MoveOn sounds the nutroots mob alarm

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 7, 2009 01:24 PM

MoveOn tells its minions that “this is getting ugly.”

MoveOn knows ugly. And now they’re exploiting the current Obamacare crisis to raise $250,000 and recruit new thugs.

Here’s the missive the far Left outfit sent out today. My favorite line: “We’ve hired skilled grassroots organizers…”

Authenticity!

Subject: This is getting ugly

Dear MoveOn member,

It’s getting ugly out there.

All across the country, right-wing extremists are disrupting congressional town-hall meetings with venomous attacks on President Obama’s plans for health care and clean energy.

* Last night in Tampa, Florida, a town hall meeting erupted into violence, with the police being called to break up fist fights and shoving matches.1
* A Texas Democrat was shouted down by right-wing hecklers, many of whom admitted they didn’t even live in his district.2
* One North Carolina representative announced he wouldn’t be holding any town-hall meetings after his office began receiving death threats.3
* And in Maryland, protesters hung a Democratic congressman in effigy to oppose health-care reform.4

We’ve got a plan to fight back against these radical right-wingers. We’ve hired skilled grassroots organizers who are working with thousands of local volunteers to show Congress that ordinary Americans continue to support President Obama’s agenda for change. And we’re building new online tools to track events across the country and make sure MoveOn members turn out at each one.

But we need to scale up our efforts quickly to make sure this plan works. To really swing into action during this month’s congressional recess, we need to raise at least $250,000 immediately. Can you chip in $15 to support our work?

https://pol.moveon.org/donate/august.html?id=16748-7648820-qGXL5Fx&t=1

If the shouts of the right-wing mobs are the only voices our senators and representatives hear over the recess, we’ll have a hard time passing health care and clean energy legislation.

That’s why we’re launching our Heat Up Congress campaign so quickly to fight back, using new technology to implement rapid response town hall turnout, organizing personal phone calls from small business leaders and donors to their representatives, running new ads, and activating an energized network of on-the-ground organizers and volunteers.

This month could decide the future of health care and clean energy in America—and we’re already one week in. If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines, now’s the time to get involved. Talk to your neighbors, go to a town hall meeting—and today, please chip in $15 to support our work:

https://pol.moveon.org/donate/august.html?id=16748-7648820-qGXL5Fx&t=2

Thanks for all you do.

This MoveOn crap has to make it onto Fox News and whatever other mouthpieces we have, because it’s almost beyond belief.

Do they even know that they are openly admitting to doing what they wrongly accuse the conservatives of? Or are they too stupid to even know that?

That’s a long version of “I won”, but it doesn’t really mean anything. Do liberals only believe in having a minority voice when they are the minority? Look, that’s why we live in a republic and not a true democracy.

This is a war between “Good” and “Bad”.

Good people exercise their constitutional rights to let their representatives know that they are against BAD policies.

The BAD representatives argue for the BAD policy, so naturally, the GOOD demand their voices be heard.

So to fix this problem, the BAD hire more BAD people to silence the GOOD people.

The BAD congress people label the GOOD as BAD to justify their own actions.

You can take the content of these policies, along with the prior behavior and past declarations of those who are for them and immediately draw the conclusion that these are BAD policies for the average American. You can also see that these policies are GOOD for the BAD people (i.e SEIU:THUGS, Illegals:Criminals, Long term unemployed:parasites, Democratic Party:Communists).

I thought Americans gave their life for freedom from “BAD”? Now the bad are determined to eliminate the GOOD at any cost; even at the cost of the destruction of the USA.

“No, the most powerful influence was exerted neither by individual speeches nor by articles or flyers, posters or flags; it was not achieved by things which one had to absorb by conscious thought or conscious emotions.

Instead Nazism permeated the flesh and blood of the people through single words, idioms and sentence structures which were imposed on them in a million repetitions and taken on board mechanically and unconsciously. . . language does not simply write and think for me, it also increasingly dictates my feelings and governs my entire spiritual being the more unquestioningly and unconsciously I abandon myself to it.

And what happens if the cultivated language is made up of poisonous elements or has been made the bearer of poisons? Words can be like tiny doses of arsenic: they are swallowed unnoticed, appear to have no effect, and then after a little time the toxic reaction sets in after all.”

Now, thanks in part to MM, the iamthemob people (thugs?) are threatening to bring guns to one of these townhalls. The MM Limbaugh Beck hysteria is going to get people killed.

    Now answer two questions:

1: Does one of the health care bills call for murder of senior citizens as Republican office holders are claiming?

2: Is Medicare a government program, as many Republican office holders are denying?

Oh, so tpm is where you keep your brain. I always wondered where you got your ideas.

The only “agenda” Obama propounded during the campaign was “Hope and Change” (a.k.a. “Dope and Hang”).

MM isn’t answerable for how others use her post titles. As far as your two questions, I’ve got one for you:

    1) Why in the hell do you continue to bang the anti-Republican drum here after you’ve been repeatedly told by many posters that this is not a Republican blog?

Go yap at the Republicans for a while, kid. You bother me.

I get it. You don’t want universal heathcare. You are opposed to all forms of government run healthcare (except for Medicare, I presume). But, please, the Nazi analogies, the laughable (if they weren’t so ridiculously insulting, offensive and stupid) assertions that “we are not the Jews in 1939,” have to stop. Maybe being taken seriously isn’t your top priority, but it seems amusingly, if not surprisingly hypocritical to see this behavior from the crowd that never stops ranting about how anything the left says is invalid because people on their side say ignorant and offensive things or hold up offensive and hateful signs (which they do, obviously, because unless you’ve missed it, most people don’t know how to express themselves calmly and cogently).

    neocon527,
No one can prevent Republicans from organizing and attending these events. I’ll tell you this: if I attend one these farcical government health care takeover sessions, I’m going on my own or with a group of like minded friends. No one from the RNC or health care industry has contacted me or anyone I know. If I see Republicans there trying to horn in on the grassroots, I’m going to tell those opportunists to get lost. We don’t want or need their “help”. If the Congressman holding the session doesn’t answer the tough questions, if he doesn’t listen to his constituents, if he is condescending, then all bets are off as far as “shouting down”.

It’s not the same, because you say so! Hurray! I mean, seriously, if you were so outraged by the signs at demonstrations showing Bush with a Hitler mustache, why would you endorse the same behavior, in this case, putting the Hitler stache on President Obama? Do you not see that that makes no sense? Do you see that the way you probably viewed those protesters is how a lot of people now look at the protesters you’re defending or, even worse, endorsing to the point where you believe their claims are not just inflammatory for the sake of shocking people, but acutally based in some kind of fact?

You can disagree with policy and not resort to the cheapest, childish move in the book. Your disagreement with healthcare policy does not equate you with “the Jews of 1939.” You insinuating that it does, is an insult to those still living and the memories of those not lucky enough to have escaped or survived. You could, y’know, offer alternatives to policies you disagree with. Or you could learn how to make an analogy that in any way applies to your present circumstance. But, why do that, right? You said Nazi! You win!

As for the protests and hitler references, I will be damn before I let some liberal hypocrite tell me what is and is not acceptable because YOU SET THE STANDARD.

So Don’t like me, I don’t care. I will continue to call them as I see them. So why don’t you or one of your jackbooted thugs comes along to try to stop me?

My comment about Obama was in response to someone claiming Obama was not elected to reform health care.

    lgm, that’s a blatant lie.

The only claim was that Obama was elected as a moderate – not to push a trojan horse which will lead to socialized medicine.

And that claim was in response to this comment from YOU:

Americans voted in Obams and lots of Democratic Congressmen and Senators. Obama’s platform was health care, reducing carbon emissions, etc. If a minority is able to prevent these things Americans voted for from happening, that’s not Democracy.

Let’s read that last sentence again.

If a minority is able to prevent these things Americans voted for from happening, that’s not Democracy.

What the HECK does that mean?

Who is the “minority?” The Republicans in Congress? How can the Republicans in Congress prevent anything? If not the Republicans, then who? Who is this minority you speak of? Who is preventing Democracy?
