Gadhafi’s camping trip is a bloody outrage
My syndicated column below rakes the State Department over the coals on its decision to grant Moammar Gadhafi entry into this country next month and its feckless efforts to accommodate his camping trip to New Jersey.

Gadhafi’s camping trip is a bloody outrage

How much more suffering does the Obama administration want to inflict upon American relatives of Lockerbie bombing murder victims?
Watching Lockerbie terrorist Abdel Baset al-Megrahi walk free after serving a measly eight years of a life sentence was cruel enough. Next, Lockerbie families endured the despicable hero’s welcome party thrown for Megrahi by Libyan thug Moammar Gadhafi. Soon after came reports that al-Megrahi, released by Scotland for “compassionate reasons” due to terminal prostate cancer diagnosed by a lone anonymous doctor, may not actually have less than three months to live.
And now? Now, the Lockerbie families must prepare for the sight of Gadhafi jetting to New York City for a thug-of-the-month speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September – topped off by a planned jaunt to Englewood, New Jersey, where the murder-stained jihadi financier wants to pitch a swank, air-conditioned Bedouin tent to greet well-wishers.
The civil liberties crusaders who fret over America’s “inhumane” treatment of Gitmo detainees with smoke in their eyes have shown no compassion for the loved ones of Lockerbie murder victims getting kicked in the teeth.
New Jersey was home to 38 of our fellow Americans who lost their lives on Pan American Flight 103 in 1988. Fifty-nine of those murdered in the bomb attack called New York home. A total of 189 Americans perished over Lockerbie. And as we will soon commemorate two weeks from now, New York City, Shanksville, Pa., and Washington, D.C. witnessed 3,000 men, women, and children slaughtered in the name of Allah firsthand.
Could there be a more twisted form of torture for terror victims’ families then being forced to watch a silk-clad Gadhafi celebrate in their backyard as Islamic jihadists worldwide snicker?
A backlash against Moammar’s Great Adventure is building. It’s better late than never. “I want him barred from New Jersey,” thundered Democrat Rep. John Adler.
Englewood Mayor Michael Wildes stated the obvious: “This man embraced a convicted terrorist and is, at his core, a financier of terrorism himself.”
Which begs the question: Why allow him to set foot on U.S. soil at all? Entry into this country is a privilege, not a right. Yes, America is party to an agreement with the United Nations to issue visas to foreign leaders participating in U.N. General Assembly meetings. But those visas are not absolute entitlements.
Ronald Reagan’s Secretary of State George Schulz denied entry to Palestine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat in 1988 over his jihadi ties. Schulz drew the line despite global outrage from Arafat’s enablers. And Heritage Foundation analyst Nile Gardiner points out that under Article IV of the 1947 agreement, approved by the UN General Assembly, “the United States retains full control and authority over the entry of persons or property into the territory of the United States and the conditions under which persons may remain or reside there.”
Gadhafi feigned the renunciation of terrorism during the Bush years while pursuing weapons purchases from Iran, chemical warfare stockpiles, and almost certain jihadi underwriting activities. In Italy last week, the stubbornly un-rehabilitated Libyan dictator blamed American “arrogance and disdain” for generating “the terrorism which they now suffer.”
Barack Obama promised not to deliver another four years of Bush policies. The Bush State Department granted visas to America-bashing autocrats Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad But instead of bringing an end to the dictator welcome wagon, Obama’s feckless bureacrats at Foggy Bottom are scurrying to accommodate Gadhafi’s camping trip while respecting the “raw sensitivities” of the Lockerbie victims’ families.
Cape May, New Jersey resident Susan Cohen, whose 20-year-old daughter died over Lockerbie, cut through the diplomatic bull: “This is what happens when you have the path of appeasement,” she told the press this week.
It is a path paved with blood, tears, lies, and craven obeisance to “world opinion” at the expense of American innocents.

Too bad this will fall on deaf ears for the party of the compassionate. GOP candidates need to place this one in the BOHICA files for 2010 and 2012.
More phony, posturing words from another one of the dangerous, America-hating socialists who ultimatley are directly resposible for this disgusting situation.
…ultimately….
I will contact the State Department while fully knowing they will do what they and President Hussein Obama wish to do. The
Gadhafi/Abdel Baset al-Megrahi/Gordon Brown/Scotland Compassion and now this insult to the families of the dead fits nicely with the Left’s contempt for us doesn’t it?
Oh well important people do not fly commercial do they? But then New Jerseyites did vote for Hussein Obama didn’t they?
One more reason to get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.
But, but, but, it’s Hope and Change.
this message brought to you by….
Dumba$$ Voters 08′
I wouldn’t be surprised if they told you that this was theraputic to the families by having them confront their tragedy so they can move on, while this will give America a chance to show the world we don’t hold a grudge. The state department is filled to the brim with appeasement liberals. Now that they have an appeasement President they are as happy as can be.
Back in the real world, this is all being watched by terrorist and thugs around the world to see how this plays out. We have had the Obama administration tested by NoKo with the missle strikes and this administration did some hand wringing, they have been tested by Iran over the elections and stood by, this administration backed a thug with aspirations to be like Hugo in Honduras, even the Russians have tested this administration to a point. In the military this is known as proding the defenses to check for weaknesses and I fear what the enemy has seen.
As a member of the Security Council, and having a “veto”, we need to stay in the U.N., but that doesn’t mean it needs to stay in NYC. Get it out and put it somewhere else…perhaps the Hague. Personally, Pitcairn Island would be nice, or several hundred miles up the Amazon. In both places they can moan and complain all they want, but no-one will pay attention to them. Give Gadhafi a one day visa…in, give his speech, and out, back home.
These parasites will continue to come out of the woodwork as long as they know they have an ally in the White House administration. Bush missed this truth as well, yammering on about Islam and Christianity and their shared “god”. America has become to p.c. to deal with the most serious issues of our time.
Call a big media day at the UN – then light it off. Two-fers man!

Madam Secretary
This Mr. Gadhafi of Libya setting up his tent in Englewood, New Jersey is a horrible insult to the families of the Pan American Flight 103. New York City is the home of the United Nations and there are plenty of hotel rooms-you could find him at least one.
All this country was shocked by the silly “compassion” argument releasing Abdel Baset al-Megrahi. How many more insults do the families of the Lockerbie bombing need to go through? Please Keep Gadhafi out of New Jersey.
It has been awhile since I have heard that-and timely as ever.
The UN- a product of bad movies and worse politics.
There is only one word I can think of to describe the Obama administration as well as the governments of Scotland and Britain. They are cruel.
zero might even have him over for some hotdogs, to discuss ways to destroy this country.
Let’s all pipe down, be quiet and let the jerk land his plane on US soil.
The moment his feet touch the tarmac, let’s surround him with a spec-ops command counter terror squad, and have the FBI arrest him.
Put him on trial for terrorism charges.
See how the “international community” likes that, since many of them advocate the same for President Bush, VP Cheney, and Sec. Rumsfeld.
Ga-daffy is a real criminal.
Please, now it’s Pres Bush’s fault because he established a precedent with Hugo Chavez and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? I don’t think so.
We can allow Moammar Gadhafi to speak at the UN and limit his travels within the US. Eventhough Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was allowed to speak at the UN he had to get special permission to travel up to Columbia University to speak.
Moammar Gadhafi should be limited to travel within a confined space near the UN. Not to New Jersy. Not to any other Burrough.
This country has lost its mojo when dealing with vermin like Gadhafi.
We can’t get rid of the vermin that are elected to lead us, how can we expect that a terrorist be dealt with correctly by a country lost in liberalism.
Pipe dream. Wrong administration in charge. For such a time as this, we need Ronnie Ray Gun.
The dicktators of the world are really enjoying themselves right now, thanks to Obama’s appeasement attitude. We are being played by all of them.
I see that there is some question as to whether the terrorist al-Megrahi has three months to live. Someone needs to MAKE SURE that is the case. If he is still alive in 3 months, his warranty expires and he can be “scrapped”.
FIFY
Happy –
Are you suggesting a Cash for Terrorists program?
Is anyone surprised?
The Obama administration wants to dilute remembrance of 9/11 in order to promote his civilian volunteer army and pacify his jihadist terrorist friends.
Actually, I wonder why he didn’t pick 12/7 (Pearl Harbor Day) since all of the old WWII vets and their spouses are dying off in vast numbers and there’s few left to complain.
Then there is the Obama administration’s State Department which is set to withhold millions from Honduras for over-throwing a leftist, dictator-bent President – an ouster ordered by the country’s Supreme Court and supported by their legislature. Because this overthrow did not support the communist/socialist type government that Obama is so enamored of, they are condemning the Honduran’s sovereign right.
Gadhafi’s invite is just another string of Obama type “in your face” actions against our American way of life and specifically anything that appears captialistic or conservative in nature.
This isn’t his first insult nor will it be his last.
I am sure there are some patriotic Americans who are in the “Construction Business” in New Jersey, who would be perfect to contract to do this work.
Ha! Good one! Someone needs to tatoo “clunker” on his forehead. And an expiration date.

Does the White House have a tattoo artist in residence? He’d be busier than a one-armed paper hanger.
The Islamic culture values strength and despises weakness. Compromise, appeasement, backing down… these behaviors encourage aggression in the Islamic world. Obama must know this. It’s almost as if he is inviting an Islamic push into our culture, or a possible attack.
I’m surprised obama hasn’t invited him to stay in the Lincoln bedroom.
Too bad gadhafi wasn’t in that room when the cruise missle Reagan had addressed to him arrived.
truer words have never been spoken.
Now, now folks, I’m sure the I-Won is as upset as the rest of us about the big homecoming party Ga-Daffy threw for that terrorist. And I’m sure that our illustrious leader has already sent a strongly worded letter to the Libyan government spelling out our outrage. I’m sure it won’t happen again. /sarc
I’ve gone from being embarrassed to frightened of what this administration is bringing down on us.

Hopefully you are not saying those of us in NJ are deserving of this scumbag’s visit?
Don’t paint the state with a broad brush because the urban areas next to Philly and NYC are overwhelmingly liberal. Just like the rest of the country, once you get outside the welfare bands – its majority Red not Blue – go look at an election results map based on county. Our county, Morris, was Red again last election (yeah we held our nose and voted McCain)
I found the new location for the UN.
4 degress 40′ 18.97″ N

What do you think?
…but we want other countries to like us. For 8 years, the whole world hated us. Now we must bow before kings, kiss the rings of princes, beg the forgiveness of sworn enemies, and beat back the evils of capitalism so that at the end of the day, other countries will like us.
As a result, we will be expected to bow before kings, kiss rings, beg and destroy capitalism — and they will still hate us – and fear us not!
They need a very big crisis to put the nail in our coffin. An attack would work wonders for them. Martial law anyone? They want an attack. There can be no other explanation for the incredibly stupid way they are “leading” the country! If we are attacked, the Obama administration will be completely responsible for allowing it to happen.
I live in Minnesota, the home of Al Freaky Franken. And I too am getting tired of being accused of living in a blue state and therefore we are all stupid and I am partly to blame for Obama being our POTUS. It is definitely the larger cities that carry the most weight in the vote. They are usually democrat because that is where the welfare recipients congregate and live for the most part. We have 4 very large cities (Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington and Duluth), plus the old iron range which is completely union-crazy. Pretty hard to be a red state under those circumstances. But I want people to stop painting us with such a broad brush. And I will try to lay off California too. There are good people out there. Most of them are leaving, but there are still a few left.
This PC version of America sucked from the get go.
I know I’ve heard this same sentiment somewhere before. Oh, right – Obama’s mouth.
Ah yes, the “purple mountain majesty” of Obama’s mouth. What a great orator. My moonbat brother was raving about Obama’s great orator skills and I said, “Yeah, he was great until his teleprompter broke. Now he can’t string two sentences together.” My brother said, “Are you kidding me? He is brilliant! He is the best speaker I have ever heard.” I just smiled and asked him if he wanted another glass of kool aid. I love my brother, but I can’t stand him.

for him? Absolutely. Speaking for myself, mind you.
Heh! Now that the release is done, they let us know that the authorities in Scotland have been deceived?
Score another huge point for deception, which is the foremost ploy of our enemies.
Tiberius: Oh, yes, I am a true moralist, and stern as any Cato. Fate chose me to govern swine, in my old age, I have become a swineherd.
I’ll go buy a couple packages of all-pork hot dogs and go have a wiener roast with him.
Maybe I’ll invite that other muslim wiener, Obama.
‘wiener roast’–LOL
tre, are you a Missourian?
It’s Hi Hi Hee in the Field Artillery?
There’s no way they’re going to deny this POS a visa. Not after a high level senate delegation hung out at Gadhafi’s ranch two weeks ago and offered him non-lethal defense weapons.
Mookie, the state department issues visa, not republican senators that you seem so egear to blame everything on.
Nice try. I’m not blaming the republican senators for anything. They didn’t go there on their own accord. But do you really think the state department is going to dent him a visa to come here after we offered to sell him weapons? “Listen Mommar, you can’t come to the United States. You’re a terrorist thug and your presence would be an insult to the families of the people lost in Lockerbie. Please accept these weapons as a consolation prize.”
Mookie, if obama had testicals, he would deny the visa anyway. Based on the terrorists actions AFTER the visit you claim ties his hands.
mookie, have the weapons been delivered????
NO
So they don’t have to be. Again that would require testicals.
He should deny the visa. Absolutely. But like you said, that would require testicles he doesn’t have. The government never should have normalized relations with this thug in the first place.
Hello. We host the UN, which is sovereign territory. As reprehensible as Gadhafi is, we cannot deny him safe passage to it. I was born and raised in NJ, so I’d rather not see him stay there, but Nadler is just an opportunistic clown and should keep out of the debate.
True of alot of countries.
Born in Coffeyville, Kansas. Raised in northeastern Oklahoma. I guess that makes me a “Jay Okie”.
But, I’m sure you know, Rush Limbaugh is a “Show Me.”
Yeah, Rush is from Cape Girardeau.
What’s with the tent! Just another example of of the gall of foreigners to bring their own culture to our country and stick in our faces. This is the United States and we don’t live in tents. If he has to come here, which makes me want to vomit, put him in a hotel with a guard, and next to his meeting. Tell him to stick his tent and Bedouin culture where the moon don’t shine.
Perhaps Barry will let Moammar pitch his tent on the White House’s south lawn, drink a non-alcohol beer with him, and have his wife pump some iron and share fashion tips with Gadhafi’s female bodyguards. If he sticks around long enough, they can serve soup together at a D.C. shelter on the “Day of Service” to show 9/11 really was all America’s fault.
Make the deal, take the money, deliver junk.
Does Englewood have a hazardous waste site? Let him pitch there.
Just one more reason to:
1. Get the UN out of the US.
2. Get the US out of the UN.
And the gall of our own anti-american liberal multiculturists to welcome and encourage it.
There is more news coming out about the deal:
if zero was confronted with this question, of course he would say he cares about all victims of tragedy.
he would then step on or over anyone that slows his agenda. he defines himself with his actions, not his words.
If this tyrant is allowed to pitch his tent, how appropriate would it be to have him saluted by the Air Force, by having an F-111 circle overhead at a low altitude, bombay doors open? (Of course, someone would have to video him running away, screaming like a little girl, as he poops his pants!)
Ah, yes…good times…good times!
Come on people do you really expect anything to change? Our President is best friends with Terrorist Bombers that have killed Americans(Weather Underground)and surrounded himself with the like.He probably sympathizes with Gadhafi, that’s why he hugs Bill Ayers when they greet each other.
Didn’t The One some point “in his youth,” travel to Libya with Rev. Wright, and assorted Black Muslim leaders to meet with Gadhafi?
What would the govt do if NJ’s citizens had a giant sit in/tea party in the neighbor hood so K Daffy couldn’t get to the house, just fill up the entire road. I would volunteer if I was in Jersey. Yes I know this would probably be illegal but just sayin…
And I was also wondering why Chap and lgm are not commenting. Nothing to say? There are many disgusting things like this that “The Negative 1” has done and have been discussed on this board and we hear nary a peep from them. Chap(not including lgm), I know you are a bright person but I guess even you can’t make and excuse for this kind of garbage happening. What I don’t think you see is that it seems like every day there is something else tyrannical that Hussein does…So maybe something is wrong with his liberal/Marxist thinking…just maybe? Why just today we hear that Bambi now wants to get control of the internet(lock out private access) in case of an “emergency”. What if Georgie had tried this…OMG!!!
He is my President but he is NOT my King!!
If he must live in a tent, he must ride a camel to the U.N. Preferably, he’d also have to ride a camel across the Atlantic. Even better: no visa.
Come on folks. By now you should know the CFR filled State Department thinks everyone is good inside.
Most of you Christian moral types think men’s hearts are evil. You’re never going to make it in the New Order of the Ages.
I bet most of you are clinging to your religion, and weapons.
Globalists want both of those.
Once a terrorist always a terrorist. And I don’t freakin’ care if he has prostate cancer. Was he even “dying?” Perhaps, Scotland and the UK decided just to go with it since cancer survival rates are already so poor.
It’s interesting how humans like to bend over in multiple shapes and contortions to see the good in its species it often ignores the plainly obvious moral: People don’t change. People can “feign” qualities and characteristics to convince us who they actually aren’t. And we often believe them. In our personal, professional, and voting lives.
Who comes out looking like a genius? The Scottish? The British? Or the Libyans?
Just admit it, Gordon Brown: you and your Scottish accomplices got played. And you still don’t see it.
You will though- when your government finally goes down in the last pains of death and you’re voted out of office.
Happy:
I thoroughly enjoy your postings but I also think you have a serious blind spot like most of us… your brother.
I want to ask a serious question (emotion and family bonds aside): why do you put up with your brother? He obviously drives you crazy and brings nothing but constant irritation.
My younger sister is a liberal. I’ve been estranged from her for years… and it wasn’t because she’s a loon. It was because she was an abusive wench to my parents and I. My mother has accepted her “back into the fold” because she gave birth and is determined for me to see her “new positives.” Um, no. I don’t have relationships with the undead or toxic blood suckers like my sister.
I was determined, once I reached adulthood, never to let my family ever rule my life again. My mother was a very controlling person as I grew up and my sister equally so. I love my mother but I won’t put up with enabling behaviors. Politically, socially, and emotionally speaking. This is the same woman who has long-standing grievances and estrangements with her own siblings she can’t resolve.
Every time I hear another right-thinking person say how much they love a crazy liberal sibling (not the ones that are down to earth and more sane) and these people have access to their lives I just feel sad. I know we all make our own choices but if you have toxic family or friends who make your life even more troubling than it needs to be, you let them go.
I am free of my sister. I will not participate in forced family “reunifications” by my mother. I will not have to deal with her until my parents die. It’s disheartening to have to say this and I’m not looking forward to it when it happens.
You probably think me heartless but I wouldn’t be here if I continued such toxic relationships as the one I had with my sister. While I miss having a close, sister relationship, I don’t miss the drama and emotional abuse.
The reason we are letting this sub-creature in is because his victims do not count in the eyes of the international community. I mean if we don’t honor the victims, no one else will. The focus of our government is groveling before the world community. Appeasement doesn’t quite say it.
Someone once speculated what would happen if terrorists (presumably by accident, of course), wiped out the government of, say, Cuba. The effect would be devastating to the Left. They simply would not know what to do. They would not know how to spin it. It would be psychologically crushing. Well, one day the Islamites will attack the Left, that is certain, but we will likely be defeated well before then as our callousness and indifference to the fate of our own people demonstrates.
That is bitterly clinging there Leatherneck: Bitterly-from Bitter as in Bitter MamaBama.
But I hear Colonel Zit from Zat has given up on his camping trip to New Jersey. The State Department has found him a room in New York. Hopefully it is on Rikers Island but they did not say.
AN.,
At lunch today, I watched Fox news, and some lady from Jersey was very upset about Col. Zit from Zat camping out.
I bet the State Department watched also, and raced to change plans for the Col. before someone from Jersey did something.
Let’s also recall the New York Times role as a Qadafi enabler. The editor of the New York Times invited Qadafi to write a huge oped with banner headlines and sweet bio for the prime space in the New York Times oped page. This is the same New York Times which only weeks earlier had denied John McCain’s request to write an oped in the Times. Qadafi penned an oped calling for the end of the State of Israel and its replacement with what Qadafi called a “Palestinian state” in which Jews could live just as happily as they live in other Arab states. For its biographical description of Qadafi, The Times wrote only: “Muamar Qadafi is the president of Libya.” I called the oped page editor and complained and I was told that “we give access to controversial ideas”. When I asked if the Times oped page would then allow McCain to write an oped, the person I talked to became indignant and ended the conversation. Clark Hoyt, the public editor, thought that it was appropriate for Qadafi to write for the Times although he thought that McCain, albeit with major editing by the Times, ought to be allowed to do an oped piece also. I had to recall that this is the same New York Times that allowed one of the participants on the 1972 murder of Israeli athletes in the olympics to write an oped. That oped was published in 1973 in the Times oped page. I looked it up. The Times can’t deny it.
