pretty angry? Really? I wouldn’t. I would be thankful the cop responded to protect my home and belongings from a possible break-in. Any reasonable person would be. And the only person who acted stupidly was Gates for attacking a cop who put himself at risk to check on a possible break-in. I think Gates smelled an opportunity to make himself a victim and took full advantage of it.

The police should offer Gates an “opt out” agreement where they agree not to respond to any 911 calls concerning his residence. They could even offer to put a sign in his yard telling neighbors not to call police in case of break-ins. Would that make Gates happy?

There’s a word that describes people who prejudge a situation without knowing all the facts. It’s called prejudice: “An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.” Obama’s words prove he is a deeply prejudiced man.

Exactly. This fellow instigated and choreographed this whole event knowing that the usual race baiting hustlers, including President Obama, would be all over it. Politicians have to be politically correct. We dont have to be. This charade is obvious. And Bama has outed himself as just another dime-a-dozen police hating scumbag liberal.

    Thought I’d double-check for a link. They’re calling it “Hands-Only ™” CPR.

AlohaGuy, I think they’re promoting Hands-Only for people that don’t know CPR. The compressions might provide most of the benefit, but I certainly don’t think they’re encouraging anyone to withhold oxygen from someone that isn’t breathing.

    From your link:

    Q. Do I still need to learn “conventional” CPR with mouth-to-mouth breathing?

    A. The AHA still recommends that you learn conventional CPR that includes mouth-to-mouth breathing. There are many medical emergencies that cause a person to be unresponsive and to stop breathing normally. In those emergencies, CPR that includes mouth-to-mouth breathing may provide more benefit than Hands-Only™ CPR.

While I did not go that far (Give up the sci-fi channel? Never!) I have found that I often go days without even turning on the news because I could end up destroying a perfectly good TV. I even avoid the net for days at a time. After a few days I get a feeling of “What the hell did I miss?”, and have to update myself, no matter how distressing it might be.
