I remember Christine Brennan writing a Post magazine column about being a woman sports reporter, in which she addressed the question of what male athletes think of women reporters like her in locker rooms. Her point was that, no, she doesn't see a whole lot, she is not a voyeur, and she has a job to do.

By the way, I can't think of any women athletes who give interviews in a state of undress that would make them uncomfortable around the opposite sex. But men do, and that's all right with them as long as they're talking to other men?

Why hasn’t any of this been done (ok, maybe it has, just no word of it yet)?

If she were to file a lawsuit against the hotel, they would ID the employee in a heartbeat.

First I've heard of this (don't monitor the pulse of latest Internet scandals anymore).

Pisses me off though, the arrogance of the people who did this.

What I'm wondering though is -- they know approx. when the video was shot (December - January) and it would be a fairly simple matter for Erin to retrace her calendar for that period, find out what hotels she stayed at, identify the location where the video was shot (the actual room), then have the ESPN lawyers subpoena the hotel records, employees, who was staying in the room next door, etc. as well as a search of the room to find the camera, if it is still installed, which may provide clues as to who installed it.

In all honesty I had no idea who Erin Andrews was or is.

Now that the news outlets and blog sites talked about Erin Andrews being filmed naked in her hotel room by a "peeping tom" I now know who Erin Andrews is.

I looked Erin Andrews up on Google and I perused a few normal, decent photographs of Erin (no nudity).

Yes, Erin Andrews is very attractive.

Yes, Erin Andrews has an impressive figure (or body).

Yes, she has an attractive, pretty face.

One could actually say, accurately, that she is a beautiful woman.

Any man or woman who accuses of Erin Andrews of causing a peeping tom to photograph her and distribute her naked image across the Internet world wide has issues. That isn't even in the same stupid class of idiotic statements as when someone blames a rape victim for the rape based on how she is dressed or that she was waiting at a bus stop, or that she allowed a "trusted friend" into her home, not knowing that he would rape her.

Blaming the victim, especially in a case like this, makes the accuser sound like someone with BIG problems.

Of course those who invaded her privacy like that and who placed her exposed, naked image taken without her permission or knowledge out there for all the world to see should be found, arrested, and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, including a hefty fine, meaning millions. The same should go for any woman or man or child who is subjected to similar abuse by ne'er do well peeping toms distributing "private" images of them as in Erin's case.

Now that I've stated my opinion regarding the violation of Erin Andrew's privacy I have a question regarding reporters and access to locker rooms.

Is Erin Andrews one of the female reporters who walk around inside male athletes' locker rooms while the athletes are dressing and undressing, showering, etc.?

Do male reporters walk around inside female athletes' locker rooms while female athletes are walking around inside, dressing and undressing, showering, etc?

If so, isn't that a double standard?

If so, why is it forced upon male athletes to endure female athletes traipsing around their locker room, while the males are assigned the moniker "pig," "offensive," etc., if they are considered rude or insensitive or disrespectful under those circumstances?

Woman treat men like that as well. Do we see or hear women berated for their similar behavior?

Will we ever see a male reporter interview the beautiful female athlete, women's Softball star Jennie Finch while she is naked or half naked in the women's team locker room?

Will we ever see a male reporter interview the women from the USA women's soccer team while they are naked or half naked in the female locker room?

I do watch sports, such as the mixed martial arts, like the UFC, as well as Football, Baseball, Basketball, Karate, Judo, Track and Field, Boxing, Equestrian, Auto Racing, Bicycling, such as the Tour d'France, Gymnastics, Swimming, Rodeo, etc.

I don't have the interest in watching the interviews in the locker room because many of the athletes tend to have terrible speaking skills. They sound like Barrack Hussein Obama (Peace Be Unto Him. Praise His Holy Name. Let every head bow at the mention of His Name. All Honor and Glory be Unto Him, our Savior, our Lord, our Messiah, Mister Hope and Change, Mister "Yes, We can!" Bow before Him in worship and submission. He will heal you of all infirmities! Give Him your worries and He will give you Peace. Have faith in Him and He will take care of all your needs .......... /sarcasm off) when they speak - with a gazillion "filler" words tossed in - "aaaahhh, uhhh, well, uuuum, uh, I, uh, like, and uh, well I uh, you know? you know? um uh, I uh ..." ad nauseum.

If I want to listen to someone with excellent speaking skills Ill listen to Dr. Thomas Sowell, Michelle Malkin, Larry Elder, Walter Williams, to name a few, but I have long ago grown tired of the mindless drivel and fillers that spew from the mouths of so many athletes. They don't appear to give any information that I can use or learn from. They just talk and answer dumb questions or they go off on a tangent and answer some question they were never even asked in the first place.

Has anyone else noticed that about athletes and interviews?

On July 24th, 2009 at 1:40 pm, Ragspierre said:

Where has common decency gone in our culture?

I mean, really…?

In a nation where misogyny, violence, and hate are considered "fair game" in so many of our communities, "common decency" is sadly dead. Standards for behavior that used to be considered essential for a thriving, vibrant people have been thrown into the sewer, in favor of stuff that that the left calls "real."

It is a culture of death, because in its natural progression, communities that have embraced it are dying. They are crime-ridden, uneducated, paranoid, populated with unmarried mothers and fatherless children, roaming their streets looking for the next means to satisfy their basest desires. They are also ending an enormous number of their pregnancies in abortion, and thus lowering their notion of the value of human life.

And this is solely a leftist phenomenon. They feed into it in order to create people who are perpetually in need, with nothing within their communities to fall back upon. Their maintaining power in the country is dependent upon the crime-ridden, blood-soaked urban areas of the country, that are, naturally, the "bluest" spots you will find. Where culture has degenerated into the most base, barbaric notions of "standards" for what is and isn't acceptable, the Democratic Party has ruled for many a decade, with no end in sight.

That is a simple, straightforward fact. It cannot be refuted.

In a nation where misogyny, violence, and hate are considered “fair game” in so many of our communities, “common decency” is sadly dead. Standards for behavior that used to be considered essential for a thriving, vibrant people have been thrown into the sewer, in favor of stuff that that the left calls “real.”

Their maintaining power in the country is dependent upon the crime-ridden, blood-soaked urban areas of the country, that are, naturally, the “bluest” spots you will find. Where culture has degenerated into the most base, barbaric notions of “standards” for what is and isn’t acceptable, the Democratic Party has ruled for many a decade, with no end in sight.

That is a simple, straightforward fact. It cannot be refuted.
