Look who’s hijacking 9/11
Matthew Vadum reports that Obama’s left-wing allies are preparing plans to re-brand 9/11 as a national service/eco-zealot propaganda day.
The Obama White House is behind a cynical, coldly calculated political effort to erase the meaning of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks from the American psyche and convert Sept. 11 into a day of leftist celebration and statist idolatry.
This effort to reshape the American psyche has nothing to do with healing the nation and everything to do with easing the nation along in the ongoing radical transformation of America that President Obama promised during last year’s election campaign. The president signed into law a measure in April that designated Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service, but it’s not likely many lawmakers thought this meant that day was going to be turned into a celebration of ethanol, carbon emission controls, and radical community organizing.
The administration’s plans were outlined in an Aug. 11 White House-sponsored teleconference call run by Obama ally Lennox Yearwood, president of the Hip Hop Caucus, and Liv Havstad, the group’s senior vice president of strategic partnerships and programs.
Yearwood, who uses the honorific “Reverend” before his name, has been in the news in recent years, usually for getting arrested. After Democrats took back Congress, the rowdy activist was handcuffed outside a congressional hearing in September 2007 when Gen. David Petraeus was to testify. Yearwood told the “Democracy Now” radio program that he wanted to attend the hearing to hear Petraeus give his report. “I knew that when officers lie, soldiers die,” he said.
On the Aug. 11 call, Yearwood and other leaders kept saying repeatedly that they wanted 9/11 to be used for something “positive,” “forward-leaning,” and “productive,” said a source with knowledge of the teleconference.
The plan is to turn a “day of fear” that helps Republicans into a day of activism called the National Day of Service that helps the left. In other words, nihilistic liberals are planning to drain 9/11 of all meaning.
Makes perfect sense coming from a president who believes that the root of 9/11 jihadi stems “from a fundamental absence of empathy on the part of the attackers.”

The provision turning 9/11 into a “National Day of Service” was lodged in the massive national service expansion bill – GIVE/SERVE — signed into law this spring.
Reminder: Only 14 Republicans in the Senate voted against the bill.

No. Absolutely not. If folks want it to be a day of service, they can do it on their own time.
They can try to mandate it into something PC for future generations, but for those of us who lived through it, it won’t matter what they try to make it.
And what about the 3,000 people who died? Oh – we’re just supposed to forget about them, or the horrific way in which they were taken from us, right?

My family and i will do what we have done for the past five years. We go to our local 9/11 memorial site and touch the steel from the fallen towers and read the names of the people from our community who were murdered that day, and I will tell them exactly who was responsible for their deaths. I will then send them to school with the specific instructions that if they hear anything different from what I told them in the morning, they are to tell me and i will go to the school and make the necessary corrections.

Sounds to me like the Ministry of Information is next going to collect all periodicals containing any reference to the attacks of 9/11 so the references can be replaced with stories of some ficticious event or person. That’s normally what they would do when they want to erase all memory of something and make it an un-event.

I remember that out of respect for the dead and their LIVING family members the MSM will not show the Towers falling ever again.
After hearing about the dismantling of our CIA and the National Day of Service on 9/11. I hope Fox News shows the videotape, in it’s entirety, from that September morning in 2001. It’s time to remind people, especially the left, what happened that day.

A “National Day of Service” is a good idea…a good idea to get out and do “service” for this country by telling the government that we’re sick of them and their policies. That’s my kind of service and very beneficial to the nation.
On September 11, 2001, a friend of mine died in the World Trade Center attacks.
On that same day, in that same city, the following words were printed by the New York Times:
Ayers had previously bombed both the Pentagon and the Capitol building.
On September 11, 2001, both of those buildings were targeted again. And as a self-described Communist Revolutionary, Ayers had a motive to target the tallest symbol of capitalism in our nation’s financial capital (the WTC in NYC).
The name that parents pick for their children says a lot about the parents.
William Ayers and his wife Bernardine Dohrn named their two children Zayd and Malik.
Zayd is an Arabic name meaning “one who progresses and makes other people progress.” The most famous person in Islam named Zayd is Zayd ibn Harithah, who was the orphan boy fostered by the Muslim Prophet Muhammad.
Malik is an Arabic word meaning “king”. Malik is one of the names of Allah, “King” in the absolute sense.
Bill Ayers’ door at the University of Chicago is adorned with pictures including Malcolm X.
The more time goes on, and the more “dots” we collect, the more I think that “connecting the dots” leads to a picture that strongly suggests that Obama’s “family friends” played a role in planning the 9/11 attacks.

Watch public grade school text books coming out in the next few years. Those of us who remember will always remember that day as it was. But little kids, they are the left’s target demographic. And with many parents, not parenting these days….there ya go.
I’m just wondering what December 7 will be renamed for. Secular Winter Festival? Or maybe a “national donate food to feed the hungry day”, so the government can take control of charitable food banks and we can forget about the victims of Pearl Harbor.

Someone please explain to me why I should pigeonhole my voting prospects into only two categories: Republican or Democrat.
And “conservatives” wonder why they are an insignificant voting bloc. It’s because Democrats know you’ll never vote for them, and Republicans know you’ll never a) vote Democrat, and b) “waste” your vote on a third party, which means you’ll always vote Republican. So in the end what reason does either party have to listen to you?

I’m happy to say my fifth grader went to school today and asked his history teacher, in front of the class, why Obama hates Republicans so much and why Obama wants to shut down free speech?
He told me the teacher told him that George Bush ran our country into the ground and Obama is the only person who can correct the wrongs of the last 8 years.
I’ll be going to the school tomorrow morning to discuss with the principal. By the way, the teacher is half white and half black like our President.
What should I say?
Any attempt to force a national day of service/servitude will be met with huge resistance. Any attempt to rebrand the reason we hold 9/11 in reverance will be met with huge resistance.
With Obamanomics sucking the breath out of our economy – how about all those we’re supposed to drop everything to help that day, get up off their collective welfare behinds and do something for those that are worn out from trying to make a living? MM’s post simply makes me sick to my stomach. I was at work at Ground Zero eight years ago on that fateful morning. I saw the south tower get hit. I saw people jump. I lived eight blocks away and lived through the agony of seeing loved ones posting “have you seen me” flyers all over my neighborhood for months after the attacks, and police officers mourning their own.
To watch George W. Bush spend seven years building and destroying his presidency on that day of which he was repeatedly warned but did nothing to prevent still makes me cringe. The right has done nothing but hijack that day and those people’s misery in the name of a war that had nothing to do with the attacks whatsoever. To complain about Obama invoking 9/11 for something as inoccuous as a national day of service is truly beyond the pale.
Like all idiotic ideas coming out of the liberal left these days, this one is bound to fail. Few people will participate, nothing will be accomplished and a year from now, another Looney Tunes idea will be forgotten.

New Obama Interrogation Unit
Al-Qaeda operatives around the world are receiving their Ramadan gift directly from the White House this month. According to the Washington Post, the CIA will no longer be in charge of interrogating suspected terrorists. That responsibility will be given to a new group called the High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group, or HIG, made up of experts from several intelligence and law enforcement agencies. The group will be located at FBI headquarters, but will be monitored at the White House by the National Security Council.
I can imagine jihadists in a cave in Pakistan laughing at the naivety of the Obama Administration and the weak tactics they are going to employ under this interrogation unit. But there’s more.
Interrogators will make decisions about which detainees will be read their “rights” on a case-by-case basis. An unnamed official in the Administration has said the new unit’s goal is to “glean intelligence, especially about potential terrorist attacks.” If this really was its goal, it would take the necessary steps to obtain the vital information needed to protect innocent Americans here and abroad.
The same official went on to say, “It is not going to, certainly, be automatic in any regard that they are going to be Mirandized, nor will it be automatic that they are not Mirandized.” This official obviously understood the backlash the Administration would receive if it admitted that our precious constitutional rights now extend to our most dangerous enemies. But the attempted obfuscation makes it clear that the Obama Administration has reduced the war against Islamic terrorism to a law enforcement issue.
Now, THAT’S “All wee weed up”!!!
I suppose the next step will be to take the Fourth of July holiday that is celebrated by those who love what this country stands for and turn it into a National Day of Apology where the far left and all those who despise what this country stands for can join Obama in offering apologies to the world for our past prosperity and success.
We’ll never commit those sins again if the left has any say in the matter. They’ll get us so far in debt we’ll never recover. And if it appears that the economy is beginning to improve, they’ll simply ratchet up Cap and Trade until energy is too expensive to allow anyone to make a profit – except Gore, Sorros, Goldman Sachs and their buddies on the left who will control the trading of carbon credits.
