Good Luck! I don’t know how you stomach being around some of those folks.
I heard you on Glenn Beck yesterday. You sounded great, and right on as usual!
I finally have a TV so I can watch it live – go Michelle!!
I ended up watching it-that last facial expression on Lauer was priceless! Nice job.
If the truth be known, Matt had Michelle on his show to discredit her book.
Good job Michelle! He couldn’t take the truth.
The Today Show? Hope you know you are stepping into the snake pit.
…the lion’s den.
I wish I had a tv…but Obama hasn’t given me one yet…
ex-pat,
Every conservative knows that when then they go on the MSM, they are stepping into the snake pit.
Have to admit its funny to watch the liberals squirm and the creative camera angles used to minimise the impact of facts coming from conservatives.
GSP
“Dissent is Patriotic!-hrc”
To gunslinger:
Agreed, but given that anyting NBC for example is just a liberal echo chamber, the question arises of ‘Why bother?’ Its an uneven playing field and the other ‘team’ will do its best to show you at your worst.
MM’s Today Show stint:
Damn it, MM! You really blew it big time now! You TNT’ed the bridges behind you too! You not only kissed your 2nd Obama inaugural invitation good-bye, but no more ice cream at the D.C. press corp parties either! Oh well, at least hearing intellect so early in the morning was a welcome change from the “don’t let lame quips and rolling jokes get in the way of real news” Fox Friends trio. (E.D. Hill Come Back!!!)

Oh yea, I bought you some hair dye (flaxen silk) for your Fox anchorlady interview!
Michelle,
Awesome job on the today show. I could tell Lauer was trying to get you to slip but you are just too good for him.
I’m amazed how you were able to fit so many talking points in so few minutes. I think it made Lauers jaw drop…lol Goes to show what a constant professional you are.
I’ll be buying your book later this week.
P.S. I’m glad Michelle is on our side
Waiting for HotAir to post the video of this interview. …
Great “takin’-no-prizners” interview, Michelle! I suspect ol’ Matt will need to take a day or two off, the poor guy seemed overwhelmed.
Just one tiny item for the suggestion box: it may be helpful for some readers if you noted which Time Zone you’re citing when you announce such appearances in a post.
I’m buying the book on Saturnday. That’s my next chance to do so. I hope the book stays #1 for a long time.
Number 1 at Amazon and number 1 at B&N.
Speaking of B&N, why would someone write a review if they hadn’t, and don’t intend to read the book. Oh, that’s right ….
Example:
Posted July 14, 2009, 5:12 PM EST: I don’t think it takes a genius to realize that this book was not written over the course of the last week. This book was written BEFORE the administrations first 6 months had passed, and then tries to say something about whats happened in the first 6 months. It doesn’t take a genius to understand this opinion was formed not based on fact, because it was written about the first 6 months before they had passed. Propaganda and since I haven’t read it, I’m not rating anything other than “Research” because I don’t have to read it to use common sense and say “no research was done, the opinion about Obama’s first 6 months and first 100 days was formed before either occurred.”
As another reviewer put it:
Posted July 27, 2009, 10:13 AM EST: This is a most enlightening book on the Obama administration. The book is obviously not meant for the unintelligent person. To read it requires an open mind and the ability to independently verify facts. Given you are open minded and sufficiently intelligent enough to independently verify facts, you will enjoy the book. If you are sound byte oriented, and lack the ability to follow a concept for more then a sentence phase, the book is not for you.
That pretty much tells the libs that Michelle’s book is not for them. LOL
That’s unfair to snakes, GSP. Even they would somehow manage to wriggle outta a MSM hole.
Yup, like the split-screen insert of The One during the first part of the interview while Michelle was talking – we already know who (and what) Obama is.
By comparison, I wonder where now (unfortunately) Sen Franken’s book stands on the Amzaon rating scale? Oh I see its at #156,085.
Why not on Thorsday or Freyjaday?
( Just having some Humpday fun with typos and linguistics.
)
If interested, Michelle will also be on Sound Off Connecticut today at 10 a.m. ET (or a bit after the top of the hour) with Jim Vicevich on WTIC-AM in southern New England. You can head over hear to listen to the show live on the Internet.
The Democrat Party is a criminal enterprise.
I’m surprised he didn’t bring up your past as an Asian hore.
Matt Lauer is such a big girl
I think this book would be good to have for historical purposes. When all these socialist programs fail, we can hold up the book and say – “Told ya so.”
Hmmmm.. went into a Barnes & Noble in Manhattan yesterday. Could not find it anywhere. Didn’t have time to ask staff where it was, but will today.
Wasn’t on New Arrived table…

Wasn’t on Current Affairs table…
Hmmmm… maybe a leftist floor planner at this particular store?
Michelle! Wonderful! I just watched the video and you took complete control of that interview and got the WORD out! You must have nerves of steel! A big ATTAGIRL for representing all of us who feel just as you expressed but aren’t given the opportunity to speak directly.
Hey AWESOME! again. You brought up all sorts of controversial stuff in a small time period. Lauer wanted to refute them, but facts are facts. Lauer had nothing for you.
You looked fantastic, almost younger than usual. . . rockin the high heels on the sweet legs that we never get to see.
Great interview.
Michelle you look lovely as ever. Matt Bauer is so owned by Obama its not funny. He was holding back but that last expression told his audience that you don’t know what you are talking about….at least thats how I took it. He is so pitiful , being an owned journalist. Sad.
I paid no attention to Matt Lauer – which is as it should be.
I would be on the look out for the First Crony. I’d be watching your back. Chicagonian politicis spawn Chicagonian “accidents”. I’d definitely be checking my car’s brake lines, tailpipe and ignition. These people would stoop that low. Check you house for gas leaks, etc.
Remember soap on a rope? SOBs on ropes would be fun-on street lights from sea to shinning sea.
Matt Lauer is a dork, but not as big a va jay-jay as Harry Smith.
I can’t get the video to work!! Darn it! It goes into the loading mode, but then switches to other video clips and goes back and forth. I hope I can pull it up later, as I really want to see this one!
Matt Lauer is not an owned journalist. He is an owned talk show host.
MATT: “Ms. Malkin, you’ve often been referred to as an Asian-hore…what say you?”
That was great Michelle, you stomped Matt Lauer’s butt and he so richly deserved it!!
He expected you to back off when he confronted you, but you clobbered him with facts…….sweeeet!!
Purplepeeps-
My mistake about insulting snakes since there are some things a snake wouldn’t do. Simuliar to asking why an alligator won’t attack a lawyer: Professional courtesy.
Now sending in a mongoose disguised as an intelligent, attractive and wonderful American woman like MM-That’s a battle I like to see.
GSP
Wow Michelle, great job. No fear. Loved it.
MM was great on the Today show. Wow, Matt Lauer sure was condescending, and visibly rattled. Ha!
I can’t watch the vid. It keeps shutting down Safari. Gremlins at work?
Little Ma…try the HotAir site referenced above. That is how I finally got it. I couldn’t get it to work from the NBC site either. I wonder if they don’t want us to watch it??? Just a thought.
Michelle…that was an awesome interview!! You hit it out of the park and Lauer knew it. There was no way he could stop the truth from coming out without looking and sounding like the biased jerk he really is.
Great job MM. Lauer looked like he hated every minute of that. He seemed genuinely shocked to be hearing someone criticizing his God.
Brava! Brava! Way to go MM!! You held your own and got your points in beautifully!!
“W-w-w-w-wait…” HAHAHA! That was an excellent interview. Michelle in charge the entire time, armed with beauty, brains, and solid info. Lauer in panic mode trying to perform damage control. Perfect!
Lauer, take your marbles and go home.
A great illustration of why you are a daily-read for me. God bless you and your family.
I always find these interveiws curious. A guest comes on to discuss a book, yet they end up discussing several other non-related subjects. And, then finally address the purpose of the visit.
Unfortunately, MM will not be welcomed back on the Today show any time soon. Like, NEVER! But at least she got her licks in while she could. That corrupt station can’t handle the truth. I just wonder what possessed them to have her on in the first place?
DAMN Michelle that was SWWEEEEEEEEET! I love when you get these interviews with the pravda media because you just slice and dice. I and my family are so grateful for you getting out the truth. You are simply the best there is in the blogoshphere and of course your books tidy up all of your great posts.
I have criticized Michelle in the past for weak performances in front of the camera.
Clearly she is getting better. A *lot* better. Kudos, Michelle, for an excellent interview. You kept your cool, stayed fact-focused, smiled disarmingly when necessary, etc.
Bravo.
In this case, it was Lauer’s attempt to trip Michelle up and take attention away from the book. It didn’t work.
Um…why? Who do you think you are to criticize her performance? She is out there doing the work most of us can’t or won’t do.
That was great Michelle! I loved the last 15 seconds when poor Matt was outmatched in trying to cut you off to go to the break. Kudos to you for getting it all in despite his efforts.

I think the fact that Michelle is not the Today show host, but rather a guest, escaped zyz, Scapper!

Com’n, Scapper, let’s be fair here. First, we’ll view Rob’s performances from his frequent appearances on Today before we pass judg…….er…nevermind….
purplepeep…HA! Good comments from a fellow Minnesotan! Go Vikes! Go Gophers!
Hey, all you pikers!
We’re doing a marathon on the thread for “Don’t Taze Me Bro’” on previous entry page.
Trying to hit 3,000 messages in a thread.
You have nothing better to do, right? LOL
The only problem I see with the TV thing jang.. is that by saying it no one would know some clown can’t even spell it….
Michele, you rock!!! As my grands would say, “Matt Lauer is so last year.”

Thanks for the HotAir tip!
The look on Matt’s face at the end of the interview says he is not looking forward to the inevitable phone call from Jeffery Immelt.
Hey there, Scrapper, by the way on that – I was gonna ask you; are you a native MNsotan or a “transplant”?
Up at 6am, got the heads up you would be on at 7:14am and witnessed some pure entertainment. When my wife walked by I mentioned that Matt looked like he just bit into a sh!t sandwich when it ended. I am still laughing at that tool.
Native. I was born in Minneapolis, grew up in Richfield, and have lived in Bloomington for over 35 years. You?
Born 60-some miles north of Mpls, “growed up” (as it were) in Mpls and am currently in the same neck of the metro woods as you.
I was wondering because I was converting some old VHS tapes (before the ol’ VCR gives up the ghost) into DVDs. One of the tapes was a WCCO-TV retro look back that I taped back in the 90s. With bits from some ‘CCO kids shows – Axel, Clancy and other stuff – like Bud Kraeling doing his weather. I was thinking there’s not so many folks who might remember those days!
Oh yes, I remember those days very well! This was a great place to grow up in the 50′s and 60′s. Richfield is not so great these days. My mother died two years ago and we sold the family home of over 50 years. The whole neighborhood is pretty run-down and 99% minorities now. They have moved south from the city and it seems they have brought the slums with them. That is not a racist remark. It is a fact.
By the way, I have an autographed picture of Bud Kraeling. Do you think it is worth anything? Ha.
Love ya, Michelle! Great work this morning.
Yup, I agree. Even Mpls was a great place to grow up in back in the day. But, it’s as you say with Richfield, it’s not a great place for kids these days! It’s not really an issue of minorities, but I think more of how people conduct themselves in general nowadays. Thoughtless, with no respect for others. I think most the time my family lived in Mpls it really was a case of where we didn’t need to lock the door at night. (And that was in a working-class, blue collar neighborhood – nothing ritzy at all!)
I dunno, Scrapper – but the memory is priceless! I remember when he used to do the weather from the Foshay Tower – he had a big “weather window” so folks on the street could stop to watch & wave at the camera. So many memorable local personailties from that era – Mel Jass, Jim Hutton, Nancy Nelson & others, Dave Moore’s “Bedtime Nooz” was hilarious. Such great memories!
Michelle – Just watched the vid. You got it all in in less than 4 minutes. GREAT JOB!!
So much for you to discuss in such a short amount of time, and you did it well. The shot of Lauer at the end should be grabbed and put up somewhere with the caption, “Matt Lauer’s opinion of the book.” Great marketing tool.
Still #1 at Amazon, and it’s even the #1 bestseller in the “Conspiracy theories” section. Wahoo, you’re a Crony Conspiracist now!
My comment was more general than specific. I used the words ‘these interveiws’ (plural) and not ‘this interveiw’ (singular).
Yep, Lauer and every other host does it. He is not alone in this practice. I find it curious when he and everyone like him, in the position as a talk show host, does it.
Whatever Lauer’s motivations, or reasons, were for going on about everything but the book, are his own.
MM is an adult, a politcal commentator and can certainly handle herself. There is nothing wrong with having her address the politics of the day.
However, when you say the reason you have someone there is to discuss a book, discuss the book, first. Maybe invite the guest back in the following segment to discuss additional issues.
And, no. Nothing escaped me. Though it seems ‘plural’ vs ‘singular’ escaped someone.
New shoes for the kids this year!
And I didn’t even mention “I before E except after C”, zyz. (Oops, I just did!)
More like for the “next 3 years, too”, AlohaGuy. Michelle will have to keep the book current re: the Obama gang’s ongoing culture of corruption!
Michelle, please give us a new thread specifically to discuss
Regardless of Birth Certificate, this is a serious Constitutional issue:
1) The issue is Presidential eligibility, not merely birth location.
2) The Constitution explicitly requires that
3) Nowhere in the original Constitution, its ratified Amendments, or Supreme Court decisions, is the term “natural born citizen” conclusively defined.
In more than one Supreme Court decision, however, doubts have been raised as to whether a person such as Obama (born to a father who was never a U.S. citizen) can be considered a “natural born citizen”. For example, in “Minor v Happersett”, (1875, more than six years after the 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868) the Supreme Court said:
4) Any consideration of the founders’ original intent for Presidential eligibility must take into account the writings of the man who became the first Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court (John Jay).
On July 25th, 1787, John Jay wrote the following to George Washington, then Presiding Officer of the Constitutional Convention:
It was this letter that caused Clause 5 of Article II to exist in our Constitution. Since the oldest natural born citizens in 1787 were only 11 years old, a grandfather clause was included for those who were citizens at the time of the Constitution’s adoption. But the clear intent was to disqualify “Foreigners” from becoming President and Commander in Chief of our armed forces.
5) On a web site run by the Obama campaign (it explicitly stated “PAID FOR BY OBAMA FOR AMERICA” at the bottom of the page), it was openly admitted that Barack Obama had FOREIGN citizenship from birth until his 21st birthday.
I think it is pretty clear that John Jay and George Washington, our first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and first President, would “declare expressly” that Barack Hussein Obama (also known as Barry Soetoro, Indonesian citizen) is NOT eligible to hold the office of President.
When Michelle posts on the topic, Pill, that’ll be the place to comment on it. But she has already pondered some time back why it should be a problem to open the longform BC to public inspection.
BRAVO MICHELLE!
Matt was struggling to come up with a curve ball.
He couldn’t against Michelle’s fiery responses.
Great visual.
No doubt. At this rate there will have to be eight installments to keep up with it all.
On July 29th, 2009 at 4:45 pm, purplepeep said:
She said this was an open thread, so my comment is perfectly acceptable in this thread.
You miss the point – the longform BC is a completely separate issue.
Obama’s own campaign admitted that he had foreign citizenship from birth (as a British subject) through his 21st birthday (as a Kenyan citizen).
Wake up! He didn’t have to be born in Kenya to be a Kenyan citizen. His own campaign admitted that he was, due to the citizenship of his father!
We don’t need a longform BC to show that Obama was exactly the type of person that first Chief Justice John Jay (nominated by first President George Washington) intendend to exclude from eligibility to hold the office of President.
You either aren’t smart enough to understand that, or you are and you are trying to obfuscate the issue.
The only way the longform BC becomes relevant is if it shows a different father (or no father) for Obama. Then the argument could be made that he is eligible to hold the office of President, but then he would also be guilty of forgery, perjury, obstruction of justice, etc., etc., etc.!
A stunning appearance by the The Goddess, coupled with a stunning performance.
If I were Lauer in that take-down masquerading as an “interview,” I’d be torn as to what to say: I’d be either cringing on my chair while whimpering “Don’t hurt me!” or getting down on my knees, ripping my shirt open and pleading, “Do that again!”
More likely the latter.
I think, in post context, she had in mind more her interview on “Today” for folks to “talk amongst”, Pill. But since Scrapper and I went off on to our own little off-topic confab here, I can’t very well cite you as an “offender”, can I? lol
But on this:
I was trying to find a polite way to say it probably ain’t gonna happen, since I believe Michelle is not all that anxious to “go there” in general. Note a previous MM post:
Supreme Court turns down Obama citizenship appeal
(It doesn’t hurt anything for you to ask though.)
Heh heh, I love it when you tell ‘em like it is, Michelle
