AARP does Obamacare townhall
This day of the week ends in a “y,” so it must be time to scare old people with another scripted townhall meeting:
After going a day without making public remarks on health care reform, Obama is back at it today participating in a tele-town hall at AARP headquarters. At the town hall, Obama will take questions over the phone and from AARP members in the audience about health insurance reform.
The event will be at 1:30 p.m. EST, and if you have a strong stomach you can watch a live stream here.
AARP explains the townhall meeting this way:
Tuesday’s event will be the tenth national AARP tele-town hall held as part of AARP’s Health Action Now campaign. During each town hall, hundreds of thousands of AARP members are invited to join a call where they can have their questions answered by AARP officials and other guests, which have included Nancy-Ann DeParle, director of the White House Office of Health Reform. Listeners can also ask to be connected directly to their members of Congress.
Donnellan added: “Our most important responsibility is to make sure our 40 million members have accurate, objective information about how health care reform will impact them. With the health care debate too often dominated by scare tactics and misinformation, it’s important that everyone understand the facts.”
…and when that’s not possible, have leading Democrats explain it.
My parents, now in their late 70′s, cut up their AARP cards and mailed them back years ago. The Dem spin on that would be that it’s a clear sign of advanced dementia and more evidence than ever of the need for Obamacare. My folks just never fell for the “what do you care what it costs, you’ll be dead with the bill comes due” inferential bait — but they’re really old-fashioned and actually care about their grandchildren being able to know America as they knew it. A passé notion in some circles, but still a common trait among many of us in flyover country.
By the way, you can ask your own question for today’s meeting here. Say you’re with the Huffington Post — that might help one slip by the screeners.

I will gladly go on the ice flow–with one President, one ding-a-ling from Delaware(maybe two), a whole lot of Czars, lots of CongressCritters, 60+ Senators and a bunch of smart mouths from media land.
All I ask in return is my bass boat in tow, a mini 14 and two bricks of ammo. You may call me Nanook of the Southwest.
For everyone of these preloaded preplanned PR stunts the Repubs need to have one right after it to have “some” balance in the msm.
And we need someone with lots of charisma and Mr. Steele is NOT it.
I think most of the sheeple in America are using soundbites for their news.
Repubs suk at soundbites.
pAGE 425-426 of the bill. you will be “counseled” every 5 years on how you can essentially commit assisted suicide on the government’s dime. You are old! You have a DUTY to DIE! or so the libtards say.
