The wretched excess begins

I’ll let these speak for themselves:

Kennedy’s Death Spurs Calls to Pass Health Legislation

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office sent an email to reporters at around 2:30 a.m. today, just hours after his death, calling for the passage of health care overhaul. “Ted Kennedy’s dream of quality health care for all Americans will be made real this year because of his leadership and his inspiration,” the statement read.

MSNBC’s Matthews: Barack Is The Last Kennedy Brother

Byrd: Rename health care bill for Kennedy

***

William Jacobson: Rush was right.

Strange, when Rush Limbaugh used the phrase “Kennedy Memorial Health Bill,” he was harshly criticized. But that was back in March, on the heels of the stimulus bill, when passage of a Democratic health care restructuring bill seemed like a certainty.

Now that passage of Democratic health care restructuring seems much less likely, I guess it is okay to invoke Kennedy’s name.

I suspect that Kennedy would approve of the leftards politicizing his death to promote socialized medicine.

After all, he never had to worry about living with the consequences of his actions while he was alive so the thought of us living with the consequences of his actions after he is dead certainly won’t bother him.

He was Specialist 4 in the Massachusetts National Guard. When I was on active duty, I remember that he spoke about raising pay and allowances for junior enlisteds and how he understood how underpaid they were from his military experience. I hardly think SP4 Edward Kennedy’s military experience was anything like other members’ in his Massachusetts National Guard unit.

You might say he has been Farrah’d. There are deaths and then there are deaths. It all depends on whether the liberals want you immortalized or just forgotten. If it wasn’t for double standards, they would have no standards at all.

The real irony of all of this:

Had Obamacare been in effect when Kennedy was diagnosed, and if he weren’t exempt from that care, he would have been room-temperature long ago.

The fact that they’re using this as a springboard to try and make another run at passing Obamacare is no surprise. No honor and no shame – it’s the rule, rather than the exception in Washington.

That aside, we really need to do this, for the children Teddy.

    Very interesting…

The following reconstruction, developed from general descriptions of the scene, numerous eyewitness interviews, investigative reports, and Kennedy’s statements that have been published in newspapers and magazines, explains why events unfolded as they did.

This approach demonstrates conclusively that the only hypothesis that fits the overall picture is that there were three people in the car. This theory has been mentioned in the media from time to time. For instance, Herb Caen, a well-known columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, noted in his column of July 9, 1981, that locals have come to believe that this was the case. In a step-by-step process, however, this reconstruction shows for the first time exactly how such a theory is the only credible explanation.

I think it makes sense. Especially since Mary Jo did not have her purse with her and the purse found in the car belonged to one of the other young ladies.

Just got an email from the President about Ted:

Elm Creek — Michelle and I were heartbroken to learn this morning of the death of our dear friend, Senator Ted Kennedy. For nearly five decades, virtually every major piece of legislation to advance the civil rights, health and economic well-being of the American people bore his name and resulted from his efforts. His ideas and ideals are stamped on scores of laws and reflected in millions of lives — in seniors who know new dignity; in families that know new opportunity; in children who know education’s promise; and in all who can pursue their dream in an America that is more equal and more just, including me. In the United States Senate, I can think of no one who engendered greater respect or affection from members of both sides of the aisle. His seriousness of purpose was perpetually matched by humility, warmth and good cheer. He battled passionately on the Senate floor for the causes that he held dear, and yet still maintained warm friendships across party lines. And that’s one reason he became not only one of the greatest senators of our time, but one of the most accomplished Americans ever to serve our democracy. I personally valued his wise counsel in the Senate, where, regardless of the swirl of events, he always had time for a new colleague. I cherished his confidence and momentous support in my race for the Presidency. And even as he waged a valiant struggle with a mortal illness, I’ve benefited as President from his encouragement and wisdom. His fight gave us the opportunity we were denied when his brothers John and Robert were taken from us: the blessing of time to say thank you and goodbye. The outpouring of love, gratitude and fond memories to which we’ve all borne witness is a testament to the way this singular figure in American history touched so many lives. For America, he was a defender of a dream. For his family, he was a guardian. Our hearts and prayers go out to them today — to his wonderful wife, Vicki, his children Ted Jr., Patrick and Kara, his grandchildren and his extended family. Today, our country mourns. We say goodbye to a friend and a true leader who challenged us all to live out our noblest values. And we give thanks for his memory, which inspires us still. Sincerely, President Barack Obama

(If you’re wondering how I came to get an email from Da One, I registered for the SEIU on-line meeting with him. I was unable to participate since I had to work, but ever since I’ve been getting the weirdest emails.)

Sorry, Mister President, but ol’ Ted wasn’t one of my heros. I prefer men of honor.

Need to correct this. Edward (Ted) Kennedy enlisted in the Army in 1951 after getting kicked out of Harvard for cheating. He asked for military intelligence training but was released after a couple of week for unspecified reasons. He trained as an MP and was sent to Germany although the Korean War was raging at the time. In Europe, he found time to travel and climb the Matterhorn. At the time of his discharge in 1953, he was a Private First Class.

mmm-Perhaps Lady Caroline forgot this in her Sermon By the Sea at the DNC.

While expelled, Kennedy enlisted in the Army, but mistakenly signed up for four years instead of two. His father, Joseph P. Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador to England, pulled the necessary strings to have his enlistment shortened to two years, and to ensure that he served in Europe, not Korea, where a war was raging. Kennedy was assigned to Paris, never advanced beyond the rank of Private, and returned to Harvard upon being discharged.

A Eulogy to a traitor who tried to help the Communists win the Cold War at the same time that Reagan was trying to help the USA win.

Teddy was never more than a drunken playboy who neglegently killed a young woman (while his pregnant wife was at home) and supported Socialism/Communism throughout his life, even trying to undercut President Ronald Reagan.

And of course the MSM (Marxist Socialist Media) will sing his praises.
