Town hall time for Obama and ‘the mob’
President Obama is in Belgrade, MT for a health care town hall. The event was billed as “first come, first served,” so we’ll see exactly how early those union reps got out of bed this morning (and if they slept in, there’s always the side door).
Will Obama re-visit his US Post Office gaffe in an attempt to redeem himself from that fit of honesty he had the other day? Will the “spontaneous” event be more carefully staged than a Saturn V rocket? Will the uncoached child of a nonpartisan Obama supporter give everybody an update on the mean signs outside? Will the SEIU be there purely for security reasons — like the Hells Angels at Altamont? Will Nancy Pelosi play “Where’s Waldo, Third Reich Edition” and desperately try to spot anybody with a swastika in the crowd? Will Brooks Brothers have a vending booth on site? How many times will Obama promise that the government isn’t gonna kill your grandma? Will the president stop for an Obama burger at Ted’s before leaving town? We’ll find out soon.
If you have the stomach for this sort of thing so close to a weekend, you can watch the town hall live starting at about 3 p.m. eastern here.
Update: Are those real people sitting behind Obama at the podium, or did somebody just Photoshop in these guys?
Obama insists he won’t raise middle-class taxes, but takes on “people who say, I don’t care how much money somebody makes, they shouldn’t have to pay higher taxes.” He continues: “We’ve got to get over this notion that you can have something for nothing.”

Wonder how many plants he brought this time around.
Good Grief, does this man ever do any work? He needed to read the job description of POTUS before he applied. I believe it does involve more than traveling around the country shooting off his mouth.
Visulaize Joe Biden in drag.
My eyes! My eyes!
I wonder how many children he will call on to ask a question?
The first thing I learned was that 1 in 4 women can misread a pregancy test.
Or visualize Tim Geithner and Rahm Emmanuel as sheep ranchers.
Sorry, could not resist that one.
President Obama is in Belgrade, MT for a health care town hall. The event was billed as “first come, first served,”
That is what Obamacare should be billed as if it passes ” First come, First served. Now I got to go flag myself!
Is that the sequel to Brokeback Mountain?
Al Swearengen: If I bleat when I speak it’s because I just got f@#$%n’ fleeced.
Give me a moment to remove that from my memory… Not Working! Dang, now I am just going to have to live with that one!
Got to go with ObamaCare now, so I can get my free psychotherapy.
SEE WHAT YOU EVIL REPUBLICANS DID!
Okay, he didn’t say that but it reflects the logic these people have embraced.
It might be worth taking note of any Obummer sympathizers in wheelchairs, crutches and/or neck braces. Miraculously playing tennis 2 hours after the meeting might NOT be evidence he really is the Messiah.

LOL @ Doug – it sounds like a soap opera.
“As The Stomach Turns”
(as retained from my childhood’s “The Electric Company”)
How many times does Obama have to repeat the same speech before everyone in the country finally gets it?
preaching ONLY to the choir. what a man.
From Doug Powers opening text, 08/14/2009:
Doug,
On Fox News, a few minutes ago, just before the “Town Hall” began, we were informed that admission was 70% “lottery,” to the public, 30% admission for Democrat Party Law Makers.
If that is true, then admission is not first come, first served, but allegedly “random” admission after people were selected for admission by a lottery system.
Problem: I watched the beginning of the Town Hall, live. I heard strong applause. In fact, right now, just before Obama finished his “Town Hall” speech, the people appear to be unanimously applauding him, loudly, vigorously.
I do not believe for a moment that the audience is really randomly selected via a lottery system, unless they stacked the deck so that Obama supporters were the main people given the opportunity to be selected by the Lottery System.”
We shall see.
Doug,
At this time this “Town Hall” appears to be a dog and pony show, all smoke and mirrors, a set up, or, as Michelle Malkin refers to it, “Kabuki Theater.”
If this ISN’T a staged event, in which they engineered a sympathetic, supportive audience, I will be surprised.
Obama is now “answering questions.”
Time, approximately 3:31 PM
Pray people. Pray he says something that drives the final nail in this horrible health care bill to stop it!
rockhauler,
The country is getting it! We will see what the polls say tomorrow. Please America, wake up to this bho and team.
L
The fascinating thing about these town halls is that they are not an open exchange of ideas, they are lectures by Dear Leader. I read the other day that he outspeaks the questioners something like 9 to 1. Poor teleprompter.
As Queenie Wong writes it:
So, would 17 be considered “many”?
The article had some inaccuracies that needed to be corrected.
ECS
Everytime Obama opens his mouth, his numbers drop. Just keep the mike on and the teleprompter off and good things will happen.
Obama and the Dems have so many “plants” they are running out of space in their “green-houses” to grow any more …
Barackback Mountain?
“BlameAmericaLast,”
Your statement is actually realistic and based on direct experience that is evidenced in revealed broadcasts in which there have been plants, both during the Election Campaign, and also in these “Town Hall” meetings and other events in which Obama, or other Democrats, were “answering” plants who gave scripted questions, or else soft ball, sympathetic questions.
In other words, your suspicions and concerns are well grounded in reality, and have already been proven to be true numerous times.
I share your suspicions and concern.
Barack Obama’s town hall in the Bozeman, Montana area is not as ‘bold’ of a trip into the Wild West as described by Politico’s Carole E. Lee this morning.
Bozeman, Montana is a college town with many resident yuppies and is a home for multi-millionaires looking to buy their own piece of the West.
Although the event is in the Bozeman suburb of Belgrade, a short drive takes you to the popular Big Sky Ski Resort or to the Yellowstone Club, a posh invitation-only playground for millionares. Although it’s since gone bankrupt, at one time it cost a minimum of $250,000 to join, plus the cost of a $5 million to $35 million mountainside home.
Billionaire Ted Turner owns hundreds of thousands of acres in the area and his local buffalo burger joint has already created their $10 Obama burger in anticipation of our burger loving president’s visit. KEEP READING HERE.
Bozeman Montana population about 31,000
Now did any of us really think the audience would be for the general public? There is no way they are going to let anyone in that does not agree with the one.
From what I understand, it’s more than you can stomache, and it is shoved down your throat.
Max Baucus (D) Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, it will take Max Baucus, to move any health care insurance reform bill, through the Senate.
Baucus voting for Sotomayor does not go over in Montana. This astro turf not withstanding.

Yep it’s called a buffalo burger comes from a beeffalo
More or less, they are going to buffalo people, one way or another.
http://www.buffalogal.com/
Too funny!
Unlike the DOTUS (dufus of the US) I have to work for a living. Try to keep the laughter down, I’m going to be busy.
Sure it’s going to take more money to cover 47 million more people but I am going to make it sound easy, and only Rich People will be taxed more so they will be the ones feeling your pain;)
This is some abstract math he is using you can’t project what something will cost Medicare was a whole lot more than they projected. Getting rid of waste what a novel idea SARC. Not going to happen or we would have done it already. As Long as there is Government involved there is going to be waste and fraud. Especially when you consider how they took 1,018 pages of hardly discernible verbage and wanted to pass it before anyone read it they wrote in their loopholes.
He kind of left himself open for that satire didn’t he?
Barack Obama I’m from the Government and I am here to help you. run for the hills.
This is where the myth of government take over comes from. It’s called Crowd Out and he won’t mention it.
Sounds like an area where Ted Turner would have made more money if he’d developed a “Fonda burger”, rather than buffalo burgers. Imagine. Jane Fonda butt on a burger. Kinda old and chewy at this point, and quite tasteless, which would be a lot like Ted himself. LOL
I love it when our Empty Suit loudly and continually proclaims “we will fund healthcare for all largely through “government effiencies”. Maybe he could point ONE out. I’ve never seen any. Oh, wait. I’m asking for specifics. Sorry.
There are so many real answers to the questions that the left often throw as worst case scenarios.
For example, if you are injured in a car accident who will pay for your injuries?
If you are not the at fault party, then the other persons coverage is for you. But on top of that there is a feature of your own coverage that is called med pay, which is for just such an event.
Although this never seemed to be much of a worry to the left when we are discussing illegal aliens friving and wrecking in our country.
Cost, ok what exactly does it cost to go to a doctor. How much, indeed. Most doctors I know when you are paying cash charge very little. I pay cash for my dermotologist visits. I went last month. He looked at me everywhere for suspicious moles etc, wrote 2 perscriptions and laughed about how we had been doing since I last saw him about 10 months ago. T
Total charge 35 dollars. And this is not a country doctor. He is in Las Vegas in summerlin. Not a cheap zip code.
35 BUCKS.
Thats it.
oldcollegeguy1980: I go to a chiropractor, which my insurance doesn’t cover (and by the way, I have government insurance since my husband is retired military), and it costs $35. I actually like paying out-of-pocket. Makes me feel like a grown-up or something! (Maybe because I don’t have to get anyone’s permission.)
It is amazing when you cut through the clutter exactly what all this furor is over.
The truth is much closer to 35 dollars than the left will ever admit.
It is always a small handful of worst case scenarios they attempt to mask their plans behind.
I want to know exactly what each working personi is going to have to pay for this wonderful experiment.
And less is not a number.
What will be the cost. Is it 200 per month per worker. Is it 300 per month per worker.
Will we do this like Income Tax. Force anyone making over 75k bear an undue burden of the cost.
I do not want naymore free crap from the government. I want FREEDOM not FREE STUFF.
But 47 Million isn’t correct it just sounds really big and necessary and like it could be a crisis because they ran out of crisis to exploit. They kind of hit the we have to do it because it is a crisis button one too many times…the American People are saying…Whoa there pardner.
What a crock…
Oh, and welcome back Doug!
Here’s my version of the ObamaBurger: Two slices of baloney on a moldy, stale bun.
Apparently he got away from his handlers again.
Let’s pretend: A worker decides to keep his existing health insurance, then is either fired or layed off. He has a family to support and no money to go on the public plan. At the end of the year, when filing his taxes, he’s going to be fined via IRS intrusion because he doesn’t have insurance.
Here I thought the residents of Bozeman or Belgrade had enough sense to recognize a snake oil salesman when they saw one. Guess not! That Baucus guy looks like a bad embalming case.
BHO keeps stressing that the tax increases on the very rich are going to help pay to get insurance for the uninsured and at the same time he wants to put a cap on the amount the rich can make. Wouldn’t it be better to have the rich get richer so they would pay more in taxes? I’m missing the logic that BHO is using, which is why the gov needs to stop this nonsense.
I’m sure he’s been advised not to call on children anymore and put their lives at risk.
Much like his campaign for POTUS, he will do, and say anything to pass his “real” agenda. And so it goes…
“Methinks he doth protest too much!”
No transparency. A promise repeatedly broken, is just one he never had any intention of keeping…”from day one.”
A person who hides their real intentions, through lies, misdirection, and obfuscation, should be trusted about as much as a pediphile in a day care center.
People should believe him and his “crew” of sanitizers at their own peril. The effluence needs to be stopped before it has a chance to pollute, and destroy mainsteam America more than it already has.
Warming up the crowd. In this case its MM warming up her followers to be outraged at the Presient’s performance before it happens.

“rambler,”
It is sad.
The so-called “Rich” is a term that is related to the “Moving the goal post” tactic.
Those who make that statement about “The Rich” do so as a technique for demonizing a faceless segment of the population, and they do not clearly define who the “Rich” is.
Nevertheless, the top 1% of all earners pay more than their “fair share” of all taxes.
The top 5% approaches the 1/4 of all taxes portion.
The top 15% pay the lion’s share of taxes, while lowest 20% paid NOT taxes.
So Obama and his worshippers and acolytes use word smithing to create a fictitious, nameless, faceless entity to demonize and to hate, one which will magically pay for everyone else.
In some tables, the so-called “middl class” rate that Obama mentions – 1/4 million dollars, or $250,000 per year, IS considered “The Rich.”
Obama DID lie about the economy during Bush’s presidency. Through most of Bush’s presidency the economy was the best it had been in decades, with among the lowest unemployment rates since records were kept.
He so easily gets away with creating straw dogs, tossing red herrings into the mix, and so forth, sicking the dogs on his created red meat to keep them off the trail of HIS presidency and HIS (Obama’s) arrogance, failed causes, and government dominance.
Not that Obama is president for a few months, I have seen that he is not good for the USA, the constitution, the economy, and so much more.
“Total charge 35 dollars.”
No, it did not cost you 35 dollars to see the doctor. It cost you 35 dollars that you can see out of your pocket. Add in all the payments you’ve made for your insurance coverage or taxes you paid to medicare, etc. Part of the problem with going to the doctor today and having procedures done is you have no idea what it really cost…..
It just struck me…Obama’s favorite movie is….
“Mo’ Money.”
Favorite TV character:
Homey D. Clown; Daman Wayans, In Living Color
Favorite line: (Tie;) “Homey don’t play that!” , and Jamie Foxx’s character, Wanda Jackson’s: “I got chu. I got chu.”
Favorite movie lines:
“Show me the money!”, and “Shut up, just shut up. You had me at ‘Hello!”, from Jerry Maguire
They say that this health care plan can be paid for in part with savings in medicare and medicade. PROVE IT! Make the cuts, find the waste, and show us you can make the savings happen. Without doing the savings first there is no credibility in the claim.
Har.
Tell that to the welfare recipients – including those during the campaign who vowed YOU’D pay for their gas and mortgages, Obama – and those who demand the “RICH” give up so THEY don’t have to do more.
And, more to the point, isn’t the promise of socialized medicine really something for “nothing”?
I just can’t punish myself by watching these fake town halls. Did they cage the opposition groups like they did at the Denver DNC Convention?
It’s the old “create an enemy” con game that power-hungry people, throughout history, have always used in order to control people. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that the “rich” are the ones who invest the most, and control businesses. Obama wants us to punish those who succeed in this country; those who attain the “American dream”. The middle class and the poor will pay for this, through increased prices and a sluggish economy. Useful idiots think that the benefits will be cost-free to them. They are so wrong. The con game has to end. Watch businesses move out of the country. Ireland, for example, lowered its corporate tax rate, way down, and business is booming there. At any rate, if congress isn’t changed in 2010, watch the middle class get blasted with taxes.
Actually, I don’t have health insurance and I go to an office visit for $40. With my regular, 2x per year blood work, that’s about $500/year.
If I paid for insurance, it would be $600/MO plus co-pays on all labs. ($7340/year)
And, without insurance, chiropractor costs $35 per visit, with no maximum number of visits per year.
Good Lord, what a buffoon! The something-for-nothing “notion” is the only game in town with the “community organizing”/welfare/ACORN/illegal alien crowd. You know…Obama’s “base.”
Anyone else here heard the latest story of OPM [other people's money] addiction? Apparently, New York state recently doled out $140 million in taxpayer and Soros-donated funds to welfare recipients for these fine folks to purchase back-to-school supplies for their children. According to news reports, a large amount of this money was spent on cigarettes, beer, electronics at Wal-Mart, etc. They gave these people cash, and what a shock! The cash recipients misused the funds…just like with the Hurricane Katrina debit card debacle. Libs have no learning curve.
Rich (adj.)example- The rich aren’t paying their fair share.
definition:
1)Pre-election-Anyone making $250,000+.
2)Post-Inauguration-Anyone making $200,000+.
3)Today-Anyone with a job.
The question I would ask the president is this
“Mr President, having watched town halls from various areas of America. I have heard one resounding theme from the lawmakers. There is not a bill written and no one can say how it will work or how much it will cost. With that fact known, “Why are you here?” Thank you”
I get that the President has gone on a Charm Offensive…and he came across as reasonable. As in: He is likable enough LMAO.
His Arrogancy needs to get over the fact we don’t want what he has AT ANY COST…
Obama stated in the recent Town Halls that people are being dishonest in claiming that he, and congresspersons, were elected so they could kill grandma’, or pull the plug on gradma’.
He is being dishonest, not those who are concerned.
If there is government management of Health Care and if there is a lower level of life quality assigned to grandma’, then grandma’ won’t get treatment, she will get hospice care, maybe, and maybe end-of-life counseling, then she will die and save the government money, or she might be helped along towards saving the government health care system money.
There is nothing dishonest about that, for it is a possible plan of those who want to push through some kind of government run health care plan.
Meanwhile, why can’t the public be intelligent and wise enough to see through Obama’s and the Democrats’ distortions regarding their claim that money to pay for this extremely costly “bill” will come from cutting waste?
I don’t see anyone cutting waste.
As “wrcnossen” said:
Right on!
Obama and his claques have not first cut the waste. They are merely claiming that they will.
I’m with you!
I say, before you do anything else, fulfill the claim you have made, cut the waste!
They are all talk, no action. Only empty promises.
