At the New York Post, Meghan Clyne profiles the Obama/Holder Justice Department’s latest fabulous addition, Jennifer Daskal, formerly “senior counterterrorism counsel” at Human Rights Watch. Daskal has no prosecutorial experience; she is, however, an activist of the hard left, which now evidently qualifies lawyers to serve as political appointees in DOJ’s National Security Division. She’s been tapped to shape detainee policy as part of Obama’s Detention Policy Task Force (that’s the task force I declined an invitation to meet with this past spring, as explained in this letter to Attorney General Holder).

The NBPP member has not stayed away from expressing his views on a social media site like MySpace. Mr. Jackson’s(WARNING DISTURBING CONTENT) MySpace site is chock full of disturbing images with explicit racial overtones. A sample of some of the phrases and images on his MySpace page include:

“F*** Whitey’s Christmas”

A photoshopped movie poster of the “Bourne Supremacy” is re-worded to say “The Bourne White Supremacy” A swastika is added to Matt Damon’s cheek, and the scope of his firearm is photoshopped to look as if he is about to shoot a black man. The “n” word is used to describe who Matt Damon hates in this movie poster. The New Black Panther Party member also tacks on the phrase, “They should have just stayed in Africa.”

When Gates started mouthing off Crowley should have done what you or I or any other civilian would have to do: walk away.

Conservatives shouldn’t applaud someone being arrested for talking, no matter how offensive and absurd the speech is.

Officer Crowley WAS walking away, but Gates followed him outside and insisted on shouting at the officer and disturbing the peace even after he was warned to be quiet. Gates wasn’t just “talking”, he was also interfering with the Officer’s attempt to perform his duty and finish his investigation.

If you think free speech should be an absolute right, try “talking” smack to a judge in court and see where that lands you. In fact, try talking smack to the Supreme Court while in session and see if they consider your free speech rights to be absolute.

We have more than just the 1st amendment in the constitution. We also have a 2nd amendment right to bear arms. So try insisting on your right to bear arms when a police officer orders you to put down your weapon. You may feel you have a constitutional right to refuse the Officer’s request, but you’d be wrong – dead wrong. And the Officer will enjoy a paid vacation until the investigation of your shooting exhonorates him.
