    Also, this page: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.3200:

And in case that last link does not work, I have attached the file of its text.

    Thank you.

Also, here is the e-mail I sent them last week:

    ————–
    Hi,

As requested, here is a link to a video I think is misrepresenting the socialized health system that the U.S. Government wants to impose on the U.S. populace: http://www.politico.com/singletitlevideo.html?bcpid=1155201977&bctid=31773718001

But of course, my question is: if the proposed legislation is going to be so good for the U.S. populace, why are union members, Congress, the Vice President (and family), and the President (and family) exempt from this legislation?

The “fishy” part of this legislation is that it is misguided. What we should be fighting for is tort reform and allowing free markets to thrive to drive down the costs to consumers. For instance, if I live in say New Jersey where it would cost me $1,500 per month for an insurance plan but I can find an insurance plan out of Iowa the meets my needs but only costs me $700 per month, why I can I not buy the Iowan insurance plan? There are probably other ways for health care costs to go down for consumers without involvinng the U.S. Governement and the subsequent tax increases, but this is a start.

    Thank you.

jsmiddleton4 – it is close to comparing apples to apples because once an insurance company can peddle the same plan across state lines, their risk will change slightly, but maybe not enough to warrant a huge increase in premiums. So perhaps while the current premium is $700, it might go up to $750; still cheaper than the insurance plan someone in New Jersey can only get today.

Yes, I understand that insurance companies base their premiums on who they are insuring, but I also know that the bigger the population that is covered by that policy, the cheaper it should be for everyone in it. Especially when the re-insurance companies get involved to share the risks.

Showing them the image of an American flag would be a symbolic reply to what they are asking us to do, to spy on and report on other Americans who disagree with their administration. Seeing American flags from us might get under their skin. If the gesture wouldn’t be wasted on some whitehouse employee.

I would like to bring your attention to several fishy things.

President Obama has alienated the Surgeons of America by indicating they cut off extremities at $30-50K rather than treating diabetes. The College of Surgeons has stated emphatically that this is absolutely untrue–the Medicare program reimburses surgeons between $740-$1140 for a leg amputation. Please correct this untruth.

Also, AARP has not endorsed any plan at this time, contrary to what President Obama said at his staged townhall meeting. Please correct this untruth.

Finally, people going to these town hall meetings are not Nazi’s, part of a mob, un-American, terrorists, or KKK members. Please correct these distortions. Thank you.

That’s right. All the surgeons I know always but off both legs otherwise it isn’t profitably enough.

I don’t know, but I think this former President should be flagged – for one thing, he seems to be advocating violence in defense of liberty.

And this quote could be construed as critical of I-won‘s lack of respect for the constitutional republic those dead white men the Founding Father’s gave us:

A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine.

See, he even cites the percentage by which I-won won! And he’s calling I-won’s supporters a mob! Must be one of those racist Southerners that Kathleen Parker is talking about.

I’m still thinking about this former Pres, but I’m definitely flagging my cat – do you have any idea what it’s like to wake up to fish-breath every morning? :-P

And/or read David McCullough’s biography of John Adams – IIRC the mini-series was based on it (I have the book, but haven’t seen the mini-series – yet). McCullough’s 1776 is a good read too.

    God Bless America!!

    Amen!
