Catching up with Obama’s illegal alien auntie

By Michelle Malkin  •  July 31, 2009 09:23 AM

The Boston Herald has a very informative piece today on Obama’s illegal alien aunti, Zeituni Onyango.

You’ll be happy to know she’s back in taxpayer-subsidized public housing. Make sure you go to the Herald site to see her kicking back in pearls.

Also:

“Boston is my second home,” she said. “(South Boston) is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever lived in. People are very kind, and I’m enjoying the beaches.”

Only in America…

Yes, this is a teachable moment. When does Auntie Zeituni get invited for a White House beer summit?

No it isn’t right that she has circumvented the system. But sending her knowingly into harm’s way isn’t right either. Despite what folks want to say about conservatives we are not really hard hearted. Its probably cheaper just to keep her where she is.

I agree, but first her immigration status needs to be changed. If, as jsmiddleton4 speculates, she would be harmed returning to Kenya, then she should apply for political asylum. If she can prove her case then she will get the asylum and that would put her here legally. Then, as tiredofit08 suggests, her expenses can be paid by her liberal friends.

Otherwise she should be put on a bus to NY City where she can calim she is homeless and Bloomberg can purchase her a one-way ticket out of the country.

In a survey of relatively ‘poor’ people taken throughout the world reveals that about 80%+ say they would like to come to the US. Yet, our nation is having difficulty accommodating 2-3 million newcomers each year. How many of the world’s poor can we reasonably accept? And, where is the breaking point? (ie. we can’t be the refuge of everyone from everywhere…)

People that knowingly enter or remain in the US despite (not because of) our laws should be subject to automatic no-appeal removal. Even the Obama’s auntie. Period. End of story.

I could not agree more. the root cause of most of our problems in this country stem from the failure to do precisely what you have described.

The very people who put the laws on the books complain about their enforcement. But they need the laws on the books for political cover. However, heaven help the poor sould who attempts to enforce those laws.

But politicians need chaos in order to survive in office.

Absolutely; my point is, at this moment in time I have other, far more urgent things on my mind and heart.

It’s a sorry fact that she is still here because the system has failed to enforce the law. But she is here, there is a third hearing scheduled, and in the meantime, your tax dollars and mine are paying to support her sorry a$$. If she’s still here, my point is, let OB and his bitter half pay the freight instead of pushing that responsibility off on us.

Really this is such an outrage, although I am not “purple with rage” about it, because it is necessary to decompress sometimes so as to avoid premature death from spontaneous combustion.

But truly…it is a freakin’ outrage!

Clearly the political tides are moving strongly against civilized people; the third-world cultures of Latin America and the Middle East are everywhere pressing against the achievements of Western civilization.

So with the tides against us, it is hard to win political victories. Many laws have been passed ~against~ the constitution and in favor of the claims of the unwashed against the achievements of the hardworking and successful.

But what really, really makes me purple with rage about the illegal immigration situation is that even when we conservatives have majority opinion and the law on our side, the elites simply flout the law! Their refusal to execute the laws is, well, ~criminal~. But the MSM, the legal profession, and the political elites have all decided that they don’t give a hoot about the law. They will have it their own way…no matter.

Faced with this kind of kind of lawlessness and contempt for the constitution and democratic will of the people, I increasingly despair of responding within the democratic process. I just hope that the next person who blows up a federal building will be more careful to find one that is filled with the evil-doers rather than with so many innocents.

I’m saying due to the publicity folks who would kidnap others for ransom, etc., would eye her as a valuable prize. How many folks would jump at the opportunity to hold the President of the United States aunt as ransom? Remember we’re talking Kenya here.

I’m speculating her safety could be at risk simply because of who she is and the publicity that has come from her family ties.

That isn’t really political asylum. At least in terms of how I understand political asylum.

One can only imagine the press this would receive. “Hard nose anti-immigrationist right wing kooks force Aunt Obama back to Kenya where she has been kidnapped and held for ransom.”

I do not like the fact that this lady is here illegally. I would also have a hard time being consistent with my own values if I acted in a way that knowingly put this lady in harm’s way. I’ve been to Kenya. Worked from it when I was doing medical relief in Sudan. While I am speculating, I am not fantasizing. I was at the American Embassy the day before it was bombed. Even then we did not walk down town by ourselves. It has gotten worse, much worse, over the last couple of years.

No argument here; I have long maintained that if we are no longer a nation of laws, then we have indeed lost the republic that the Founding Fathers so carefully crafted for us.

And we (the voters as a whole) have no one to blame but ourselves – that includes those who have the right/responsibility to vote, but don’t, or who are too incurious about the people for whom they are voting to ensure that they are people of good character who will uphold the Constitution (an oath that too many of our politicians have forsworn).

Where is the money coming from? Is her attorney giving her living expenses? Is he representing her pro bono? What does he stand to gain, other than notoriety? This stinks!

Why is Mr. President allowing this to continue? He is costing the taxpayer money, and is allowing national resources to be wasted on prosecuting Onyango.

So why is this now our problem? She should have thought of this before coming here illegally. The only thing she’ll be good for is a “teachable moment” when Obama has the gall (he doesn’t have balls) to bring up Immigration Reform (i.e; making all illegals legal and Democrat voters!). Maybe she will help sink that coming bill by showing that these people are a complete drain on our system!

Depends on the mood, but here are some:

    Highland Park (18 or 25 y/o)
    Macallan Anniversary Malt (25)
    The Dalmore Stillman’s Dram (28 or 30)
Glenmorangie Cote d’Nuis (no longer made)
Glenfiddich 40y/o (a little pricy, but heaven on earth)
The Glenlivet Archive (great gift bottle to give, as well)
    Glenfarclas (31)

And a lot of specialty bottlings. Of course, be sure to drink it neat when the whisky is old enough to be out on its own (above 18 years).

Neat, as in no ice, but I’ve always heard that a drop of still water helps bring out the whisky’s flavors.

Most good Scotches are out of my price range right now – the stereotypical champagne tastes, beer budget, except mine tends more toward a water budget right now. :-P

I did manage to try a twelve year old Macallan not too long ago. It was nice and smooth on the tongue – very different than Laphroaig (I did like Laphroaig’s smokiness, though my other half didn’t care for it – but he’s not much of a whisky drinker).

Since I grew up in a tea-totaling family, I’ve been trying to educate myself on the finer points – and single malts definitely qualify as finer points. It’s a pleasure conversing/corresponding with someone who also appreciates such things. :-)

He could have the Secret Service hop over to South Boston in a boat, or maybe have Teddie pick her up in his yacht.

BTW – has good ol’ Teddie ever invited Obama’s auntie over for a dinner party at the Kennedy compound? After all, Teddie is all for uncontrolled immigration – as long as it stays OUTSIDE his compound walls.

Since Obama has $50,000 to spend on ONE FRIGGIN’ WEEK, maybe he could pay for his auntie’s rent until she is deported.

She should have complied with the court’s orders. She refused, and chose to ride it out in hopes of “another bite at the apple” came along.

She could not prove that she would be persecuted if she had to return to Kenya, to live with the rest of the Obama relatives who, as far as I can see, might be economically disadvantaged, but that doesn’t exactly meet the standard of persecution or torture for a grant of asylum. Though I’d imagine she and her supporters would consider the loss of the free ride in the manner to which she is accustomed in the US “torture.”

Her nephew has now bought her many more years of yet another round of due process through the impossibly backlogged immigration courts.

I’ts no secret how game our immigration system and remain in the US when one has no other means to remain legally. Just file an asylum application, whether the claim is real or not….and wait. And appeal. And, if you’ve got the means or ability to hire a high-priced lawyer, just start over and try again.

The mainstay of retorts by the Left as to anyone who criticized Obama’s illegal alien auntie (living in the U.S. on taxpayer-funded services [housing, healthcare, probably food and more] while also defying several previous deportation orders) was that this illegal alien auntie was “frail, elderly.”

The woman is still in her fifties, hardly deemed “elderly”. And she’s not looking so frail, either, nor ever was.

The original news from the liberal media (even they addressed this issue a year ago when the illegal alien auntie was discovered in Boston) was that she “receives a stipend from the local senior center” (or it might have been the local housing authority…), but the point is, she’s drawing a salary, she’s receiving healthcare services under Medicaid, she’s receiving Social Security payments (SSI, welfare), she’s in public housing…what ELSE can she exploit that the U.S. taxpayers fund in order to pay for expenses by struggling U.S. CITIZENS (not illegal aliens)?

She’s getting lawyers to assist her, on top of all that, and I strongly doubt she’s paying anyone anything. A citizen has to come up with a sizable deposit to get any attorney to even discuss a case with them…

What boggles the mind, most of all, is that she’s already received deportation orders and has refused to honor them. What judge, what JUDGE, would even tolerate her appearing again to even debate this situation?

That initial news about the woman, also, from a Boston site, quoted the illegal alien auntie as “coming and going” to and from Africa and the U.S. and speaking with a great deal of enjoyment about the happy visits back in Africa, just as she’s now speaking about her happy times in Boston. She then has said she needs asylum due to undue pressures “back home” (in Africa). Not to mention the glaring question as to how it is she’s paying for airfare “back and forth” for those happy times in Africa…
