Colorado Springs welcomes homes the troops
Thousands of people in Colorado Springs turned out this morning for the Red, White & Brave parade to welcome home the troops. The Colorado Springs Gazette put the crowd estimate at 45,000 downtown.
It was a privilege to be among the throngs and throngs shouting “THANK YOU!” as our men and women in uniform marched with returning units. God bless them all.

Wow. That looks awesome.
I’ve really got to get out of NJ…maybe find a home in America somewhere.
Colorado is a beautiful state (just got back from there myself), and Colorado Springs obviously knows how to thank their vets.
Awesome to see! Glad also the CodePinkos were not present!
I lived in Colorado for about 8 years & loved it. That was 10 years ago. Now it seems to have become very liberal (& also very expensive). If this is not the case, someone tell me, I’d gladly go back.
I am happy to see see post. Nice to know it is not ALL commie-pinko. Good for the folks who attended this event.
Very good pics. Thank you, and thank the troops.
Yet another of the endless examples of how, unlike our cultural elites in government and media, the vast majority of Americans continue to be as patriotic as ever.
Beautiful. Awesome. Stirring. that makes my day.
Beautiful, in every way. Thanks for sharing these with us.
And I echo others in saying a hearty Thank you! to our men and women in uniform.
It’s a great day to be an American, in Colorado Springs. Welcome home, young men and women.
Thank God for a GREAT story about great Americans.
Colorado is still by far mostly conservative.
The dems did an ‘obama’ type job on some areas, leaking out from Boulder like an old waste dump.
We will take our great state back soon, like in 2010. Help us stop illegals from voting.
Remember, Colorado is still by far mostly conservative, they just didn’t (wouldn’t) vote for McCain and even more libs were voted in.
Check in here often if you can.
here too.
Thanks for sharing Michelle! It is great to see the folks in the Colorado Springs area still get it even though they have been heavily invaded by those fleeing the People’s Republic of Kalifornia. When stationed at Peterson AFB from 1998 to 2001 we watched them build over 600,000 new homes in the area. I do miss the wonderful view of the Front Range and Pike’s Peak. Welcome home to the troops at Fort Carson!
In about two weeks (Saturday, 12 Sep) Mountain Home, ID will throw their annual Air Force Appreciation Day to honor our Airmen and their families at the local Air Force Base. It will include the largest annual parade in the state and a free barbeque to all comers. Drop on by if you will be about 45 miles east of Boise on I-84 on that date. The folks in fly over country still support our troops and appreciate their sacrifices on our behalf.
God bless our troups!
My SIL was one of those welcomed home. God Bless our Troops, and God Bless the USA!
Wonderful! Looks like an All American Parade! Thank You and Welcome Home!
Very cool!
Good for C. Springs! My home town …
God bless all who were there … troops and civilians!
What a wonderful tribute and so proud that Colorado Springs took the opportunity to hold such a wonderful homecoming for these young men and women. They’ll never forget this outpouring of support. Thank you Lord for bringing them home safe.
Wow – thanks for the report and the pix, Michelle!
Wish I could have been there; I love a parade, especially when it lends the opportunity for folks to show gratitude & give welcome to our amazing servicepeople.
The real America can be found wherever and whenever Americans gather to honor our heroes, Irish!
I don’t care what bho and team tries to do to our Republic, you CAN not stop us American’s from giving our Men and Women who serve our nation, our grateful thanks.
Thanks so much Michelle for this post. God please help our Republic.

Recently, I’ve not felt very good about my birth state of Colorado. It’s been Californicated in recent years. But thank you for restoring my faith in my former home, Michelle! These pictures brought tears to my eyes, and fond memories from years ago when we put on a similar welcome home for the Desert Storm Heroes in Durango, Colorado.
BTW, we didn’t make them march through town, they came through in buses, and were heartily fed at Durango’s VFW.
I was stationed at Carson in the mid 80’s…absolutely loved it. Colorado Springs was growing fast even then.
I lived in Denver in 89-90, and it was being overrun then with illegal aliens. Boulder was the typical liberal bastion, but as was said, it started leaking to other areas.
This gives one hope that Colorado can keep the stinking swamp confined.
I had a chance to visit C Springs several times, years ago. It’s a great town and I’m glad to see that it hasn’t changed, in its affection for the military.
What a beautiful sight! I am truly moved…God bless our troops! (Especially the snipers!)
I do so love living here in Colorado Springs. Although I do think the new Colorado slogan should be “Lose a little liberty with each arriving Californian.”
Wonder how many of the libtards that infest Colorado Springs were doing the fish and foaming at the mouth at the sight of this?
Thank you for the post MM, makes my heart swell with pride to see those brave soldiers that defend our country against the scum of the earth returning home to the appreciation of the towns people. Brings back memories of when I was a young lad and the spirit of America was as high as you could see.
I love my country, The United States of America and I want her back the way she was proud to be her, dignified to be home of the brave and the free.
I WILL NOT SUBMIT!
Heartwarming! God bless our military. God bless the good people who care.
God save America!
Thanks for the Pics M. I love that float!
Thanks for this story. It’s nice to know that people still care about the troops.

Good Job Michelle–great photos, great American Soldiers.

We prayed for a young soldier, his wife, and 2 year old son this morning at church–he is being sent to Iraq soon. One of the church members is a 90+ year old man who was a 16 year old Army soldier at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

Were those A-10 (Warthog) ground attack planes in the photo? Or did some civic minded private pilots do the flyover? The planes did not look like the F-16’s usually used.

Gee….who would’ve thought those two things would seem to be related?!?
C.S. is a beautiful place with many patriotic, friendly, law-abiding people. I live half-way between the Springs and Denver. C.S. is still not very liberal or expensive when compared to Boulder. There are more registered Independents in Colorado than the other parties, so Colorado can swing back to a more red state, if so convinced. I hope all the self-professed Coloradans here, and Ms. Malkin, can help us move that pendulum back in the next election cycle. Our freedom is at stake.
I wished I could have been there. Since moving to C. Springs about a month ago I’ve been hit by allergies (ragweed), unpacking boxes of stuff, and filing claim forms for damaged stuff. No matter who moves my military husband and I, they always seem to break a particular two-tiered, antique table. Sigh….
Now, if someone could just do something about ragweed, I could actually step out of my house without sneezing!!!
