Into the lion’s den: My encounter with The View; Vid link added

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 3, 2009 12:42 PM

Just finished up on The View, where I sparred with the ladies about Culture of Corruption.

You can watch a bit of it at RCP and I’m sure Hot Air will have highlights up soon.

Update: Here’s the vid at Hot Air.

Best part: Every single member of the audience got a copy of the book!

Second best part: Whoopi Goldberg, who didn’t read the book, asserting that I called the administration the most corrupt ever in the book when I was on the set — and then waiting for me to leave to falsely assert that “that young lady” said it on the Today Show.

No, I didn’t. Here’s the video.

As I said on the show, my argument is that the Obama administration needs to be held to its own standards and rhetoric — and by that standard, it is one of the most corrupt in recent history — a point I made on the Hannity show last Monday when I launched.

You know you’ve won the argument when the ladies of the View are reduced to arguing how corrupt Team Obama is, and not whether.

Grat job Michelle. You handled them effectively, politely and clearly showed your knowledge of the issues versus making statements and then claiming you’re just reading what someone gave you (Whoopi!).

If women in America watch The View to get truthful information, I feel sorry for them. There was MM trying to get the truth out and 3 out of 4 people were arguing with her about it. They didn’t say hey, you are right. This is bad. They rationalized the bad behavior because they support liberal policies. By any means necessary. Talk about acting stupidly. Shameful.

OK, I finally got to watch the video.

    WOW! You totally kicked a$$!

That was so fascinating and went by so fast it didn’t seem like seven minutes. I had predicted in a thread at Hot Air over the weekend that 3 liberals against 1 Michelle Malkin wouldn’t be a fair fight, but the liberals would just have to survive as best they could. You proved me right. The only defense I could hear was blaming Bush and half-hearted attempts to say that everybody is crooked so who are you going to find who isn’t.

Here’s a modified version of the haiku I posted over the weekend:

    Great Warrior Malkin
Rides to the land of The View.
    The liberals tremble.

Michelle – I think even Billy Crystal would agree, you were mah-velous on The View!

Additionally I’d guess that, of many of those who watched the show who do not know you, they will now remember you and respect you for one thing, regardless of your book or any other of the honest and logical points you made on the show, and that is when you replied to Joy Behar – standing your ground on Iraq .

I think that alone may have resonated more loudly than you may realize as witnessed by the stunned silence of the audience, (save a couple moonbat hecklers).

Slap a liberal everyday no matter who is in the WH, no we will not EVER let you get away with your lie that you “support the troops but are against the war”.

Then it wouldn’t be THE View. It would be Two Views. We can’t have that! There is only one valid view; other views are irrelevant and to be ridiculed.

Thank you for clearing that up, Dex. That was right in front of my face and I never realized it! Here’s a great quote along similar lines.

Nothing so infuriates champions of ‘Diversity’ as much as an opinion diverse from their own.

That was a pleasure to watch! Kudos, Michelle, on a job well done. You didn’t let them interrupt, sidetrack or distract you. Pointing out that Whoopi didn’t even know what she was talking about with the notes she was prefed was worth the price of admission.

Notice how conservatives are willing to go onto the most virulently liberal talk shows, but the liberals are too cowardly to do so?

Of course, any politician too afraid to have open forums/townhall meetings with his/her constituents is hardly a profile in courage, are they?

Michelle, I keep hearing people asking why you didn’t write such a book about the Bush administration. Not only have you written extensively about the corruption during that period in your blog, but books upon books have been written by others about the subject ad nauseum. Now liberals are feeling queasy, and it’s only just begun.

Whenever a lib tries to obfuscate like that, bring it back to Obama and the current administration.

They can’t defend it, so they have to deflect.

Terrific job Michelle. I loved how Joy smiled after asking the Bush question (boy, is the but Bush whine getting tired) as if she really thought in her head she “got” you. What a tool. I cannot believe the harpies would have thought they could compete, it was apparent you knew your stuff from the get go! This attack the messengers ploy from the left is not working so well anymore. Even where I live, I am finding people apologizing for voting for the scam artist that is Obama. I am so glad we have people like you doing the dirty work. Remember, the nastier the lefties get means you are doing your job. People sure hate having a light shown on their corruption, unfortunately it will be the voters who have to do something, when the big boss is just as corrupt and is in charge of justice, nothing will get done.

Fabulous job on Today, Michelle! Bold, articulate, confident. Could not have been better.

(I was a little concerned at the obvious MM nervousness on the ABC round table Sunday. Our gal has done a lot of TV but nothing compared to the amount of time many of those old, familiar, MSM favorites have had. And being surrounded by the enemy where there will only be a few brief moments to speak, some of which will be directed by the host and not at the times and on the subjects of most interest, is very nervous-making. A valuable experience, though. Great to see MM totally on top of her game in this more reasonable setting, despite the despicable PC lackey, Matt Lauer.)

And ~GREAT~ job on the view, MM!

Gosh, you wrestled their whole little mob to the ground. Made that contemptible Joy woman look like a completely mindless leftie nutjob.

(Reflecting on the difference between The View and the ABC Roundtable….The view crowd is lightweights and MM was positioned as the “star attraction” of the segment, even if despised. So it was possible for her to take command of the situation, which she did splendidly. That Roundtable thing is loaded with people who — deservedly or not — have commentary chops. It is just real hard for a lone voice to make itself heard in that sort of situation.)

To anyone who was paying attention, Whoopi and Joy just outed themselves as uninformed hacks. They tried so desperately to paint you as a “one-hit wonder” who happened to write a book, as opposed to a researcher, pundit, and author with nearly 2 decades of experience. The View women are all shallow as puddles and you overwhelmed them with a tidal wave of gravitas.
