Stuck on stupid(ly)

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 26, 2009 09:47 AM

It’s jump-the-shark time for Gates-gate:

Congress would demand that President Obama apologize to the officer the president said had “acted stupidly” in the arrest of a prominent Harvard professor under a resolution set to be introduced by one Michigan lawmaker.

Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.) will introduce a House resolution on Monday demanding Obama retract and apologize for remarks he has made about Cambridge Police Sergeant James Crowley this past week.

Obama had said at his prime time press conference Wednesday that Crowley had “acted stupidly” in the arrest of Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, a racially-infused case which has sparked a national debate on race and policing.

The president refused to back down on his involvement in the case, but appeared in the White House briefing on Friday to say he had called Crowley to explain that never meant to insult the officer. (Obama also called Gates on Friday.)

McCotter’s resolution would demand Obama “retract his initial public remarks and apologize to Cambridge, Massachusetts Police Sergeant James M. Crowley for having unfairly impugned and prejudged his professional conduct in this local police response incident.”

Seriously? Doesn’t Congress have anything better to do?

Debate?? What debate? It is the usual: blacks circle the wagons around a race baiter, in this instance, Gates; while the rest of America shakes it head at what has now become a ubiquitous attempt by a black person to jump immediately to charges of racism where none obviously exist. And of course, from under their rocks, out crawl the other race hustlers: Jesse and Al, among others, to stoke the racial embers and soak up some more free pub. Not much of a debate; just more of the tiresome same.

This is the same Charlie Gibson who interviewed Obama after that Philly speech on race in 2008 and Gibson kept telling Obama: “Your speech was extraordinary”. Obama agreed with Gibson. But Gibson was downright jiggy on Friday night. Instead of reporting that Obama had jumped into the fray blaming the police officer without even gathering the facts, Gibson and George S portrayed Obama as once again riding to the rescue to bring Black and White together. Gibson reported breathlessly about how Obama had talked to both Crowley and Gates and Obama, as only Obama can, got them both to agree to sit down together and have a beer with President Obama. Charlie Gibson was so overwhelmed with Obama’s generous spirit that he (Charlie) wondered aloud what type of beer Obama would buy for the occasion. Charlie suggested Blue Moon would be the right choice. I almost expected Charlie G to break out and start dancing to Michael Jackson’s song “Black or White”.

What I’ve known about President Obama going back all the way to when I covered his years in the state legislature, is that he is most transparent when he does not think. What we saw in the press conference this week was an example of that, and all the mea culpa since has been pure damage control. In other words when ignorantly (literally not knowing the facts of the case) the President pronounced the police as having acted “stupidly” it just rolled out of him naturally. Because on the south side of Chicago it is what you are taught to think, believe, and joke about with one another as the patrol cars come cruising by.

Jesse Jackson, Rainbow-Push Coalition, and the rest of the industry of outrage that make a living off of spreading such a victimhood mentality in their communities have been doing it for years. To be very honest its one of the reasons newly immigrated blacks from Africa or the Caribbean have a very hard time fitting in to such communities. As immigrants they see the opportunities in front of them as blessings and they cannot comprehend why some domestic, multi-generational black Americans won’t seize them. Victimhood is a state of mind first and foremost. Overcoming the barriers that keeps one down is exceedingly liberating.

But on Chicago’s south side, fellow African Americans make large sums of money convincing some that they must remain angry, suspicious, and sadly–victims.

If you pay close attention to the many apology speeches Obama has given around the would, you will find that he apologizes for America and for the actions of previous administrations but he never apologizes for his own actions.

When President Obama sat there at the Summit of the Americas and timidly listened to Daniel Ortega’s hate filled speech against the U.S., he said nothing to defend his country. Instead, he said, “I’m grateful that President Ortega did not blame me for things that happened when I was three months old.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if white Americans could say the same thing? “We’re grateful that President Obama and the black community do not blame us for things that happened before we were born.”

Well… it may not entirely be a redirection away from the health care debacle. It is probably a redirection away from what ACORN has been up to.

    Take a look at this:

And… actually, ACORN, the Tides Foundation, Campaign for America’s Future, etc. are tied into the whole healthcare debacle.

It is a huge web of deception and constant redirection that is, at best, a parasite on our real government or, at worst, replacing it in stealth.

“stupid” rules in DC. One of Obama’s follow-up comments was priceless…that with everything going on today with the economy, health care, the war, you’d think the police would have better things to do than arrest an old man in his own home. hahaha!!! That’s almost as stupid as an earlier remark that he was going to fix the economy by correcting the underlying problems–including universal health care. His followers started out laughing, by now they should all be crying (and apologizing).

    from.

The story changes a lot. Even though they said Hawaii Officials saw the original in 2008, some, (CNN for one), are now saying Hawaii discarded all the long forms when they put everything on the computer in 2001. Still, that’s not saying they got rid of the information they contained, just the forms.

If you don’t believe Obama is legally qualified to be president you are likely to get called names. It’s a subject not supposed to be discussed.
Of course, I agree with you.

Also, I don’t think Biden hates America the way Obama does. I could be wrong, but I think Biden would do less damage to the country in the remaining 3 1/2 years than Obama has done in 6 months.

But Re-spend-agians stopped listening to their party faithful years ago.

So, who really cares what they do in Congress. The more they do, the more I work on ways of cutting them out of my life.

This reminds me of something I heard that was very interesting

On local radio last week, it was reported that Arkansas went McCain by 68%, but the percentage of blacks voting was at its lowest in more than 20 years. In fact, more Arkansas blacks turned out to vote in 2000 & 2004 than in 2008.

Given that a democrat stronghold such as Arkansas votes conservative on national elections (but not on local and state), I will forever wonder how much fraud was overlooked just to get the first black guy into the oval office.
