White House: You’re not un-American, but you are still corporate shills so just pipe down
President Obama wants you to stop talking and Robert Gibbs thinks you are all corporate-funded lackeys. But hey, they don’t question your patriotism. And now they welcome “a real vigorous conversation.”
Just keep it at an acceptable decibel level.
“I think there’s actually a pretty long tradition of people shouting at politicians in America,” White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton told reporters on Air Force One when asked about the comments.
“The President thinks that if people want to come and have a spirited debate about health care, a real vigorous conversation about it, that’s a part of the American tradition and he encourages that, because people do have questions and concerns …And so if people want to come and have their concerns and their questions answered, the President thinks that’s important. Now, if you just want to come to a town hall so that you can disrupt and so that you can scream over another person, he doesn’t think that that’s productive. And as a country, we’ve been able to make progress when people actually talk out what our problems are, not try to shout each other down.”
JWF wants a vigorous debate about the Associated Press spin on Obama’s upcoming Kabuki town hall meeting in Portsmouth NH.
The forum is ticket-only.
John Moran, 71, of Nottingham was among the many who went to the school to pick up tickets for an event marking Obama’s first trip to the Granite State since he took office in January.
Moran, a Democrat, said he is a strong Obama supporter who was thrilled when he got a call notifying him that he would have two tickets for today’s Town Hall forum.
The Nottingham resident said his wife — who will also be attending — was even more excited with the chance to see Obama live.
“She is really tickled. You should have seen her … she was jumping up and down,” Moran said.
Moran said he has a couple questions in mind if he is called on at the forum with one of them being how the president intends to get health insurance companies to work with him to reform health care.
No worries about being drowned out.

This is very settled law. An estate is required to pay the costs of “final illness” first…highest priority…before any money is distributed to heirs or even paid to other claims against the estate.
In other words, the feds would get first call on your estate.
Don’t the states already get first call on your estate if you use Medicaid? And don’t the states verify your eligibility for Medicaid (and require the signing over of almost all assets) before you can go into a nursing home?
Under Medicaid it is called “recoupment”
Free health care ain’t free…..
Having it in the IRS does not automatically grant disclosure to another agency.
I believe the correct US Code is here if you like reading legalese. (Not my favorite thing…) If I understand it correctly, the code would need to be amended to include the health care bureaucracy.
I’m uncertain what they might mean by “personal” records distinct from financial ones. That’s curious.
On the Huff Post there are some people commenting from a lunatic op-ed or whatever they call it on that site
on having gang members to show up at these town hall meetings:

Really this is pretty crazy and scary and I’ll tell you I’m not backing down and mostly it is because of the dismissal and calling citizens un-american that has got me going, even my father called me when he saw Gibbs say these were “manufactured” protests. And he is 67 and ready to go PROTEST! I for one am voting out every single person in Federal positions in my district that has been in office over 4 years, under 4 years I will be checking their voting records and NOTHING more, no tv ads nothing will I watch and that is how I will vote. They are such @%&H*(@%!

Fast question my friend – if a family has a trust or living trust can the Feds still come after a person?
Out of the mouths of boobs…
We can only hope they do it. Townhalls full of obvious thugs intimidating regular taxpaying citizens and pushing for ‘health care reform’ might be exactly what is needed to make the idiot voter wake up and realize what she has been doing to the country.
That would depend on the person’s interest in the trust. Maybe yes, and that assumes there are no new Federal laws that permit reaching into the trust.
If the person making the trust retained no interest in the trust corpus (a non-revocable trust, with no life interest to the benefactor), the answer would normally be that the trust only can be used to benefit the beneficiaries.
Michael Moore is okay with deception from the White House when that deception brings the country further to the left. He says this explicitly and yet I’m sure there are still folks out there that still believe that his “work” is unbiased.
However, he’s at least being honest about his desire for a single-payer system. I’ll give him that much.
This would be a Darwinian moment for SouljahBoy. They would find his decomposing corpse in the trunk if his stripped and burning car a few days after he went to “recruit”.
Him and Bwarny Frank-lover. Now, there’s a pair…
damn, I just threw up in my mouth.
That’s because he looks at it the same way he looks at a buffet—-all you can eat for one price!
Once power is your ultimate goal, you will align yourself with anything, anyone, any issue to attain it.
I am never surprised at the various leftist splinter groups who come together to push back against liberty
She should be careful, Obamacare won’t cover fixing her broken hip.
Worth reading.
Things that make you hmmm:
1969 Charle Manson tried to unleash Helter Skelter!
2009 Barack Obama finally unleashes Helter Skelter!
Holy Inbred!
You people got event dumber since the last time I posted – how did you do that?
I have a copy of John Holdren’s book “Ecoscience”
An overridding theme of this book and other leftist books is and has always been “Population Control”
And in his book he endorses the “transition to a size-controlled (eventually declining) population”
Several other authors have lamented how to get to this “size-controlled” populations but no others have ever had an office in the white house.
With such proximity to power and with a lifetime of study behind them, how do you think they see the health takeover debate?
What lie would they say to attain this power?
Maybe it’s just you getting dumber.

Please. Stay with the “smart people”.
We will try to get along…
Rags and stillonthe road, the states have “anti-dumping” laws (if you’re talking about Medicaid). If you made a gift within the last five years and then become eligible for assistance because you have no assets, Medicaid can deny you coverage for an extended period.
Not sure what you’re exactly talking about, but the issue may not be as simple as what’s in a trust or living trust.
Sure. Bankruptcy courts can “reach back” years to reverse a disposal of assets they find suspicious.

He never brings anything to the table.
I don’t know this, but…
Ilovemycuber is a she, I understand, and a physician in training.
All of which simply means she is a voluntary idiot. It doesn’t come naturally, which would provide some excuse.
FIFY, Bill Burton
I must have missed that day, but I’m skeptical of the physician-in-training bit.
Now remember it is not the dems who are organizing….
At David Wu’s townhall meeting today they had people standing in line and this woman made them count and she was number 72. When Wu arrived he brought more than 60 people, all dems organized ahead of time, and let them in first only letting 60 people who waited outside in line last.
Now it’s the conservatives who are the shysters.
The problem is clear; the democrats work for their party not the people. They are supposed to represent the people but they represent their party. They do not support the constitution and they should all be fired…..
These are not scare tactics. First read the bill and if you understand it you will see that there will be a government board deciding who will and who will not receive critical, expensive care. If the government “gods” refuse life saving care based on the individual’s “cost-effectiveness” status it can and will result in premature deaths. This board will in fact decide who lives and who dies . . . read the bill. Your probability of receiving medical intervention will be determined by your age, health status and the cost of the needed care. Those with the lowest probabilities of intervention lie on the extreme ends of the curve. (very young and very old people). You may not like the words “death boards” but nevertheless that is exactly what they are. Furthermore, H.R. 3200 in its entirety is the most frightening socialist manifesto written in the last 60 years. What Obama says is irrelevant. The only words that matter are those written into the legislation that will eventually become the law. Remain in denial if you must but that will not change the facts as they now exist.
Thats why I use littlegirlieman and nambla references since the little kapo likes to molest little minds with liberal drivel.
Thats why alot of us have CCW permits, and the vermin know that their life expectancy gets alot shorter when they attempt to attack one of us.
GSP
Socialist megalomania blind them from understanding the anger of honest people who do not wish to have their health care rights trammeled by government.
Thanks for posting that excerpt Rags; it was enough to get me to find the complete article, and in reading it, another line caught my attention:
I wonder – could it be that he’s too in love with the sound of his own voice to actually stop and listen to what we the people are saying?
I think you’ve got it…!!!
Plus, ShellieO has a lot to say…
The conspiracy between the dems and the media to deliberately demonize Americans exercising free speech; voicing legitimate opposition to a proposed government program is Orwellian, dangerous and frightening. We have reached a tipping point of some sort here; and I fear for what is going to happen if this corruption continues.
Yes, she does.
What is interesting is how the town hall meetings have evolved over the past two weeks.
In the beginning protestors were for the most part making statements, with some questions llike “Would you commit to put you and your family on this plan?”
Over the past two weeks the politicians have done nothing, nor has Obama. Attendees on the other hand have kept digging. They have read or seen parts of the bill. They are now reading FROM THE BILL and asking the politicians to respond. The politicians cannot, because they have either not read the bill or more likely know its contents but deny its provisions.
The net result is the public appears more informed than those empowered to vote on it. The politicians look more and more foolish. You would be angry with them for lying to you, but they are so pathetic you have to just laugh at them.
Physician in training? Maybe at a doll hospital.
No one who is as puerile as ILMC could pass high school biology, let alone be admitted to medical school. In the 762 comments ILMC has made on this blog since last September, none of them have risen above the thought process of a typical 12 year old.
Shows that the left knows the criminal class is a constituent group. Who’s surprised?
