Mt Weather, VA is not the place I would want to be during the next terrorist attack. Even if they were only misdirecting the enemy, I wouldn’t want to be there.

Hopefully, only Joe Biden will be there because they don’t want him participating in any government when its under attack. Shadow or otherwise.

The White House has taken on a wider role in forming a backup government in case a crisis forces officials to leave Washington.

This has always been the case. During the State of the Union Address all but one Cabinebt Sec is in attendance. Why? Should the unthinkable happen, there is someone in charge.

Moreover, there are safe rooms, bunkers if you will, in the WH and at the VP residence. Yep, there are safe places to conduct the business of Government.

Much ado about nothing.

Perhaps they’ll re-start the SAC under Cheyenne Mountain, re-start the Congressional shelter at the Greenbrier Resort and the POTUS one under Camp David.

I think this administration is much more mundane. A 55 gallon drum of botox submerged off a pier in San Fran, a bicycle and a Google Map of an escape route from St. Louis to East St. Louis for the Pizza Guy, and an abandoned shopping cart full of Momjeans under an overpass in Virginia will get these guys through…

This is the return to the way things were during the Cold War. The Military Office also had an extensive succession list if the nuclear war that never came arrived and killed most Federal officials. Perhaps they’ll re-start the SAC under Cheyenne Mountain, re-start the Congressional shelter at the Greenbrier Resort and the POTUS one under Camp David.

FEMA could be replaced with a new civil defense command and no one would complain.

I mean you remember that there was no real debate about that. It was so quick after ~~9/11~~ inauguration that it was introduced that people felt very intimidated by the administration. Obama, you speak of thyself.
