Oh, no: Here comes “Open Borders For Teddy”

By Michelle Malkin  •  August 27, 2009 12:09 PM

First, KennedyCare.

Next up: ShamnesTeddy.

Morton Kondracke is leading the charge:

Along with a health care reform bill, it would be a fitting tribute to the late Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) if Congress could act on his other great unfinished cause: immigration reform.

For all his liberal Democratic passion, Kennedy understood — as few of his colleagues seem to nowadays — the importance of working on a bipartisan basis to get legislation passed.

He worked with President George W. Bush to pass No Child Left Behind education reform and a Medicare prescription drug law, though he ultimately opposed the final bill as insufficiently generous.

Kennedy’s death undoubtedly will elicit calls to get health care reform legislation passed in his memory, but reforming the immigration system was also one of his major goals yet unreached…

…Obama campaigned in 2008 promising that comprehensive immigration reform would be on his first-year agenda, but during a trip to Mexico this month, he said it had to be put off until 2009, an election year.

The administration is certain to call for swift action on health care reform as a tribute to Kennedy. But it also should accelerate work on immigration reform in his name.

The mad rush to capitalize on Kennedy’s death is yet the latest manifestation of Rahm Emanuel’s decree to never allow a crisis to go to waste.

I agree. In addition, Obama recently said he doesn’t “want the folks who created the mess to do a lot of talking”.

I couldn’t agree more. Kennedy, whether dead or alive, should be the last person to give input on immigration policy.

I’m thinking it would be fun to have a competition to see how far removed from anything even resembling real cheese we can get with a “cheese product”. I’m sure we have a way to go yet.

Oh sure, let’s continue pushing the policies of a guy who was never correct on his assessments of the impacts of those policies. He said the 1965 immigration act wouldn’t change the ethnic balance of the nation. The 1986 amensty was 1 time and the government would seal the border in exchange. Wrong on both. What could possibly go wrong now? Let’s repeat the same mistakes.

The American public would have never agreed to these policies had the truth been known. So stop pushing them now. In fact, it’s time to reverse these horribly policies. Starting wiht the repeal of the 1965 immgiraiton act, followed by elimination of “birthright citizenship”.

On this I think there is a strong likelihood they may be giving themselves “enough rope” to create a Wellstone Memorial backlash effect. (And a Paris Hilton-saturation backlash effect.)

Even people who either liked him or who were apathetic have their point of “enough already”.

Although I think it would be shameful for Obama to follow the Wellstone Mem orator’s lead with a “let’s do this for Ted!!” rally-like eulogy, I’m kinda hoping he does. It would fire up the immediate, local audience (as with Wellstone) but it would open even more eyes – in disgust – amongst the American populace in general.

Teddy was never more than a drunken playboy who neglegently killed a young woman (while his pregnant wife was at home) and supported Socialism/Communism throughout his life, even trying to undercut President Ronald Reagan.

And of course the MSM (Marxist Socialist Media) will sing his praises.

And of course the Socialists in congress will try to capitalize on his death in the hopes of passing more Socialist legislation.

Health Care for Teddy, from Care2

Ted Kennedy’s sad passing is a time to reflect on his legacy as an American statesman — but it’s also a time to galvanize us into action to pass his biggest unfulfilled dream: a strong health reform bill.

In honor of Ted Kennedy, pass strong health reform legislation! >>

Many years ago, Senator Kennedy vowed to bring health coverage to every American. And he was never as close to recognizing his dream as in recent months, as Congress debated America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009.

This comprehensive health care reform legislation will finally lower health care costs, provide a public option and offer greater choice and a higher quality of care for all Americans. And it’s a fitting tribute to an unparalled American leader.

Senator Kennedy said that health care was the fight of his life. Today, please pick up the torch and recommit America to health insurance reform >>

I prefer to think of Fat Ted as Lyin’ of the Senate.

On another topic: exactly how does tying Fat Ted to ObamaCare make sense?

As a senator, Fat Ted had A Number 1 healthcare and as a multi-millionaire living in a country that had the best private sector based medical system in the world, he could easily afford any medical procedure known to man that wasn’t covered by his health plan.

Fat Ted’s situation bore no resemblance to the government sponsored POS system currently being proposed, so to state that this system should be passed in memory of Fat Ted is the ultimate dose of hypocrisy.

But we’re talking socialists here, where hypocrisy du jour is a way of life.

I don’t live on traffic, Thomas, but I do enjoy blogging and sharing the things I post on my blog. If you don’t like it, don’t click the link.

Hi Thomas – a coupla things; I’m a bit adverse to self-promotion myself, but I don’t hold it against folks who engage in it. I usally just pass on clicking.

Where I do think RWR is just a bit redundant is in including a second link. Anyone who has a website, blog, etc., they want to share can embed it in their handle when they post – as RWR already does. So the second link is unnecessary.

At any rate, it just a matter of clicking or not clicking , so to me it’s no biggee. My choice.

I’ve only provided one link this entire thread.

You are the one who repeatedly ends each and every comment with “RWR” as if we don’t know who the hell you are and another link to your blog after the first link to your blog that you created with your name. You spam this page three times with every comment. And then you blame it on someone else.

Like I said before, Michelle’s webmaster puts those links in, not me. All I do is what I do at every blog I comment on, and I’m not changing just because some idiot pipsqueak doesn’t like it.

For three and a half years, I’ve used the same sign-off on EVERY comment I’ve made. Hundreds of thousands of people have read my comments without issue. If you don’t like it, don’t click the link. I’m not even forcing you to read what I put here.

In case nobody told you, comment areas are places where bloggers do much of their promotion. I actually do less linking of my own posts than most do. I do link my party platform a lot because I believe it to be the way out of the crap we’re dealing with now, but I only link it when it’s appropriate to the discussion at hand.

I linked my Kennedy post earlier in the thread because this thread is about Kennedy … get it?

I will not be changing, so get used to it, or at least STFU. Your problem is not my problem, so get over it.
