Team Obama denies politicizing homeland security. Insert laugh track.
Props to the Associated Press for stepping outside its traditional role as Obama water-carriers and shedding light on the none-too-surprising politicization of border security funding under DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano.
She’s in a state of denial.
The White House is desperately undermining transparency.
And maybe it’s finally dawning on the media stenographers that the Era of HopeNChangeyness ain’t all it was cracked up to be.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Thursday that politics did not influence the decision to spend millions of dollars in stimulus money on little-used border checkpoints while passing over higher-priority projects.
Members of Congress have asked for answers after The Associated Press showed that the Obama administration did not follow its internal priority list when handing out money to repair border stations nationwide.
Two Montana senators have taken credit for securing money for projects in their state, including $15 million for a border crossing that sees about three travelers a day. Democratic Sen. John Tester said he and colleague Max Baucus personally appealed to Napolitano to make that and other Montana projects happen.
At a Dallas news conference Thursday, Napolitano said the AP story “was just wrong and I’ll say that because there was no kind of political issues involved there.”
The AP reviewed the department’s priority list, which showed that some low-priority projects were being funded ahead of more pressing needs. Officials would not allow AP to keep or publish the list and would not provide justifications for deviating from it.

Of course they’re politicizing border security funding. To do otherwise would be like letting a crisis go to waste.
Democrats use the border as an excuse to spend large sums of money on political favors without actually fixing any problems on the border. That’s a win-win situation to them because they like the money but they don’t really want to fix the borders. It’s like when Democrats and teacher unions use children as an excuse to get more funding for schools and then spend the money on everything but helping the children.

We can not give that kind of power to ANYBODY and then be surprised when someone abuses it. Let’s not fool ourselves-incompetence is not the problem although I am sure there is some of that: These people are quite competent in advancing their fascist/marxist goals. Z, that is actually one of the more depressing things I’ve read of late. On some levels, I have welcomed illustrations of the incompetence of this administration. But is it so much that we the people will just become numb to it? Scary thought.
We will be hit. From the POV of the Obama administration, it would be but another crisis to be exploited to the fullest extent possible. My sense is this administration is desperate (the word of our time) for its Reichstag fire. The Enabling Act awaits. A truly massive terrorist strike — I leave speculation as to the details to others — would serve the purpose most excellently.
It just keeps getting better. This administration is a joke at our expense.

If we don’t get hit, it’ll be a major disappointment to the entire Obama cartel. I have no doubt they are planning on using the next terrorist attack as an excuse to establish their brownshirt army and attack our civil liberties.
The government, including former president Bush and his administration, current president Obama and his administration, the House and the Senate, and the judicial system are not properly taking steps to ensure our safety and security.
If they do not securing our borders, and if they will not secure our borders, then they are not doing their job, and they cannot claim that they are fighting Jihadi’s, terrorists, or anyone else.
Of course they are -the same way they are fighting the ‘war on drugs’ and ‘war on poverty’. Just throwing money at their friends without reallly solving the problem.

I was thinking last night about the incredible history of this unique, wonderful country and what these evil people are doing to take it from us. I am so angry today. I may take the day off and try to get myself together…to pray and just try to regroup. This country of mine, whose ancestors came here at great personal risk, to a land of great beauty, but great danger. Hundreds of thousands died in their efforts to forge this land. They travelled west, not knowing what was in store for them, just their faith in God taking them forward. Most families lost at least one child in their youth. The tragedies they endured. Yet, because of their Judeo/Christian values and beliefs, they put their trust in the Almighty and kept going. Just think of what this country contributed to the world!! Just think!!! Not only all the inventions, but the scientific discoveries that have made the world so much better. America did that!! We have our traditions that have kept us together as a nation and kept us civil. Where is it going? The radical left (a minority in this country) has practically destroyed us. They don’t believe in God and have succeeded in taking Him out of our schools and now are trying to remove Him from everything else. They tell us we must be tolerant of the most depraved, disgusting actions, and deride us as bigots if we don’t blindly go along with it. They are now close to succeeding in turning this amazing democratic republic into a marxist state. They are, daily, tearing up pages of our Constitution without any apologies. They sneak legislation through in the dead of night and tell us to just suck it up. We KNOW what they are doing to our country. Now, we have to take it back!
Watch Glenn Beck tonight and see what he has in mind for us to do about this evil attack on our values, our traditions, our very existence. We have to fight with everything we have. Surrender is not an option. My children and grandchildren deserve my best efforts. And my ancestor, Thomas Paine cries out from his grave!

We paid for the creation of the list, we pay for the work to be done. What happened to the FOIA?
My guess. What better way to ensure the border is not secured than by redirecting money to projects and areas that have no impact on securing the border? Neither napolitano nor obummer want the border secured or the illegal invaders deported. Using the money to help fellow dems is only icing on the cake.
I won’t give props to the AP for doing -what they are supposed to be doing-.
And since the press won’t keep the heat on anything related to Obama, the Conservatives in Congress need to do it… and do it with relentless determination. They need to go above and beyond the call of duty and attack people like Napolitano and the other Obama-bots.
There is a crisis brewing in our country. Conservative representatives have a responsibility to fight for us. Only a select few Republicans have inconsistently answered that call. They need to step it up in a big way. And those that are hiding in their offices need to get into the fight.
