I saw this yesterday. This just makes me sick! I wonder when, if ever, the ‘poor’ will stop voting for d’s and understand the ‘poor’ are being used to fatten the d’s wallets. I know r’s have done this too, but I would wager the d’s are so far ahead of this kind of stuff. This bho, mo, and team have been doing this from the get go and will continue until, I pray, we can stop them.

    Lemme think a minute…..NO.

Come to think of it, I don’t really trust Obama, either, except to be Obama. He’s a true believer, and that’s the worst kind of socialist. He actually believes that his leftist policies will be good for our nation, so he won’t be open to the kind of political deal making that could prevent the worst of his ideas from approaching law.

To find out that he’s been rubbing elbows with genuine slum lords reminds one of a certain group of pigs and something about four legs good, two legs bad….changing into “four legs good, two legs better…..”

Not having political traction is not the same thing as negating a fact. The two did have a relationship. What might be debatable is the depth of that relationship, not the existence of it.

Not totally different either. Provable significant relationship between Obama and Rezko would have carried more weight than the innuendo MM has been dishing out. It’s the same with Watergate. Nixon was able to get re-elected, but people really turned against him when the real hard evidence started to come out after the election.

So those poor souls in that Rezko owned property in Senator Obama’s district really didn’t suffer from the lack of heat (or the lack of Senator Obama’s interest)?? Just because Katie Couric refuses to cover something doesn’t make it untrue.

Like him or not, Nixon was reelected in a landslide, so this sentence

Nixon was able to get re-elected, but people really turned against him when the real hard evidence started to come out after the election.

seems a bit silly. (emphasis mine)

That’s not what you said. You said there was no relationship between them. They owned land next to each other. Obama purchased land from Rezko in a deal he said he later regretted as Obama was the one to approach Rezko about the deal despite the problems Rezko faced.

Rezko and Obama have been friends since 1990 and Rezko has raised at least $60,000 for him during his political career.

They had lunch 1-2 times a year. Their spouses got together more often.

Rezko hosted a political fundraiser for his 2003 senate campaign. He participated as a member of the host committee for several other events.

    This is an insignificant relationship?

Unfortunately, he may not be. Remember the Clinton cronies that took jail terms rather than turn on Bubba? Bubba was NOT clean and pure as the wind driven snow, but enough people fell on swords (and had them thrust into them) that Clinton got away with a lot. Obamachev may have learned alot from that, too.

You know, when LGM brought up Nixon I was wondering the same thing. In 1972 Nixon got back in, then it all came out. Are Obama supporters so certain they want this exact comparison? With the new media in place, Obama won’t be able to keep as much undercover as Bubba, and if his transgressions get as bad as Nixon’s, he couldn’t keep it under wraps in the old media.

What a great example of the Republican misdirection machine at work. The “enemies list” line about Obama grew out of the “snitch brigade” line, which was an obvious misrepresentation of their “set the record straight” web site. You forward them an email, with the sender information removed, and they will answer the content.

What made the Nixon enemies list newsworthy wasn’t that he had one — any politician would have lists like that — it was how pathetic and petty the list was.
