Billie Jean King: Obama’s distortions are “cute”

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 13, 2009 10:21 AM

Rowdy town hall protesters, take note: Please do not correct the president’s faulty math. It’s rude. And un-American.

Instead, follow the cue of tennis player Billie Jean King and embrace Obama math as “adorable.”

This is the polite and patriotic thing to do.

Via Politico:

Before presenting tennis legend Billie Jean King with the Medal of Freedom Wednesday, President Obama ticked off some of her accomplishments: 12 Grand Slam titles, 101 doubles titles, 67 singles titles.

“Pretty good, Billie Jean,” he quipped.

But he didn’t get any of it right, according to King herself.

“They didn’t get any of my facts right,” King lightheartedly noted afterward. “Did you see all the – how many titles I won? I was cracking up.”

“Not even in the ballpark,” she continued.

King found it amusing, and said her accomplishments on the court aren’t the most important.

“I thought it was adorable,” she said.

Watch the video at the link as she shrugs at the inaccuracies: “Who cares?”

Because of her work promoting women’s sports — title 9, women’s leagues, etc. And, I hope, cleaning the clock of Bobby Riggs.

As a huge tennis fan myself, I really don’t get the importance of this award. It’s meaningless. Anybody can now receive it for whatever accomplishment under the sun. Even foreign citizens.

Title 9 has so skewed the balance of women’s sports that both men’s and women’s sports aren’t equally funded. In essence, title 9 has had unforeseen consequences as a result of feminist meddling in sports.

Billy Jean King may have done a lot for women’s tennis such as equating prize money but the male tennis players have a point. Why not have the women play 5 set matches like the men? The men often play longer than the women. This is an example of feminist meddling where there shouldn’t have been. It’s about time on the court, not who makes more.

Billy Jean King really just needs to get over herself.

if you feel she doesn’t deserve this honor, then there’s at least a dozen more people that received the medal during Bush’s eight years that also did not.

So what does this mean? If we feel she does deserve it then all of a sudden those dozen all of a sudden do as well? My God, but these analogies are so amazingly asinine I hardly know where to begin.

There just is no reasoning with Obama-zombies. He could rape a moose in the middle of one of his twelve dozen prime time “press conferences” that are nothing more than “Hail Obama” rallies and they would say how wonderful it was for him to do it, how it benefitted the moose, and how it saved the country, cured the economy, healed everyone with cancer, brought hope to the masses and changed Washington forever.

And, don’t forget, how racist YOU ARE for pointing out the madness. And then would follow an unsubstantiated allegation that Halliburton workers were nailing camels in Iraq so conservatives have no room to speak.

O/T but related, why is Billie Jean getting a Medal of Freedom? For her tennis prowess?

As far as “class” is concerned. The error was in her favor, so it is easy to let the ego silence what would have been an insult if he had distorted the stats in the other direction. Sorry, this does not represent “class” on her part. However, her response does show her disillusionment.

    Uhhh….no.

She won 129 singles titles (as opposed to 67).

She won a total of 39 grand slams (as opposed to 12).

The 101 total doubles titles appears correct.

I think she is getting the medal of freedom for being free to nail fresh innocent females and “turn” them to the lesbian way of life. I had the unfortunate opportunity to witness this disgusting crime against nature during one of my previous jobs involving women workers at a an extremely remote job site. Thank you Mr. president for honoring the lesbian life style. I guess that next week you will present a medal to Barney Frank for his excellent work at destroying the housing financial industry and being a proficient homosexual congressman.

Can you imagine if President Bush had made this thoughtless mistake?

Would Ms. King have thought it cute or an insult to herself an all to women athletes? To all women? To homosexuals and minorities?

“No one but an idiot Nazi would make such a mistake! How insulting! How thoughtless! Worst person in the world! What a buffoon! What a fool! Can’t string two words together without looking like a moron. He did it on purpose! It was racist ‘code’ meant to dishonor all women athletes! Etc…”

I wonder if the silliness of the “honor” bestowed upon Ms King made her feel patronized, or did she actually feel like she deserved it?

Yeah…RIGHT! King winning an exhibition match between herself (who wasn’t even BORN when her opponent was at his BEST in 1939-41–King was born in 1943) and Bobby Riggs is deserving of having the highest civilian honor to be bestowed by the United States.

This is proof positive that there isn’t a properly-functioning cell in lgm’s brain. I’d say I’ve seen it all, but so long as lgm continues coming here and spewing hid idiocy, I’ll be sure to see more unimaginable nonsense.
