David Letterman’s latest publicity stunt: You’re the Taliban

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 21, 2009 01:12 PM

So, here’s what The Perv of Late Night CBS Comedy said last night:

“You know about the Taliban? Over here, we call them ‘healthcare protesters.’”

I wouldn’t get all wee-weed up about it, though.

It’s just another desperate David Letterman stunt. Ho-hum.

Guess there weren’t any teenage daughters of Republican politicians to pick on…

I think NBC was involved in a plot to keep Letterman on the air by putting Conad O’Brain on the Tonight Show opposite him.

Way back in 1984 or 1985, Bryant Gumble was interviewed and he gave alot of insight into how Letterman works. Mr. Gumble said he had no use for Letterman because Letterman’s humor was an “I’m cool and your’e not” type of humor that revolved around ridiculing peoplewho were not rich or famous. Letterman’s staff once tricked a young woman who was “Miss Petite New York” onto his program and then Letterman ridiculed the young woman and reduced her to tears. Later, Letterman would say that he was “miunderstood” as he would do with Sarah Palin years later. It is his favorite stunt. When he ridicules someone and that gets a bad reaction, Letterman just says that the stupid people just aren’t smart enough to get my ironic style of humor. But then Letterman sucks up to every minor celebrity and actor who shows up on his program. A few months ago, Dave had as a guest one of the children of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. Letterman sucked up so much and went on at such length about how he he is a personal friend of Bruce Willis that I actually started to feel sorry for Letterman. It was just pathetic for a 62 year old man to have to suck up so visibly to an 18 year old daughter of a Hollywood A lister.

We see in David Littleman an irrelevant old person who, every night, has to try again to stay relevant to a crowd of people half his age.

His life is nothing. He has done nothing meaningful with it.

His greatest fear is that he will still be suffering his existence when people will be asking questions like: David who? And: Why should I care what he said?

The celebrity/beautiful people don’t like us as they are all so more sophisticated and aware. As with all too many of our elected officials and Grand PooBahs of Government they just can not stand the the proletariat in the Flyover making noise unless it is undying adoration.

The Latin term for such Beautiful People, elected officials and Grand PooBahs of Government is Jerk from the root word “dipstick“. Don’t get caught up in the “Old Person” simcoe: I imagine Letterman was a jerk (from the root word “dipstick“) when he was young.

Letterman quit being funny about twenty-five years ago. Now he comes across as a bitter and angry old man, still desperate for laughs, but no longer capable of getting them without saying something outrageous.

Hannity and other TV personalities can call Obama Hitler, but heaven forbid someone should criticize the helpless townhall disruptors.

Helpless? Um….notsomuch. Bring it on, LGM, you and RSS together could probably not even handle my WW2 vet grandpa, he would kick your commie asses and then thank you for your time. As a matter of fact, Grandma could probably take you on, herself.

Helpless. is NOT what I imagine when I see the roar of the country coming to it’s feet against you Liberal trash talkers.

And Letterman should be ashamed of himself, for lots of reasons, not the least of which is invoking the name of the Taliban who so brutally killed several Americans, including Daniel Pearl. He has proven himself to be a despicable man, and considering the huge numbers of americans opposed to Obamacare (and Obama) he might want to take a long hard look at who butters his bread.

David Letterman and Larry King remind me of the kind of corpses that Michael Jackson was interested in buying – as deformed and ugly as the Elephant man only unlike the physical horror which caused him so much suffering and loneliness, their deformities are spiritual and intellectual and cause pain to others. Seen for the harm they cause, they are more disfigured than Jackson’s face, and more twisted than the Joseph Merrick’s man’s spine.
Hey -David we be a lot funnier when he is confined to nursing homes. Maybe some ex-Yankee ballplayers will rape him – Wow was that funny or what!

Maybe the real Taliban (those White House Staffers) that work on his writing staff threatened to cut off one of his fingers if he didn’t tell the joke.
No, Dave isn’t funny anymore. He was at times in the past. Not all that consistently, but had occasions. Which means that those writers have long since left. He is, not surprisingly, according to the NY Post, beating Conan O’Brien in the ratings with Late Show Reruns. O’Brien is even less funny and more pathetic than Letterman which must take concerted effort to be that bad.
But, if you are a Paul McCartney fan (who during his sit down interview portion of the show when he was on in July said he didn’t like the show) Letterman has made available on YouTube the entire mini-concert that McCartney performed on the marquee outside the Ed Sullivan Theater
