Into the lion’s den: My encounter with The View; Vid link added
Just finished up on The View, where I sparred with the ladies about Culture of Corruption.

Best part: Every single member of the audience got a copy of the book!
Second best part: Whoopi Goldberg, who didn’t read the book, asserting that I called the administration the most corrupt ever in the book when I was on the set — and then waiting for me to leave to falsely assert that “that young lady” said it on the Today Show.
No, I didn’t. Here’s the video.
As I said on the show, my argument is that the Obama administration needs to be held to its own standards and rhetoric — and by that standard, it is one of the most corrupt in recent history — a point I made on the Hannity show last Monday when I launched.
You know you’ve won the argument when the ladies of the View are reduced to arguing how corrupt Team Obama is, and not whether.

Wow! I seriously can’t stand watching The View, because the hosts spend all of their time talking over their guests– way to take control, Michelle!!
The sad thing about your whole segment (which was brilliant) was that it vividly underscored just how pathetic Elizabeth is at standing up for conservative values and conservative guests.
Note that while you were on, it was 3 on 1 as far as commentary went outside of Elizabeth’s intro. Was she told to shut up, or is she just that spineless?
So many juicy, idiotic statements from that panel of hacks, it’s hard to say which was the most shameful (though the post-appearance lie about what you had said is a top runner).
Regardless, they had nothing to come back at you with reagrding the facts in your book. Great job.

Earlier in the discussion, prior to MM’s interview, she was about ready to pop Joy a good one with Joy’s everpresent attack on all things “Bush”. She really is a one-note lib!

Great job! Loved seeing the spew girls unable to argue. Nice to have them exposed for having opinions without having read the material first. Gee, sounds like Congress. Bottom line is that voters have a responsibility to be informed with the facts prior to an election. Voting for the cool guy doesn’t make for good governance.
She’s always too quiet, in my opinion. She’s the only conservative on a panel of loud-mouthed liberals and it seems as if she can never really make a solid case for her cause, when lots of other women can.
Just an observation.
What I dearly love is Michelle will walk onto The View, because she has the facts and a thorough knowledge of the topic to be discussed.
What is to fear in that circumstance?

I watched MM’s appearance on the Veiw. My take away follows -
I was curious about the quote that Whoopi referenced but did not read on air? ” . . . the most corrupt ever . . . ” vs. ” . . . one of the most corrupt in recent history . . . ” and, the source of the quote was incorrect. OK, that being the case, she will do as she always does, and apologize when she has stepped in it.
We know Joy cannot move forward without a complete accounting of Pres Bush’s tenure. The comment about “friendly” suggests an a priori knowledge that the encounter would be acrimonious.
Sherri’s question/comment/statement was more accurate as to the reason why Pres Obama was elected. People were disenchanted with Pres Bush. The answer to her was very good, both in substance and especially style. More are caught with honey vice vinegar.
Hindsight is supposed to be 20/20 and am curious as to how any view of Iraq has not been modified, at least slightly. Further, Pres Obama has always been consistent in his approach to Afghanistan. The two should not be conflated. One was reactionary, and the other pre-emptory.
How often do hosts read the guests book? Had always thought that producers/interns etc. read and prepared questions. Even Elizabeth admitted she had not completed it.
Great that the book is dedicated to Whistle Blowers.
Other TV appearances have been announced before the fact. I wonder why there was no announcement before this TV appearance?

She has a toddler and a preschooler at home who probably demonstrate better manners.
I just popped out kid #4 and let me tell you if I had been in her position the last few weeks of my pregnancy I probably would have sat there silently with a bucket of tennis balls and just beaned them anytime they said something stupid. They’re not worth expending any more energy than that.

If she is too weak to talk on a, ahem, “talk show”, why isn’t she already on leave? She can’t stay pregnant forever and she hasn’t been continuously pregnant while on that “panel”. When will the conditions be perfect for her to summon the energy to talk?
If she’s merely window dressing, just admit it, but I am tired of hearing people hold her up as some sort of voice of reason on that despicable program when she never seems to use that voice (for whatever reason…being preggers, being outnumbered, being too sensitive, bad hair day, etc, etc). When will the planets be in alignment for her to actually have a voice on that show and use it consistently?
That’s my whole point. If they want to be taken seriously in any way, get a conservative who CAN be a conservative on that show without making excuses. Michelle just showed how it can be done. It obviously wasn’t that hard to shut them up with common sense and facts.
Well, I can finally say that I’ve been exposed to “The View.” Ugh.
It was exactly what I expected:
- Michelle, fresh from writing an exhaustively-researched book, with facts at her fingertips and able to name names and link them to specific acts of corruption; vs.
- a coterie of left-wing Harpies who obviously hadn’t read the book and whose only resorts were to offer distortions, hyperbole and lame “…B-b-but GEORGE BUSH!!” tu quoque garbage. Pathetic.
Michelle coped with them all beautifully; the only things she lacked were a whip and a chair.
I agree 100%. She has been just showing up for a long time. She is still collecting a pay check isn’t she? So, unless they are paying her to be a doormat, she isn’t earning her keep. She allows herself to be constantly interrupted without a fight. And even when she appears on conservative talk shows, she defends the others on that horrible show and is so politically correct. If they are going to have a conservative voice represented in that sewer, they need to get a man, so at least we will know he has ba11s.

If there was evidence of Obama not being a NBC, it has been scrubbed by now.
I wish someone could get a judge to subpoena Obama’s Occidental College student financial aid records, to see if the rumor he attended as an Indonesian citizen and received foreign aid was true.

She does speak up on occasion. But, you have to know that the producers of that show (Baba Wawa?) don’t WANT a conservative co-host that is assertive and outspoken. I really feel for Elisabeth for going on that show day after day and getting beaten up and dismissed as she is.
Still, it would be nice if someone like MM, Ann Coulter, Monica Crowley, or even Laura Ingraham were on instead. The producers and hosts would never tolerate a conservative with spine as a co-host.

I almost didn’t watch because I thought they were going to shout her down to the sound of cheering from the View audience who obviously love the loony ladies and don’t have actual jobs.
Michelle stayed rivited on topic and was not in the least swayed even by Behar looking like she just swallowed a large insect. The View mantra is that conservatives as a rule are inarticulate, ignorant and crude. Michelle turned that back in their faces.

Goldberg is proud of herself for self-administering an abortion with a coat hanger. It was pre-Roe, but both California and New York (the two states she lived in during that time) had legalized early term elective abortions by then. Maybe she didn’t feel like paying for it, and this was before Rudy Giuliani regularly sent large checks to Planned Parenthood to subsidize abortions. I don’t know.
But she creeps me out in a major way.

They admitted Obama is corrupt and defended it by saying Change is not possible – Where were they during the election?
She did great. Countered the nonsense from Behar and Goldberg and then got cheer from the crowd. Even more importantly, the audience got a copy of the book and I think many hearts and minds will come over to the conservative side and see what Michelle is proving, that Obama and his cronies are corrupt.

I was surprised at how subdued Whoopi was acting. I expected her to bring out the “you’re a traitor to your race” card or to call her an “oriental.” By the way, if you want to make an Asian-American really angry, just call them “oriental” and then step back to avoid the explosions.
Oriental is just Spanish for Eastern. IE, the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Sierra Madre Oriental.
