Year before last I sent a package containing $300 worth of clothing to the Philippines. I insured the package with the U.S. Postal Service, and kept all of my receipts for the merchandise. The package never arrived. After submitting ALL of the proper paperwork (insurance claim) with all of the receipts, and arguing with Post Office officials both on the telephone and in person on numerous occasions, those fascist reprobates NEVER DID honor the insurance. All they did was refund my postage. Needless to say, I keep my dealings with them to an absolute minimum these days, and I use FedEx and UPS whenever I have the option to do so.

19th century socialists wanted all of society run like the Post Office — they thought is was a reasonable, attainable, and most of all moral goal. Obama was possibly thinking of them when he gave his answer. I suspect, but do not know, that he is fairly conversant with the thinking of the founding monsters of socialism. He does not appear to be that conversant with what their ideas resulted in. Then again, perhaps he is.

In any event, he could have clarified himself thusly: “Look, the Post Office is not run efficiently in terms of economics, but who cares about economic efficiency? Everyone is treated the same at the post office. Nobody cares what your race or status is — you all get the same service. It is true social equality, which is what we all want. Right? So when you think about it, the Post Office is what we should strive for in medical care as well. What could possible be more fair?”

In the real old days, not that I would have any first hand experience, there used to be twice a day mail deliveries. The trend in cutting back services in socialized enterprises is certain to continue.

The ONLY mail that I receive that is not junk is Birthday cards from my grandmothers. Every bill is paid through automatic deposit and I do not write hand written letters anymore. I would say can the post office, but then I am sure I would be called racist because not all inner city people have access to the internet for these purposes. Only 60″ TVs.

Obama is too stupid to know when he’s telling the truth, when he’s actually trying to pull the wool over our eyes. I swear, the man is a colossal moron. The mere notion that such a glittering jewel of immense ignorance is the most powerful man in the world is terrifying.

The Post Office is still important to many people. In Flushing, New York, there is a large post office that is scheduled to be closed. This has caused all sorts of anxiety to the Flushing community, which is primarily Asian and depends upon the USPS for sending documents and goods back East.

I ship to Europe and Asia, and USPS is much cheaper than Fedex or UPS.

If the gov hadn’t passed a law which forbids competition for 1st class mail, the post office would have been gone long ago. Nothing like a bunch of “can’t be fired gov employees” mucking up a business. Private companies can’t afford to hire people who work in slow motion.

    No!

It means they will go “medical” every now and then due to the fact they either aren’t working anymore or are not being paid like they used to be.

this crap has been tried by states as different as massachussetts, tennessee, and oregon. all have gone wildly overbudget which then leads to rationing via “take two aspirins and call me 7 months from now” and in oregon’s case that state beaurocrat just says “no we won’t pay for your chemo, but we will pay for your blue pills.” (see story on homepage of fox nation. com). no nation on earth is rich enough to pay for healthcare for all, as the definition of healthcare is as elusive as the definition of rich. i may define healthcare as immunization shots when young and checkups when middle aged and hospitalization when old and sick, while another may define healthcare as an oncall hospital full of specialists who checkout every whim of a hypochondriac and multiple person schizophrenic.

It is an activist group for human rights…around the world… I’m guessing the US doesn’t count in the opinion of the ‘progressives’ but the ideology for the rights of individual human beings applies to all. And I quote from their website page on The rights of the Aging:

“demographic trends create unique challenges for all people, particularly for the governments of nation-states around the globe. Elderly individuals are often subject to discrimination and There is also a prevalent belief among many that elderly persons are worthless in today’s fast-paced, globalized and increasingly industrialized world. abuse because they are perceived as easily taken advantage of. Obviously, with the number of elderly people on earth at any one time rising rapidly, there is an increased urgency to address the rights and roles of elderly persons in our world.

I just told a USPS employee their service was why government health care was a VERY BAD idea: I am active duty military moving to AZ. I went into the USPS to get a PO Box in AZ to forward my mail and was told I could do it all online. Found out I could pay for a PO Box in AZ no problem but they will not give me the actual number of the box until I arrive and provide ID. (You do not find this out until the transaction is complete). So I paid for a box I could not use WHEN I need to use it most. That sounds like what they have in mind for health care alright.
