Billie Jean King: Obama’s distortions are “cute”

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 13, 2009 10:21 AM

Rowdy town hall protesters, take note: Please do not correct the president’s faulty math. It’s rude. And un-American.

Instead, follow the cue of tennis player Billie Jean King and embrace Obama math as “adorable.”

This is the polite and patriotic thing to do.

Via Politico:

Before presenting tennis legend Billie Jean King with the Medal of Freedom Wednesday, President Obama ticked off some of her accomplishments: 12 Grand Slam titles, 101 doubles titles, 67 singles titles.

“Pretty good, Billie Jean,” he quipped.

But he didn’t get any of it right, according to King herself.

“They didn’t get any of my facts right,” King lightheartedly noted afterward. “Did you see all the – how many titles I won? I was cracking up.”

“Not even in the ballpark,” she continued.

King found it amusing, and said her accomplishments on the court aren’t the most important.

“I thought it was adorable,” she said.

Watch the video at the link as she shrugs at the inaccuracies: “Who cares?”

To a moonbat, Obama can do no wrong. Apparently, Billie Jean is a fan of this POTUS. But then, most of the people who received the award yesterday were worshipers of Obama. Not all of them, but most. Obama does not generally reward his “enemies”. Once in a while he will throw one into the mix so that he can fool the public into thinking he is President of ALL the people. Most of us with a brain aren’t fooled.

Odd, because the official Women’s Tennis Association Tour website lists those exact numbers for her singles and doubles titles.

And she does indeed have 12 Grand Slam titles, but only in Singles play. She actually has more Grand Slam titles if you include her doubles and mixed doubles titles — 39 Grand Slam titles in total.

So I think someone might need to fact check Billie Jean!

That is a bold, and completely unfounded, statement. You all can speculate all you want about how you think King would have reacted if Bush had done the same, but all we KNOW is how she handled it with Obama, which was to minimize a trivial mistake and show a bit of class.

When asked why she had done this, in spite of the obvious danger of being within a few kilometers of German lines, she replied, “aus Anstand” — “it was the decent thing to do.”

A service was conducted at La Madeleine in Paris before 3,500 mourners and a crowd of well-wishers outside. Her body, covered with an American flag, was then returned to Berlin, …

Who will show up for Billy? (And we know there ain’t going to be no American Flag.)

These awards have been promoted as important by liberals, to make liberals feel good about being liberals. There is nothing heroic, patriotic, or unselfish about any of these recipients actions to warrant recognition. Any recognition should be issued by the special interests they serve.

The more we are “encouraged” to be tolerant, colorblind, and compassionate, the more those “schooling” us (the liberals), go in the opposite direction when they make accusations of racist, zenophobe, uncaring, unpatriotic, greedy, etc.

My open mind closes a bit everytime these idealists open their mouths. Their rage, IMHO, is fabricated, and they neither practice what they preach, nor believe their own rhetoric.

OK, just for fun, since Hussein is the “post racial” POTUS.

Scenario: White POTUS misquotes accomplishments of black & gay sports figure.

My take is that not only would the “white” POTUS, whether Bush or Reagan or take your pick, be lambasted as a racist by most blacks and be absolutely condemned as hating gays/lesbians by those groups. In other words the “white” POTUS purposely misquoted career statistics because the person was black and/or gay.

That is the way our media, liberals, and special interest groups treat white Republicans on a very consistent basis. But you know, its doesn’t matter what Hussein says. If it was a simple mistake or an outright lie or outright misrepresentation this POTUS is above reproach.

Go ahead libs make all the excuses you want to. You are so easy to see through.

So why is a tennis player getting this award?

Have you looked at the recent recipients of the Medal of Freedom? Even under Bush it was a mixture of entertainers (writers, actors, athletes, etc), politicians, scientists and people that fought for our country. Ignoring the fact that Billie Jean King was way more than just a tennis player, if you feel she doesn’t deserve this honor, then there’s at least a dozen more people that received the medal during Bush’s eight years that also did not.

People get so worked up over everything mentioned on this site and think it always nothing less than a sign of the downfall of our society.

And WHO are you wearing this evening. You LOOK beautiful! How many carats in that stunning necklace. Botox, breast implants…you get the point. Narcissism to the hilt. Shallow people who think the sun rises and sets with them. That is another reason why it is mostly libs that get awards. They praise each other ad nauseum.

That’s because the Nobel Peace Prize has nothing to do with peace. It is awarded “as a political statement”. Those words (on at least one occasion)came straight from the committee chairman itself. Jimmy Carter got the prize as a way to embarrass the Bush administration.

Do you wish to continue with the broad accusations, or do you wish to discuss your personal opinion regarding the topic at hand with the goal of reaching a conclusion based on collective reasoning?

As a huge tennis fan myself, I really don’t get the importance of this award. It’s meaningless. Anybody can now receive it for whatever accomplishment under the sun. Even foreign citizens.

Title 9 has so skewed the balance of women’s sports that both men’s and women’s sports aren’t equally funded. In essence, title 9 has had unforeseen consequences as a result of feminist meddling in sports.

Billy Jean King may have done a lot for women’s tennis such as equating prize money but the male tennis players have a point. Why not have the women play 5 set matches like the men? The men often play longer than the women. This is an example of feminist meddling where there shouldn’t have been. It’s about time on the court, not who makes more.

Billy Jean King really just needs to get over herself.

There just is no reasoning with Obama-zombies. He could rape a moose in the middle of one of his twelve dozen prime time “press conferences” that are nothing more than “Hail Obama” rallies and they would say how wonderful it was for him to do it, how it benefitted the moose, and how it saved the country, cured the economy, healed everyone with cancer, brought hope to the masses and changed Washington forever.

    Uhhh….no.

She won 129 singles titles (as opposed to 67).

I think she is getting the medal of freedom for being free to nail fresh innocent females and “turn” them to the lesbian way of life. I had the unfortunate opportunity to witness this disgusting crime against nature during one of my previous jobs involving women workers at a an extremely remote job site. Thank you Mr. president for honoring the lesbian life style. I guess that next week you will present a medal to Barney Frank for his excellent work at destroying the housing financial industry and being a proficient homosexual congressman.
