Sean Paige explains how Obama’s environmental bureaucrats are exploiting Endangered Species Act listings to destroy jobs, drive up energy costs and thwart progress.

Scary.

Yeah, but the eco-totalitarians are an important donkey suckling group, so when it comes to a contest between placating them and loyalty to our own species, guess who wins under a donkey administration?

In a way yes, but not really.

The concern is though that humans beings have become so powerful that we are capable of destabilizing the envirorment so much with drastic effects for ourselves. In some cases there is reason to be concerned; for example: over-fishing or killing off predators that results in swarms of pests.

Just because evolution is true doesn’t mean we have to practice it to the point of knowingly harming ourselves, that would kind of go against evolution.

Unfortunately, most times the concern is nonsense, or even (as this article claims) there are alterior motives.

Law of the land… Seems I’ve heard that from Obama previously, in particular while referencing his illegal alien aunt. Where is she now?

Selective enforcement of the law for your own political gain is no better than ignoring it. When President Obama begins to show a greater interest in law enforcement and not just new law legislation to enhance his “legacy” perhaps we’ll consider your faith-based argument.

The ESA has turned into nothing more than a source of employment for environuts and their lawyers.

If they were to take all the money they’ve spent on litigation over the past 30 years and applied it toward actual habitat preservation/renovation the species they keep using for lawsuits wouldn’t be endangered.

As examples, I give you ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation etc. etc. etc. All of these groups spend their money on habitat. As a result the targeted species, in addition to any other species using the same habitat, has thrived.

The environuts are no more interested in species preservation than the Obama Administration is interested in health care reform. It’s strictly a money/power thing and nothing more.

I’m convinced that if we let them take their argument to full fruition, we will all be living in caves in the dark eating grass and weeds.

As other’s have pointed out, it’s perfectly natural for species and subspecies to go extinct over time. What’s unnatural is to try to prop up one that is no longer able to compete successfully (similar to propping up businesses that can’t compete anymore.)

We need to turn the tables on these environmental nutcases. The burden of proof should be on them. If they want to protect a dying species, they should have to produce an environmental impact study to prove the following:

    1) The species to be protected is actually important to the ecosystem.
    2) Show exactly how the loss of the species will harm the environment.
    3) Prove that the activity they seek to prohibit will harm the species in significant ways.

If they can’t scientifically demonstrate all three will occur, they should not have standing in the matter.

It’s the “Don’t Taze Me, Bro” thread. If you ever lose the link, just search (top of the page) for “Taze” and it will be the first one to show up.

Well, though I hear people taste like piggy (and I like pork) I don’t think I’m too keen on eating people, unless I was in a plane crash or something, and then only if I had to.

Nazis on trial at Nuremberg cited to the law as a defense. It didn’t work.

No administration can possible enforce all the laws on the federal books. That is one of the MANY reasons we need a much smaller central government. Each must assign a hierarchy of law they will attempt to enforce.

THE ONE has elected to NOT enforce MANY laws…the Constitution chief among them. They have affirmatively VIOLATED MANY laws, including the most fundamental contract and bankruptcy laws.

The President took an oath to enforce the law.

Nazis on trial at Nuremberg …

There should be a minimum standard for the crime necessary to be compared to Hitler. Enforcing possibly ill considered environmental legislation that possibly foolishly prevents digging a coal mine is not the same as murdering millions of people. Not even close.

Maybe there should be a minimum number of murders — say ten. A President causing more than ten people to be murdered could be compared to Hitler. Between 2 and 9 the comparison could be to Pol Pot. A single murder could get at most an Arafat comparison.

LOL. Of course you are kidding. In all seriousness, anytime anyone makes a Hitler comparison when talking about a politician in a civilized democracy it’s always way off base. It instantly makes the person doing the comparison cede credibility a la Godwin. This is true for both sides.
