SEIU Watch: Who’s hiding behind the union bosses now?

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 25, 2009 10:00 AM

When you can’t stand the heat, surround yourselves with Purple Shirts.

The latest congressional fugitive to take sanctuary at a union office is Pennsylvania Democrat Rep. Chaka Fattah. Via PA Water Cooler and Panzramic:

In related news, SEIU is crowing about radical president Andy Stern’s listing among the “Top Ten Most Powerful People in Healthcare”:

SEIU President Andy Stern has been named in the top ten of Modern Healthcare’s ranking of the 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare, announced today in the publication’s August 24 edition.

It’s an honor to make Modern Healthcare’s listing of the ‘Top 100′ most influential “movers and shakers in healthcare”–and this year marks the fifth year in a row Stern has been named in the annual rankings. Stern is referred to as one of “the chief architects of healthcare reform,” alongside other top contenders President Barack Obama, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, Sen. Baucus (D-Mont.) and OMB director of the White House Office Peter Orszag.

That’s what $61 million in union dues and the “persuasion of power” buys you.

    The Union plan,

Raise wages and benefits on employers to near disastrous levels,

dump their health plans on taxpayers,

raise wages again to make up that difference,

Continue to reap millions in union dues for a small handful of union bosses,

    the end justifies the means.

Too bad these people in purple aren’t as playful and innocent as the popular children’s character, “Barney”.

They are mean-spirited bullies who have a socialist agenda and are aligned with the environuts and the community organizers trying to destroy all that this country stands for.

Isn’t holding a political meeting in a private “residence” illegal? I thought they had to be held in public buildings?

Of the many templates the media is attempting to foist upon us

is that Obama, peace be upon him, is the new FDR

    and that

if you take into account his family, it is the new Camelot.

When in fact he is the new LBJ

That is the proper comparison. And the one that should be the answer to every FDR attempt.

It’s not just the SEIU who are organizing and that the political fraidy cats are using. We received a recorded message from the AFL-CIO to attend our areas town halls yesterday to disrupt the angry voices and get health care passed. We are not even union and not sure how our number was given to them. I captured the number the call came from on caller ID 202-639-6258. Anyone else get these calls yet?
I am genuinely angry that healthcare is getting socialized and the lies that are being told by our representatives to us. I don’t need to be prodded by some union to attend. I am not in their corner. I want choice and the freedom to choose who, what, when, and how I receive my health care.

the total union population of the u.s. is 14%. remove teachers union and gubmint workers union people, and true labor union population is about 5%. calculate the collapse of the autoworkers union through obamanomics, and the coal workers and electrical workers union through cap and tax, and true union participation will be 12% by 2012. between now and then these pension funds and slush funds are going to be radically depleted paying unemployment and strike wages as businesses shut down and gubmints force layoffs or furloughs. businesses must make a profit, or they are a hobby. gubmint never makes a profit, they print their profit for next year. soon, the bills are coming due, and the grand theory of socialism will hit the brick wall of reality. No One Works For Their Neighbor.

I just saw this on Politico:

Faced with a souring public mood on health care reform, Democrats and their supporters are launching a national grassroots push Wednesday to show lawmakers that the majority of Americans still support overhauling the system

Now, is there anything at all in that sentence that seems just a little contradictory? (Hint: it has something to do with grassroots.)

no but whocalled.us says this is probably from the AFL-CIO who doesn’t return phone calls…just ignore them or better yet report them to your State and Federal do not call lists with a complaint….

Go on line and enter the number using Google; you should get some info about who has called.

I think we should ALL report these calls. Now that we have a phone number, we can report them to the do-not-call police. Will it do any good? No, but it should send a message that we are on to their illegal activities.
