HI AGAIN BOB--thank you for the updated information on the Toyota Prius battery reliability. I didn't realize that things had advanced this much in the battery areas.

Hearing news reports that Bernie Madoff has cancer and is running his incarcerated mouth about it. Infuriating.

Why? Because this isnt a coincidence. The cancer might be, but the blabbling about it is not. This is a pathetic attempt to try to rouse sympathy for Madoff vis a vis the Lockerbie bomber being released from jail to return home to Libya to die, presumably, of prostate cancer.

Thankfully that travesty of justice is Scottish law, not USA law, so technically no American legal precedent was set by the Lockerbie case. Still, Madoff has enough money to hire some lawyers to waste the system's time with appeals, citing that, like the Lockerbie bomber sub-human, Madoff is dying of cancer. Surely then, "COMPASSION" dictates that Madoff be released from prison to be allowed to die at home. I mean, he didnt kill 270 people - he just swindled billions!

After reading British blogs, newspapers, and commentary for years,

I've read them too, for a long time, and have watched a society fall into a gigantic pool of "pc" and "touchy/feely" laws. Some laws are truly outragous. Their hospitals and medical care are so bad, I would refuse to work there, regardless of pay.

I am really disappointed that the Sunday news shows decided that the release of the Lockerbie bomber was not important. There was a deal here and I find it hard to believe that the British are so greedy and cynical that they would sell their souls for so cheap. Obama’s relative silence on this issue speaks volumes about the likelihood that we had a role in this.

After reading British blogs, newspapers, and commentary for years, I have to say that, with a few exceptions, the British have become just as villainous, backstabbing, and as greedy as the French.

They hate us. And we should be well rid of Europe, a dead man walking.

It's some of the best. Big leaf maple has a high sugar content so it imparts a sweet smokey flavor. The indians used the sap to make maple sugar.

I also had three trees milled into lumber to use in the house we built. We wrapped the windows and used it in the doorways.

Not sure why you think they’re not replacing battery packs. A quick trip to a Prius forum indicates that battery death is a sore spot with the owners, especially since the cost of the battery hasn’t come down in the same 9 years you referenced.

Hmmm, well so much for that reference.

I read your link and there were a few who people said they needed battery replacement, one at 130,000 miles and the others, I think around 160,000...so, I guess it can happen.

Still, at the very least, anyone who plans on having the car for less than 10 years and driving it less than 100,000 miles is covered by a non pro-rated battery warranty. After that you're on your on. I did notice there were post discussions about buying rebuilt battery packs, so I assume they get recycled.

Consumer Reports rates the Prius highly for reliabilty, at least they did the last time I looked.

The battery warranty on the Prius is 100,000 miles or 10 years except in California where it is 150,000 miles.

I was in my bath this afternoon and was thinking of my brother's call yesterday about his son in Kuwait. He was saying it is realllllly hot with sand storms. We take for granted our shower, bath, or whatever. Our women and men decided to serve or country. No one made them do this, they did it. It breaks my heart what has happened in less than 8 months to my Republic. My faith makes me think God will help us. I pray daily for Israel. With my health issues, I hope to see my country come out on top. It will be in all of your hands people. Over 200 years this has been the best place God ever made for humans to live and be free. Please see it keeps it that way.

My wife and I had gone to church this morning, then on to the in-laws. One of our godchildren is going back to school tomorrow. The other is too young.

But today, he ran right up to me, several times, and wanted me to pick him up.

He didn't do the same to my wife. As a matter of fact, as we were leaving, his mother told him so say bye to us. He pushed his way past my wife and an ottoman straight for me.

I feel loved.
