The smell of desperation: White House unleashes on Internet critics
The White House is using your tax dollars to go after the Drudge Report for linking to the Naked Emperor News video compilation of Obama and other Dems telegraphing how their “health care reforms” will lead to single payer.
Take a whiff of the White House bashing of Internet opponents: This is the smell of desperation.
Their lead attack dog? Former ABC News correspondent Linda Douglass.
Douglass is identified as the communications director for the White House Office of Health Reform.
That’s the office of the interest-conflicted White House health czar, Nancy DeParle, whose industry ties have received little scrutiny as the administration convenes secret meetings with health care execs.

Inbred. Incestuous. Dangerous.
What’s with the Dracula collar on the lead attack dog?
They cannot have an informed public. It would be un-American!
What is exactly wrong with pointing out that video has been photo shopped?
You can chart the time-line here, and note the point at which it became “health insurance reform”. It was recent, and came as a result of focus grouping messages that resonated with voters.
Linda Douglas is just another liar.
Pigs!
I know ABC is just a farm league for the White House, but, Linda Douglass is not exactly an up and coming prospect!
They’re just angry because The People don’t believe him, and those who did have hope & faith in him are questioning it.
Once this too gets out more into the general public, The People won’t like the WH gathering a hit list against its critics.
This WH likes learning lessons the hard way. Good.
This is the administration that claimed that it could to do more than one thing at a time. Of course, once you throw out the need to be effective, there is no limit to how many projects you can take on.
Hey, I can juggle 15 balls at once (so long as you don’t count my dropping 14 of them)!
I thank the left for teaching us all about the ends justifying the means. Karma sucks! I don’t care how they do it, just get him out!
Is Barry still denying that he plans to destroy the coal industry or are evil conservatives lying about that, too?
My karma just ran over their dogma.
Mchristian – yes, Barry said everyone else is lying. He says he is as honest as the day is long.
Note the link to report your fellow citizens on the whitehouse webpage.
Damn! These people are so sensitive!
http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/Facts-Are-Stubborn-Things/
The link to report your fellow citizen is on this web page about half way down.
Just make sure you spell my name right. Thanks.
Here’s a scary headline:
“Duncan Wields $100 Billion to Make U.S. Schools Like Chicago’s”
Of course, that would be a spectacular improvement in CA.
Nixon had a similar hit list created of those that didn’t like his administration. I remember, the press found out jumped all over it.
Now, The B.O. has created his hit list and the knuckle-dragging press licks his boots and tells us we’re ee-vil to dissent to socialism.
Now you know why intelligent people cannot comprehend liberals. We think that human life means at least a modicum of logical thought. Then we encounter hypocritical liberals (I know, that’s redundant) and they wonder why we question evolution.
The Achilles heel of the arrogant is arrogance.

Besides the fact that it’s a lie? Why, nothing at all! LOL!
Here’s a similar video that’s slightly more comprehensive than the Emperor’s Naked News one.
Neither one of these videos involved technology from Industrial Light & Magic or Pixar. Sorry about your brainwashing, you bunch of useful idiots.
Obama loved the idea of single payer before being elected. Now he’s saying “No no no, we’re not going to change all that much!” So what changed his mind, you little mushbrained lefties?
They LIE! It’s that simple!!!
The phrase of the day, courtesy of my co-blogger Shoebox, is “Out of context”.
A good argument for me to educate my kids in New Zealand.
I’m amused that the government thinks it can effectively handle chain emails. There’s a certain hubris to it all.
The fact that they are enlisting the help of liberals to report back to them… yeah, nothing too Orwellian about that.
Like I said, just make sure you spell my name right.
s. o. n. o. f. d. y.
Oh yes, everything has been taken “out of context.” ah huh
I suggest that Drudge gets some garlic and silver bullets, that will protect him from the vampires in the White House.
That is from the whitehouse web site. Now place yourself in Germany say 1938 and read the following.
hhhhmmmmmm….
They appear to be blaming the editor for the author’s words.
BTW – Aren’t the sixties over? What’s up with Linda Douglas’ helmet hair?
Rep. Schakowsky’s response to the video posting would be humorous if it weren’t so deceitful. She ignores that she fully endorsed a single-payer system and claims it’s all about competition.
Holy crap, this is a must read.
From the actual news item:
In other words, it’s a deliberate lie from Republicans. It’s having enough impact that the White House bothers to produce a video to set the record straight. Maybe that’s desperation, but channeling Goldwater, desperation in the cause of truth is no vice.
Felix Dzerzhinsky (head of the NKVD) used to have people arrested at random. It didn’t matter if they had committed a crime or not. After a bit of torture, whether they said anything or not, he would arrest some of their friends and then kept repeating the process.
Needless to say, this had a detrimental affect on personal relationships; no one spoke to casual friends because no one could be trusted. You had no idea if one of your friends would get arrested and talk, and that might mean a 9mm brain hemorrhage for you.
The B.O. knows what he’s doing.
Please cite the exact part of the video in question that is a lie.
Hint, its not on the whitehouse website.
Well, then…that is going to earn that video a few more “forwards.”
What, like Micheal Moore?
Why does any criticism of Obama automatically make one a Republican? Are you that shallow?
Notice what the MSM will not cover is as important as what they do. Linda is now the head of the Obamacare propaganda office.
interesting….everybody has an opinion on the health bill….only two or three have read it….nobody understands it….but it could work? or not? but what ever we just don’t have the time to read it? So Hope that this will Change something or other……

Gee, I hope no one floods that Whitehouse email address with bogus tips.
More reason for desperation:

Anytime a Democrat-Socialist-Marxist is recorded, you can rest assured that there are lies present.
To the neo-Marxists in power, there is a different truth for each person. So desperation in this case is a wild goose chase.
or you could say it another way…
“Pride goes before destruction,
a haughty spirit before a fall”.
His Arrogance will be his downfall. It’s sorta fun to watch but really sucks for our country.
“Here’s the guarantee I make. If you have insurance you like you will be allowed to keep it…”
Just another decepetive twist of words, although not an outright lie. It’s doubtful anybody will have their plan forcibly terminated and made to join the pubilic option at the point of a gun. However, it will be made increasingly difficult for individuals to buy insurance and the mandate that fines them if they don’t will force them onto the public option. Furthermore, more govt. regulations that requires insurance companies to cover every conceivable condition not to mention pre-existing conditions at huge losses will send their premium through the roof, for which they will then be further demonized by the Dems.
Yes, you will be allowed to keep your plan, but only if you or your employer is willing to pay 2 or 3 times what they are paying now. So I’d say this isn’t an outright lie like his promise to not raise taxes on anybody making less than $200,000, which he has already broken and will continue to do so.
The elitist, smirking, socialist, opposite worldview-holding, statist, collectivist, arrogant know-it-alls have been using that term “Out of context” for a at least a couple of decades, as far as I can remember.
For some time, that term has been a “code phrase”, such that, the instant a speaker/talking head utters it, one can tell exactly what the speaker’s agenda/political “persuasion” is.
On the same idea as “educate”, “raise awareness”, “it’s a _______-ing tool”, and “break out into workshops”.
All the czars must be working overtime trying to mend this fence!
Drudge showed a video of Obama’s exact words–the proof is there.
Is this there defense…did Obama forget to calibrate that day; or was he drinking some of Biden’s gaffetastic special water and we heard wrong?
LGM??? Still waiting for you to point out where the lie was on the orginal video.
ohhh never mind…
If a video is shown of an individual, any individual, on any particular subject, why not show it in it’s entirety? Why only show the video cut and spliced? Do you agree, or disgree?
The author’s words were incomplete allowing the viewer to draw an incorrect conclusion. Nope. The lie is in not telling the complete story, and thus the editor is suspect and calls into question their honesty and motives.
From the Site:
My email to flag@whitehouse.gov
The uncut clip, or enough to make it clear that Obama favors a single-payer system, is posted on Drudge. I don’t see how what he says there could be taken out of context. If he favors a single payer system, as he makes quite clear in the video in no uncertain terms, he should just so and stop using weasel words that make it sound like he likes the free market but favors policies that will detroy it.
To Rip Ford # 40
Yeah, and the White House would probably be really perplexed if people flooded that White House e-mail address with quotes from Obama and/or his spokespeople that sound “fishy” along with links to Congress’ actual bill or other real data to help determine what the truth really is.
It is getting really hard to “misrepresent the truth” in the internet age!
Barack Obama 2003 - “I support a single payer healthcare plan.”
Bart Obama 2009 - “I didn’t do it, no one saw me do it, there’s no way you can prove anything!”
I dunno but Obama has a tendancy to drone on for hours.
That was NOT Southside Barry in the video but Tina Fey! God she’s good!
Our Maximum Leader the Naked Emperor and his palace guard (a.k.a., the Voluntary State Media) know that the duration of their hold on this country depends on their ability to keep the Rubes believing: believing that it really is a fashion-statement “waist pendant” they see swinging between his legs as he parades around and not something else.
As more and more of the Rubes start saying, “Hey, wait a minute…” the more thuggish the palace guard has to become to squelch the truth. That’s what you’re seeing here.
Prepare for a lot more of it.
EdDantes, you da man!
Flyoverman said (#52):
True, so far.
All House and Senate draft bills involve private insurance companies and private health care providers. Whatever Obama’s personal feelings might have been, single payer is not on the table.
That is patently false. The “public option” is very much “on the table”. You can’t lie to us, we’re not you’re students.
fify. The government will be one of the players, and sometimes one of the payers — one among many.
LGM: You seem to have forgotten to point out the lies you claimed were on the orginal video. An oversight I am sure.
That is a typical leftist misnomer. At the end of the day the “public option” (note quotations) will be the only option.
Only until the cheap cost of the Government insurance, combined with the tax on the Private insurance, drives all the other ‘players’ out of business.
Actually, first among unequals. It will set the rules for all the other players and will exempt itself as it sees fit. Not the type of game any sane person would like to play.
Again, let me point out that you have just said that single payer (public Option) is not on the table. Just ten minutes ago.
I bet he wishes he could make this disappear, just like he vanished his birth certificate, his college transcripts, his health records and all his state senate records. But now that it is on the internet, it is there forever! Too bad Mr. President. Apparently, not everything can be hidden! You are screwed.
Thats cute how you still believe that LGM. Such faith in the face of all the evidence is adorable.
LOL
Not really. The government under ObamaCare will also be setting all the rules under which private companies are permitted to issue coverage. Individuals will not be legally permitted to buy insurance that does not conform to government mandates.
Furthermore, the government “option” will be financed by taxpayers and deficit borrowing, which will enable it to undercut all private insurance… whose current profit margins are less than 4%.
Government isn’t a player. They’re fixing the game.
As Tom Cruise is to Scientology, so is lgm to Obamunism.
LOL
she gave us her job description.
Who in their right mind would expect the people who use this language in their legislation to be honest about their intentions?
Really, why is anybody even nitpicking about what Obama, said, means or wants? He’s just a tool of the progressive/liberals that control the Democrat party. Any poll, formal or informal, will quickly show than most liberal/progressive Democrats favor a single payer system.
Just one example, yes but clear and not out of context. A quick search would turn up more such statements by Democrats than could be listed. Obama will favor what he is told to favor, or rather whatever is the rage in the far left at the moment whether the issue is health care, spending, taxes, climate change etc…
Are you old enough to remember the cut-n-splice sound clip that the Dems have used for years?
“… wither on the vine.”
Newt and wither
Mr. Steele … your thoughts?
Yeah, like the only gladiator in the Colloseum that has a weapon.
Do you think we don’t know that the government makes the rules and exercises power essentially at gunpoint?
Idiot.
Dangerous, misguided – whether knowingly or unwittingly – idiot.
Rip Ford, your quote reminds me of this skit from Saturday Night Live.
Very funny!
Yes, I am definitely noticing the trolls out in full force on all the threads today. Obama’s internet military thugs trying to muddy the waters of truth. They really do sound desperate, don’t they? Shun them.
So…
We should ignore the various statements by Bwarny Frank-lover and his cadre that this is the precursor to the DESIGNED single-payer plan????
We should IGNORE what THE ONE has said he wants????
We should IGNORE what every honest analysis…regardless of what side of the aisle…has TOLD US THE RESULTS WILL BE???
Sorry, lgm. Be an idiot if you wish, but don’t invite us to join you in your idiocy.
gee, who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes! zz and lgm, you need to watch the video and tell us all where are the splices and cuts? the problem is he has said this numerous times, and they are all coming out.
On August 4th, 2009 at 12:16 pm, zyzzyg said:
There is no significant “splicing and dicing” involved with the video (see jsr’s response to you with the Drudge link). If you know differently, provide the proof. I’ll even accept a transcript of the AFL-CIO speech from a faux-neutral source like CNN or one of the Chicago rags, as long as it’s from 2003.
There is no reasonably conceivable context that could make the quote anything other than what is seen in the video. His stated position in the video is also corroborated by Obama-sympathetic sources before healthcare reform became the third-rail issue it is now.
This is exactly what will happen. Read the book Freedom-nomics by Dr. John Lott. It is the intelligent answer to that liberal tripe Freakonomics.
Dr. Lott explains that when a government gets into the game, they become the monopoly. The very thing the gov’t frowns upon in the private sector is what the gov’t does when they become a player in any business.
So, lgm, read the book and get a clue. I’ll bet you don’t even consider a gov’t monopoly a true monopoly.
The troll and Oba-mao argument is the equal of…
“I only want to put it in a little bit”.
We all know what the real intent is.
I like the way she talked about how concerned citizens are meeting at town halls to talk about the reform. People in need are attending.
Looks to me like a bunch of po’ed citizens yelling how not to touch the health care they have.
How’s that working out for you Linda Douglas.
If the screaming goes above 85 DB let me know linda I’ll get ya some ear plugs. Cause by the time you get in with what you want america to have for health care you’ll be deaf.
lgm, My Man!
Oh my, what is that on your shoe that you just stepped in?
http://www.breitbart.tv/obama-in-03-id-like-to-see-a-single-payer-health-care-plan/
If your ears are plugged here is the transcript. OOOOOOOPS!!!! Facts do have a way of slapping you upside the head.
“And that’s what Jim is talking about when he says everybody in, nobody out. A single payer health care plan, a universal health care plan. And that’s what I’d like to see. But as all of you know, we may not get there immediately. Because first we have to take back the White House, we have to take back the Senate, and we have to take back the House.”
That “everyone in, nobody out” formula is the definition for what we call Totalitarianism.
Mussolini used it, too.
I love the confession of incrementalism, the old “boil a live frog” strategy. It’s what they’ve been doing for over sixty years, but only now has it gotten to what they think is the tipping point.
Unfortunately, they may be right.
Am I correctly understanding you? Do you accept that as long as the “splicing and dicing” isn’t significant, it is OK?
Here is an extensive examination of the video tape. What was used and how it was used.
http://mediamatters.org/research/200908030046
I am all for a civil and reasonable discussion on any issue.

There are two ways to find out what’s in the health care reform proposals. One is to have Republican operatives comb through old video. The other is to look at the proposals.
I’ve done both.
I’ve also not ignored what Frank-lover and his congressional minions have said.
I am also capable of learning from history, and understand the power of Fabianism.
I know that the collective has been having a wet dream over the concept of universal health care since FDR.
I know cause and effect, and understand economics. I know what will happen to private institutions and private choices if the proposals now in play are passed.
There are many ways to know what we know, and we have used them, and know it.
Like I said earlier; be-clown yourself. Do NOT ask me to join your idiocy. I will FORCEFULLY RESIST.
I am waiting for when the White House decides to increase their “Chicago Way” antics by starting to knock off their opponents the old gangster way with lead. When that starts, the war starts.
“I know many of you here today are single payer advocates and so am I … and those of us who are pushing for a public health insurance don’t disagree with this goal. This is not a principled fight. This is a fight about strategy for getting there and I believe we will,” Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) told a group of government-run health care supporters on April 18.
The exact same they said about the student loan market. Over the course of 10 short years they intentionally legislated the private lenders out of business.
Legislated. Not undercut them, legislated.

so she cherrypicks and assembles soundbites favroable to her viewpoint to prove that cherrypicking soundbites is bad?
I beleive Barack expressed his true feelings on the campaign trail and in front of the SEIU.
His current language about the public option is an attempt to hide his extreme liberal views.
At the very least, the video has proven that he is nothing but a say anything talk out both sides of your face politician. There is no change there.
As long as any Gov plan is on, it will end up single payer.
Unfortunately for Little Gay Marxist, someone did look through the proposal:
This is EXACTLY how the media operates. If you have ever watched C-SPAN, or been to an event live, then watched the news, you know the networks all cut and paste their sound bites to fit their agenda.
Translation: “History began when I woke up this morning!”
These Political Class idiots can’t deal with an active, informed grass-roots opposition.
No debate from Obama… let his sockpuppets snarl… smears and innuendo…
… typical mad dog leftist response when cornered …

That certainly convinced me.
Presidential Candidate Obama appending his professed desire to eliminate private insurance with the Republican idea of personal healthcare accounts? Disingenuous triangulation while leaving the door open to do exactly what he said he wanted back in 2003. Imagine that.
This is hilarious! I posted BO on video in which he said exactly THAT! These folks really believe we are stupid!
