The wretched excess begins

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 26, 2009 12:02 PM

I’ll let these speak for themselves:

Kennedy’s Death Spurs Calls to Pass Health Legislation

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office sent an email to reporters at around 2:30 a.m. today, just hours after his death, calling for the passage of health care overhaul. “Ted Kennedy’s dream of quality health care for all Americans will be made real this year because of his leadership and his inspiration,” the statement read.

MSNBC’s Matthews: Barack Is The Last Kennedy Brother

Byrd: Rename health care bill for Kennedy

***

William Jacobson: Rush was right.

Strange, when Rush Limbaugh used the phrase “Kennedy Memorial Health Bill,” he was harshly criticized. But that was back in March, on the heels of the stimulus bill, when passage of a Democratic health care restructuring bill seemed like a certainty.

Now that passage of Democratic health care restructuring seems much less likely, I guess it is okay to invoke Kennedy’s name.

How tacky of Pelosi. Irrespective of your political stripe let’s all come together to acknowledge Ted Kennedy’s legacy, the man. The only appropriate thing right now is to reflect and not use his death for polical gain, on either side of the aisle. But if the lefties want to use the ol’ Teddy as a poster-child for Cuba-Care for the rest of us, the best answer would be to point out that under a socialized medicine scheme, given his “lifestyle choices” he’d have never made it to age 77.

    INCLUDE ME OUT

Thou shalt not speak ill of the dead. This commandment is so widely accepted as if it came straight from Mount Sinai. Hmm… it seems I’ve heard a lot of bad things said about the late Adolph Hitler. With Joseph Stalin it is even curiouser; while still alive, “Uncle Joe” had been positively idolized by the U.S. elites and opprobrium did not start coming his way until after he assumed room temperature. So it looks like it all depends on whose ox is being gored.

With this in mind, allow me to pit my reedy voice against the howling of a veritable storm of grief for Senator Edward Kennedy that has engulfed the U.S. media like a force 5 hurricane as soon as word came of his passing at 77. Let other people shed tears, I am not going to join them. As that king of the Irish bull, Sam Goldwyn , would say, include me out.

The liberal ideology is inimical to the health of the U.S. Why should I mourn its acknowledged champion widely known as the Liberal Lion, the bloated wreck of a man, with a hard-earned, life-long reputation as a libertine and alcoholic. Has any American deserve less respect? Has anyone done more to destroy this country? The list of his depredations is endless, but let’s point out just some of the highlights of his long and distinguished career in the field of cardinal sins and political mischief.

Forty years ago, he drove Mary Jo Kopechne off a bridge at Chappaquiddick and swam to safety, leaving the poor girl trapped underwater in the Oldsmobile. And while she slowly suffocated to death , he was busy plotting his alibi with his retainers, and did not call the police until 10 hours later. It speaks volumes about the level of corruption in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, that the drunken criminal who had left the scene of a fatal accident almost literally got away with murder. He received a two-month prison term, suspended of course, and was handily returned to the Senate by the voters in the next election. And when in 1980 the memories of Chappaquiddick undermined his chances in a nomination race with the sitting president, Kennedy supporters loudly bemoaned the tragic fate of their idol. Who should be mourned: the criminal or the victim?

It is not for nothing that Obama extols Kennedy as the “greatest senator”. From the viewpoint of Obam and his ilk, he was. Kennedy’s fingerprints are all over Just about any piece of legislation inimical to the U.S. Particularly notable was a scheme for flooding the country with Third world immigrants that he cooked up or inspired and steered through the Senate, thus dramatically changing the ethnic composition of the U.S. with grave consequences for the stability of the country.

Defending the Immigration Act of 1965 in a speech on the floor of the Senate, Sen. Kennedy derided the critics of his bill and sonorously promised that it “will not food our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admissions. It will not cause America workers to lose their jobs.” It didn’t do all of those awful things, now did it?

He thought nothing of creating enormous social and economic dislocations by importing a huge number of potential Democratic voters and placing partisan considerations above the national interests. All the dire predictions he had mocked have since come to pass, but he has never apologized, never acknowledged his contribution to the ruination of his country. Why then mourn him?

At the conclusion of the Vietnam War, he led the Democratic forces to aid the North Vietnamese aggression. Emboldened by President Nixon’s political troubles stemming from the Watergate scandal, the Senate Democrats succeeded in cutting off all aid to South Vietnam, betraying America’s loyal ally. Alone and demoralized, it promptly fell and millions of people were delivered into communist slavery. Hundreds of thousands of them died while trying to flee by sea or succumbing to starvation and beatings in concentration camps. But he didn’t lose sleep over their fate? Why mourn this man whose hands have so much blood on them?

Senate Democrats flouted all norms of decency, treating conservative nominees to the Supreme Court like dirt. But none of them stooped lower, or behaved more egregiously, than Kennedy. Who could forget how the Senior Senator from Massachusetts read a naked propaganda screed against Robert Bork, viciously smearing one of the nation’s most respected jurists and blatantly lying about his record. Kennedy politicized the confirmation process, basically rendering it utterly useless, and subverting the constitutional role of the Senate. To mourn him after that?

But all these assorted crimes and misdemeanors pale into insignificance beside the truly incredible fact that Sen. Kennedy offered his services to the intelligence service of America’s sworn enemy, the Soviet Union. The Kennedy treasonous maneuvers are described in detail in numerous documents unearthed in the KGB archives by British journalist Tim Sebastian (Times of London, February 1992), noted Russian journalist Yevgeniya Albatz (Izvestia, June 1992), KGB archivist Vassily Mitrokhin who defected to the West with thousand of authentic KGB documents (report “The KGB in Afghanistan”, 2002), famous Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky and his coauthor Pavel Stroilov (nro online, 11/27/2006), highly respected U.S. intelligence expert Herbert Romerstein ( Human Events, December 2003), Prof. Paul Kengor in “The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism” (Regan Books, January 2006).

Had “The Blob” been a communist or a fellow traveler, at least he could plead misguided idealism as a mitigating factor. But no, Ted Kennedy was nothing of the sort. Pursuing crass self-interest, initially, he sought KGB help to undermine President Carter, his rival in the 1980 Democratic nomination fight; later on, for purely partisan reasons, he tried the same trick to undercut another U.S. President , Ronald Reagan. Do you still want me to mourn this vile man?

Aldous Huxley relates in “The Grey Eminence”, a biography of Father Joseph, Cardinal Richelieu’s principal associate, that when news of Richelieu’s death reached the Vatican, Pope Urban VII “sat for a moment in pensive silence. “Well,” he said at last, “if there is a God, Cardinal Richelieu has much to answer for. If not, he has done very well.” My sentiments exactly as applied to Senator Kennedy. Let me add my fervent wish for a God to exist.

A lecher, a drunkard, a criminal, a far-left radical, who has done his damnedest to advance the cause of communism around the world and to subvert his country, and, to top it off, a traitor – and I am required to eulogize him? Like I said, include me out…On second thought, though, yeah, why not mark Sen. Kennedy’s passing, but first let me rush to my medicine cabinet and take a laxative so I’ll have something to lay on his grave.

Long forgotten is that the whole War on Poverty multi-trillion dollar fiasco came about becasue of the ground swell of sympathy over JFK’s assasination. That thing had no chance of passing until he died.

Hopefully, we have learned something since then.

In my opinion, it appears that…

…the Communists were behind the JFK assassination in order to further their Socialist/Communist objectives under LBJ.

…the Communists were behind the use of Arab terrorists in the RFK assassination in order to prevent another anti-Communist from reaching the presidency.

…the Communists were behind the attempted Reagan assassination in order remove an anti-Communist and promote a CFR and trilateral member to the Presidency.

…the Communists were behind the use of Arab terrorists in the 9/11/2001 attacks in order to pass the Patriot Act. The Patriot Act was passed by, and defended by, Republicans, and the Democrats acted like they were against it. If they were truly against it then, why aren’t they against it now?!? The powers given to the government by the Patriot Act were “safe” in the hands of George W. Bush, but those same powers will be used against us by comrade Barack Hussein Obama.

    Wait and see…

    Permit me a few corrections:

Ted Kennedy’s nightmare plan of mediocre, rationed, health care for all Americans (except Congress, several thousand federal government employees, and union members), while he used his father’s rum-running family fortune to buy the best health care in the world, will fail miserably when the truth is finally known, in spite of self-serving politicians like Ted Kennedy.

I don’t recall Fat Ted having to ask permission from anyone in government about whether or not any aspect of his healthcare could be pursued before he embarked on it.

If Nancy and the rest of the socialists want to name a healthcare bill in memory of Fat Ted and / or use Fat Ted as the inspiration to pass a healthcare bill, then I want its provisions to guarantee that every American get the exact same healthcare that Fat Ted got every day of his life including the last year.

Anything less than that is an unworthy testament to the way Fat Ted chose to live his life and reeks of hypocrisy.

I pose the question; with the greatest healthcare system in the world, is this the best we can off the most important elected female official in our country? What a great social injustice. He could walk into any medical office and get every single test and treatment that his ill-gotten millions could buy. Typical elitist cr*p from the libs.
