Protest sign of the day
Reader Matt S. emailed me tonight to let me know that several hundred activists turned out for an Obamacare protest in Indianapolis outside Democrat Sen. Bayh’s office. More at INteaparty.com
He sent a few photos. My favorite is the first:

And unlike libland protesters the sign has correct spelling.
Well, Obama believes in equality. He has equalized misery and suffering.
And the guy holding it isn’t saying he hates America or the Jews.
Fantastic.
Maybe we can start a new lobby called Candaians Against Obamacare.
Hey – you gotta feel sorry for Canadians!
First they have to get a passport before they can descend on our malls and outlet stores in ravenous droves.
Then Obama wants to cut off their (and our) access to quality health care
What next? They’re going to have to provide for their own defense? The horrors!
A somewhat curious question. I suspect they will continue to do what they are currently doing. Just like those from foreign countries who come here for medical treatment, they will pay. Despite what anyone thinks, we are capitalist, and cash is king.
If you can afford it, you will get good American medical treatment. If you have the money, then it is yours. Mind you, the critical element for foreigners coming to American medical treatment is that they can afford it.
It does not matter, the bottomline is if you can afford it, then you will have it.
If you can’t afford it, American health care, then you will not get it.
It is very simple.
And, remember Insurance Companies make decisions as to whether you recieve the health care you need. Foreigners who have the money do not have that problem.
Capitalism is good. Profitable medical Insurance Companies are good. And one way they make profits is not to pay for the care you expect.

Well – to their credit, the Canadian contingent in the sandbox – though small – has done a remarkable job according to my sources within the USMC. A Canadian Sniper holds the record for the most kills and longest confirmed kill (1.5 miles) of the war.
I can’t let these statements stand unanswered.
An insurance company cannot decide whether you will receive health care, or what it will be; they can only decide…in a very limited set of circumstances…what they will pay for.
Capitalists classically make money by offering things that please people enough to buy them. SOME capitalistic ventures offer shoddy goods. They are…normally…doomed to fail in what it popularly termed the process of “creative destruction”. Of course, Obamanomics has disrupted that process, and offers further disruption, assuring that ventures that should fail will not if they make the Faustian bargain.
Insurance companies do NOT make a profit by NOT providing what they contract to provide. If they follow that model, people like me will cheerfully sue them.
And, unlike liblanders, the guy is minus the long greasy hair, skin piercings and, my Lord, he is smiling!
Don’t forget the Birkenstocks, sugar-free vente latte with soy milk, Eddie Bauer backpack and North Sails t-shirt.
Volvo is optional.
Eddie Bauer is NOT a part of LibTardLand.
I wear Eddie Bauer. Doesn’t make me a granola-eatin’ LibTard. (although I admit to having made and eaten granola many times in my earlier years…healthy food choices does NOT reflect political ideology. I think. Eh, need to sleep.)
Gag. . .urp. . . .
Eddie Bauer was just sold to a private equity company, Golden Gate Capital. Sale should close next week.
“If Obama socializes medicine, where will Canadians go?
Good question, but the answer is an easy one.
Barrack Hussein Obama (Peace be Unto Him. Praise His Holy Name. All Honor, Worship, Adoration, Submission, Devotion, and Prostration be unto Him, our Lord and Savior, our Messiah, our Healer, the One who gives us all and takes all away /sarcasm off) will pay for the Canadians, including them in the “Health Care Plan” as well, just as he and his cronies bail out foreign businesses, banks, etc., with US taxpayer money.
Do you have your plot of land and your empty refrigerator box ready to live on Pauper’s Village with the rest of the US-as-third-word-poverty-striken-nation residents/citizens now that we are all going to be homeless, job less, and starving to death with our Savior and Messiah, Barrack Hussein Obama and his Apostles/Mahatmas/Prophets/Heralds in charge?
Nìce sign the guy smarter then most hippy
A subject I know well:
In a resurgence of prostate cancer there are two major therapies: radiation of the prostate bed and any “hot spots” or hormone suppression–chemical castration.
The radiation therapy does have some draw backs-it is expensive; my co-pay was $8,000. It is time consuming-one hour a day for seven weeks. As the radiation does destroy bone marrow and red blood cells along with cancer cells fatigue is a problem but abates soon after treatment stops. Back cramps from laying motionless on the table are painful but Aleve helps. But if all goes well a ten year survival rate can be expected.
With hormone hormone suppression-the cheaper but preferred method of Canada, the Veterans Administration and many HMOs you can also expect a ten year survival rate with several caveats: with the testosterone suppressed male estrogen does cause breast enlargement and the increased possibility of breast cancer–almost always fatal in a man. Osteoporosis is a given leading to the Dowagers Hump and brittle bones so you get a neat little sheet of activities you must not do. Weight gain averages 40% so you are encouraged to exercise more-but only gentle walks to protect your bones and joints. Libido is gone of course but they tell you you can have a fine, platonic relationship with your wife EXCEPT in those cases where personality changes force her to leave. Depression and suicide are also known side effects of hormone suppression but counseling and anti-depressants should help. The one upside of the hormone suppression is some men have seen a reversal of baldness.
There are SOME areas in Canada where radiation therapy is available although it is problematic if you will survive the wait time. Three different oncologist told us they NEVER recommend hormone suppression as a primary treatment but if radiation does fail even the ugly side effects are not as bad as death by prostate cancer.
The oncology clinic I went to has a rather significant Canadian following as there are some cancers Canada will not treat at all or the wait time is fatal in itself. I do fear for my children and grandchildren-if we do get ObamaCare I doubt we can ever be rid of it; ObamaCare End of Life Counseling-ie murder-will replace compassion, competence and integrity.
Prostate cancer is not my favorite subject and I am usually more reticent about it–but Obama and thugs murdering my people is worse. One of the ObamaCare ads states we must have socialized medicine or little Johnny won’t get his chemotherapy–or ObamaCare End of Life Counseling-ie murder- either.
Guard your children well-they are being threatened.
My sister and I are planning a protest on Aug. 7 at noon in front of Congress. We want to send the senators into their vacation with a bang and we would love some company!! Bring your best signs and be ready to talk about why we don’t want Obamacare!
Hope to see some of you in DC!!
Not necesarily. Maybe to walk into a doctors office paying cash will work fine but what happens for major surgery if you have to have government approval for surgery rooms in hospitals? Or the government alots hospital rooms for recovery?
One way to “cut costs” in a goverment run plan is to deny care…..something insurance companies cannot do. They can attmept to not pay for it but we have recourse through courts and the government. If the goverment runs the whole thing who will watch the watchdog?
zyzzyg asks:
What will Canadians do?
Well, they will continue to come here for their complex care issues…that is until our medical infrastructure collapses from government beaurocracy and Obamameddling.
In the end, Canadians will go the way of the US senior citizen, I guess…
I just thought of something…
Under ObamaCare, what changes will be made in obstetrics? Will we see an increase in non-viable fetuses?
The Science Czar may have a say in this…just wondering…
There is an element which feels “Life Not Worthy of Life” is a viable alternative to medicine, pensions, private property, savings, sick children and such cumbersome burdens on the collective.
Before the Jews the Nazis killed the old, the infirm, chronically ill-physical and mental. Persons capable of working but who had real or perceived genetic problems were sterilized–a most Progressive idea.
But our Progressive/fascist/Liberal is too sensitive and caring to use such vulgar terms as “Life Not Worthy of Life“, murder or genocide/infanticide/patricide so President Obama calls it “ObamaCare End of Life Counseling“. If they use a small pistol to the back of the head, gas chambers or drugs it makes little difference. Tis a Brave New World huh?
Personally I plan on fighting back but I do not wish to appear judgmental.
Consumers can also appeal their decisions-sometimes through the government court system if necessary. Once the government *is* the payer, that option realistically disappears.
Obama’s Science Czar say babies are not even human until they pass certain “socialization” milestones in life. Presumeably the Marxist State apparatus can eliminate undesireables at any time a bureaucrat chooses.
Hail Obama! The all omnicient One.

…or should that be incontinent?
Well, I guess lgm won’t have to ride his wooden bicycle to Canada for his weekly fix of socialism…
On July 28th, 2009 at 11:49 pm,
AND, unlike libtards, they are not shouting obscenities and using their middle fingers.
That is truly a frightening thought and one that had not entered my mind. But now that you bring it up…I’m sure that is in their minds. Any fetus with possible health issues…mandatory abortion. I wonder how my moonbat liberal neighbor would spin that concept, since her twin grandchildren were born premature weighing under 2 pounds. One of them died after valient efforts to try and save him. The other one survived, but only after expensive procedures, and this child will now be a “drain on our resources”. I don’t want to add to this libtard’s pain, but she is totally in the bag for Obama and every far-left agenda out there. I really want to know what she thinks of the prospect of mandatory abortion. Her little grandson would not be in her life right now if Obama gets his way.
My little 3-month-old grandson has been human since he was a 1 minute old fetus. As soon as his sex was determined, he was named. We put our hands on our daughter’s tummy and sent our love in there to him. We listened to his heartbeat. We loved him unconditionally from the very first day we knew he existed. And so did GOD. If this reality doesn’t make people wake up and take notice, then NOTHING will!! People of America…look who you have in charge of your country!!! These people are more than just your run-of-the-mill radicals. They are truly evil. They MUST be stopped at all costs.
Errah, if we go to a single payer model can we let the Canadians run it??!! Their incompetency is more efficient and they do have a better track record. Has anyone checked to see what the Canadians spend per patient verses what we spend per patient in Medicare and Medicaid? I’d bet we’ll lose on both counts.
Just another reason for northern border enforcement. We can’t have all those Canadians coming down and stealing our Mexicans’ jobs and welfare healthcare.
The death of the undesirable, counter revolutionary and economically non viable-and a few million others for sheer sake of terror- has been the means of choice of the Left for nearly a century.
So yes “eliminate undesirables at any time a bureaucrat chooses” would be correct.
You will be getting letters from the Wise Latina Lady of the Large End and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
exactly…if the military makes a mistake and takes off the wrong leg or causes some other medical calamity on a military member, he cannot sue the government! the same will be true for government health care….
what the heck?? how’d that happen to my post…geeze…someone delete it please…
Hey, all you pikers!
We’re doing a marathon on the thread for “Don’t Taze Me Bro’” on previous entry page.
Trying to hit 3,000 messages in a thread.
You have nothing better to do, right? LOL
Did you frow up?
I can understand…the Obamanator makes me sick at my stomach too.
