Scroll down for updates…

Dubious “doctors” keep turning up at congressional town hall meetings to support a government health care takeover plan that sane medical professionals are revolting against in force.

Blogger Patterico smoked out fake pediatrician Roxana Mayer at a Sheila Jackson-Lee town hall.

Now, bloggers have raised questions about a left-wing activist who turned up at Barney Frank’s raucous town hall.

She’s Dr. Sheila Leavitt, identified in press reports as a “physician from Newton (MA).”

But the folks at AR15.com can’t find anyone licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts under the name “Sheila Leavitt.”

Kate at Small Dead Animals does the Googling the rest of the MSM won’t do and finds Leavitt’s trail of nutty, anti-Bush, anti-war activism.

Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit and Steven at Buck’s Right have more.

At Buck’s Right, a commenter who says he is Leavitt’s 16-year-old son says his mom did go to medical school — but “stopped actively practicing medicine 26 some odd years ago” to raise four children.

“Odd” is certainly the right word. Check out her car (via SDA):

Update: It looks like Leavitt was channeling her husband’s persona. He’s a bona fide doctor currently practicing in Boston…

Andrew H. Lichtman, M.D.’81, Ph.D.’81 is Associate Professor of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Dr. Lichtman indicates “My laboratory research concerns the immunopathology of cardiovascular disease, with NIH funded research projects focused on the regulation of T cell responses in atherosclerosis, and the mechanism of T cell trafficking and T cell mediated inflammatory events in the heart. Dr. Lichtman’s spouse is Sheila A. Leavitt; the couple has four children: Eben 22; Areilla 20; Amos 18; Ezra 13 who are involved with music, travel, political activism, hiking, photography, and sports.
