“Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.”
Hooligans. Mobsters. Political terrorists. Brownshirts.
Now, Democrats are calling vocal opponents of Obamacare unpatriotic: “Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.”
Hey, Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer, tell it to the dissent-stiflers at the SEIU.
I invoke Hillary Clinton from 2003:
HRC: “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.”

B cat beat me to it.
Jim m, caryy all you want too.
Everyone else: If jim m’s choice in firearms is the same as his choice in politics, he’ll probably be carrying a pink, inoperative Daisy 882. We shouldn’t worry.
Your link is to a lefty blog, and the link there to the alleged threat does not exist.
The event described was in Missouri, where the SEIU thugs assaulted anti Obamacare protesters. All arrests were SEIU and pro healthcare people.
Again, please inform us of ANY credible instance of violence by healthcare dissenters. Just one.
In 2006, Nancy Pelosi thought protests were respectable and patriotic.
Here is the issue in a nut shell jim m :
“Yet, what matters more than their past statements or current rhetoric is the likely effect of their legislation. According to independent sources, the health-care bills under consideration will dramatically increase the deficit, take away patient choice, and set the stage for a total government takeover of health care — the single-payer model many Democrats have long dreamed of. As the head of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, Douglas Elmendorf, recently said, the bills moving through Congress did not contain “the sort of fundamental changes that would be necessary to reduce the trajectory of federal health spending by a significant amount. And on the contrary, the legislation significantly expands the federal responsibility for health-care costs.” Meanwhile, the independent Lewin Group estimates that 114 million Americans will be forced to give up their current health-care plans as the government-run plan puts everyone else out of business.”
Socky, thanks for the link. I could see that one coming.
With all of the projection that the left does, (they accuse the right of the very things of which they themselves are guilty), I’m seriously concerned about the integrity of our elections.
The left accused Bush of “stealing” the 2000 and 2004 elections. I believe the exact opposite is true…the left has been trying to steal elections, and finally succeeded in 2006 and 2008.
What are we doing RIGHT NOW to ensure that the 2010 elections will be honest elections?
What are we doing to stop ACORN?
What are we doing to ensure that stolen “smart cards” aren’t hacked and used to stuff the “electronic ballot box”?
We all know that the President, Senators, and Representatives aren’t listening to us now. Many of us look forward to removing many of them from office in January 2011. But that won’t happen if they are allowed to steal the 2010 elections.
We can’t wait util a few months before the elections to ensure that they are honest. We must start now.
ITookTheRedPill – Agreed. If you want to know what the left is up to, look at what they are accusing us of. Stealing elections, stiffling dissent, astroturfing…yada, yada.
I think you’ve touched on the issue that could spark something really big happening in this country. Once it settles in that Liberty loving Conservatives have had their country hijacked by Socialists – and with no legal way of getting it back due to voter fraud – all bets are off. We could be then looking at a serious secessionist movement or worse – civil war. Let’s pray – and work – that we would not let it get to that point.
The link was to a right-wing blogger who is advocating violence. Please read it again.
I love Rush but I cringe every time he says, “The word ‘Nazi’ is derived from the German word for National Socialism.”
This is such an inept sentence that it makes Rush sound like he is reading off a cue sheet and has no idea of what he is talking about. Not that he doesn’t have the general idea; but he clearly does not know enough about it to be talking about it on the radio.
“The chances of a bomb being on an airplane are 1 million to one. The chances of 2 bombs being on an airplane are 1 million times 1 million to one.
So, the next time you travel public airways, decrease the chances of a bomb being on your plane. Take your own bomb.” — Benny Hill
jim m, if you really are frightened, carry. You’ll probably be the only one there who will. B-cat already told you to quit whining and carry.
Sounds to me like you’re actually using this blogger you pointed out to create a rucus, i.e. you’re not really scared but are actually trying to make it sound as though all on the right are packing heat and spoiling for a fight.
Ignatius R, if the word “Nazi” doesn’t come from “National Socialism,” where does it come from?
Not being snarky, just that every History Channel special on the matter says it does. If they are in fact wrong, I’d like to know for myself so that I don’t make that mistake.
We saw it when lgm posted the same link on a previous thread.
What we are challenging is that that one tweet is enough for the liberal blogs, like the one you linked, to harp about aggressive right-wingers while at the same time turning a blind eye to what happened to Kenneth Gladney at the hands of SEIU thugs.
American Heritage Dictionary says:
Na·zi (näts, nt-) KEY
NOUN:
pl. Na·zis
A member of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party, founded in Germany in 1919 and brought to power in 1933 under Adolf Hitler.
often nazi An adherent or advocate of policies characteristic of Nazism; a fascist.
ADJECTIVE:
Of, relating to, controlled by, or typical of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party
SHoward, mea culpa. Rush is right, and I am wrong.
I know a bit about the rise of Nazism but did not believe that there was a single German word for national socialism, which there is. Obviously, I don’t know as much about the linguistic history of all of this as I thought.
Rush rules.
I’d say Democrats like this are Demon Possessed, but that might be to mislead folks on the intellectual capacity & potency of Demons..
There more like wannabe demons.. You know, sort of like wannabe gang bangers & bad asses..
“….at the same time turning a blind eye to what happened to Kenneth Gladney at the hands of SEIU thugs.”
So why were two SEIU thugs on the ground/falling to the ground at the start of the video? I’m not seeing a lot of “proof” that Gladney (or others) didn’t start the pushing and shoving.
Nor have we seen any proof that the “Scott Oskay” isn’t a plant.
Google “Scott Oskay”. If he’s a plant, most of the public stuff strongly suggests he’s a Republican one.
I did. Most hits are liberal blogs referring to his comments. His twitter page has since been removed.
The individuals going to protest at town halls have no idea who Scott Oskay is, nor care. To suggest that his foolish tweet(s) (whether he truly is a “libertarian” or not) influences all those protesters is preposterous. There has been nothing to substantiate the claim. If it weren’t for TPM bemoaning his twitter, it’s likely he would have gone completely unnoticed (by both sides).
If you wish to be “afraid” of those scary protesters because of this one guy’s twitter page, be my guest, but let’s not pretend that he’s the leader of some movement.
http://rootswire.org/category/person/scott-oskay.
I know he’s not a leader of a movement. He seems to be more libertarian than republican.
But it only takes one pi**ed off person with a gun to make a very bad situation uncontrollable.
Then feel free to go to a libertarian blog and warn all of those people there about this dangerous scott-oskay person.
Okay jim?
Just as it typically takes one rational person with a gun to stop him. What’s your point?
No one here that I have read has endorsed a violent response. That conservative posters here did not respond to your ‘give me assurances’ post is more likely a sign that they did not take you seriously and not evidence that your safety is threatened.
I don’t know the conceal/carry laws in Dallas. If it’s legal, then by all means do what you think you must to ensure your safety.
Ignatius R: Dittos!
I didn’t think I was crazy, but since I can’t claim any kind of special knowledge on the subject, I would have been interested to learn either way if the word Nazi had a different origin.
I see jim m is back stoking the fire with a popsickle stick. He’s doing the same thing Begala did once on O’reilly. Bill O had made a humorous off handed comment about some lefty being in bed with Fidel Castro, and Begala was making a serious attempt to get some kind of libel action going against O’reilly. It would have been thrown out in 2 seconds if anyone actually brought a suit, but Begala was trying to make everyone believe that it was the norm for O’reilly to make false accusations about the left’s associations.
jim m is doing the same thing here. He is taking a bit piece from a nobody and trying to make it look like our entire side is on the fringe.
jim m is just mad becaus ehe still caon’t figure out how to pump up his pink Daisy bb rifle.
Republican doesn’t equal conservative.
Jim M, you’re like my child who keeps asking “why”. I give her an answer and she says “why”. I think she caught on early that her repeated asking of a stupid question was entertaining…to herself.
Just go to the meeting or not. Take a gun or not. Don’t project your insanity to people who have an honest debate about what Obama is doing. You have stated that you are for “parts of Obamacare”. You have a right to your opinion and if you’re too scared to go to a meeting, get on the phone. I assume you’re not afraid of your phone? Why are you here? It’s obviously to entertain yourself.
You are in grave danger! By all means arm yourself!
Try Klonopin
hey all you dems, libturds out there…how do you like those back at ya’s now?
Notice how much smaller and pathetic lgm’s posts are getting?
Silver lining!!!
Swede, et al:
We are in a fight for our very lives, and the lives of our loved ones. There can be only one rule: Win, at any cost. It does us no good to lose the fight but pat ourselves on the back and say “at least we didn’t stoop to their level” because the simple fact of the matter is, we still lose, and losing this fight is simply not an option. If I’m gonna lose, I’m gonna do every dang thing I can and pull out ALL the stops. I’m going down fighting. If someone gets in my face and tries to hurt me or my family, he had better be wearing body armor because he’s gonna get himself gutshot for his trouble.
When the truth is allowed to be voiced it is usually a disaster for the liberals.
Remember Rick Santelli, Joe the Plumber, MEP Daniel Hannan, and Leah from NH!
Solution -prevent that at all costs, stack the deck than accuse the other side of cheating, lock the doors after the right people(union pawns) are seated at your table, than complain of the noise outside!
What is a real town hall supposed to be?
One man- one vote, each in turn taking a turn to speak, and everyone respectfully listening. Great ideas emerged in those settings and forums in the past. That is the tradition from our earliest settler days, but the left co-oped the town hall to push their liberal agendas as they have the PTA and every other civic group they can!
Reality- is the “perception of reality” in the political world, and we “Tea Baggers” just are not following the script!
Obama has already failed in his quest to leave the impression that people really wanted this reform.
None of his bussed-in, staged demonstrations were left unchallenged, and likewise for these staged town halls!
Any Bluedog voting for this reform must realize the cat is out of the bag, people do not want it. Should they vote for it anyways, as many foolishly plan to do, their political careers are history.
Unfortunately, our country may be too.
Obama has overreached, and is taking the country down with him.
