NATIONAL RIGHT TO LIFE MOURNS THE LOSS OF ROBERT SCHINDLER, SR.
WASHINGTON – The National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), the nation’s largest pro-life group, today joined with pro-lifers nationwide in mourning the passing of our dear friend Robert Schindler, Sr., the father of Terri Schindler Schiavo. Mr. Schindler died this morning in St. Petersburg, Florida.
“Bob Schindler was an extraordinary father, husband and friend,” said Wanda Franz, Ph.D., National Right to Life President. “His death is a profound loss for all of us in the pro-life movement. Today, our thoughts and prayers are with his loving wife, Mary and their children, Bobby and Suzanne.”
Despite facing legal setbacks at virtually every turn, the Schindlers, with their children at their side, fought unceasingly to defend the right of their daughter, Terri Schindler Schiavo, to receive food and fluids. Their brave struggle ended on March 31, 2005, when Terri died from a court-ordered withdrawal of nutrition and hydration.
Following Terri’s death, the family began advocating for other medically dependent and disabled patients facing similar circumstances through the Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation.
In 2007, the National Right to Life Educational Trust Fund honored the Schindler family with the Proudly Pro-Life Award for their dedication and public witness to the cause of life.
“In life, Bob, and his wife Mary, never sought the spotlight. They only wished to care for their beloved daughter, Terri. Through their selfless dedication to Terri, they showed the nation and the world what it means when someone says they are ‘pro-life’,” added David N. O’Steen, Ph.D., National Right to Life Executive Director.
The National Right to Life Committee, the nation’s largest pro-life group is a federation of affiliates in all 50 states and 3,000 local chapters nationwide. National Right to Life works through legislation and education to protect those threatened by abortion, infanticide, euthanasia and assisted suicide.

Some of us have not forgotten the vile treatment the Schindler family received at the hands of the bigots in the media.
The unrepentant boor Chris Matthews never apologized.

Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord,
And let perpetual Light shine upon him.
May his Soul
And the Souls of all the Faithful departed
Through the Mercy of God
Rest in peace.
Amen.
May he find rest and his daughter.
The whole situation regarding his daughter hopefully has caused people to get their own wishes in writing.
RIP Mr. Schindler. It still makes me sick that our nation allowed his daughter to be starved and dehydrated to death.
Amen, Zorro.
Give Terri a hug and kiss from me.
My condolences to his family. May he find eternal peace and be reunited with his beloved daughter.
I will!
Maybe this kind of thing will be a lot more commonplace under Obamacare.
RIP, Mr. Schindler. We’ll never forget your fight for Terri’s life.
Bless the Schindler family, again I find you in my prayers.
Thanks for sharing this one with us Michelle. I really appreciate it. As always you are doing a good job! Thank you so much for all that you do. Keep it up!
Visit the website for Terri.
Bob, thank you sir, for your tireless efforts.
And take a minute (or 5 ) to look at this vid I found there.
Amazing man, amazing family. I pray for comfort for the family, and know there is a happy reunion with he and his daughter.
My condolences to the Schindler family. May he and Terri share an eternal peace.
Prayers for the Schindler family. This is how a father should love, and treat, his children.
RIP Mr. Schindler.
How interesting that he will go up while Kennedy goes down as I am sure the Lord will reward the man who fought for LIFE!
In paradisum deducant te Angeli:
in tuo adventu suscipiant te Martyres,
et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Jerusalem.
Chorus Angelorum te suscipiat,
et cum Lazaro quondam paupere aeternam habeas requiem.
Requiescat in pace.
This man should not have had to live through what he lived through.
Matthews is a dog turd and about as smart as one. I can’t believe people even tune into his show….oh wait, they don’t.
I really need to proof read more before I submit, don’t I?
Rest in peace, Mr Schindler. My prayers are with him, and his family.
“And there at the Pearly Gate was Terri…
And with a smile on her face, the only words to come out of her mouth were :
Thank You Dad…”
RIP Mr. Schindler

HI JADED #16. I feel like you do about Teddy Kennedy–I think he served himself a lot better than he served anyone else in this world. At church this morning the 87 year old priest replacing our regular guy said that Teddy was a prophet for good in this life–for the good he did for women yet! Mary Jo and the waitress of sandwich fame were not available for comment. I had to bite my tongue and keep silent.

However, it isn’t up to us to decide who goes up and who goes down after our lives are over here. The Lord decides–and it is only through God’s grace in sending Jesus to take our sins on himself that any of us will be “going up”.
***
The Bible states that the only sin that can not be forgiven is rejecting the Holy Spirit. That is why the Lord seems to not punish many for their sins in this world–He gives us all the chances possible to repent and amend our lives before we die and this chance is lost.

He’s home with Terri now. He is finally at peace.
Would that all fathers love their little girls as much as he loved his…..
“Would that all fathers love their little girls as much as he loved his…..”
And if his daughter’s wishes were to not be kept alive and be allowed to die AND the father was keeping a child alive against that child’s wishes but for the father’s benefit of not having to deal with is dtr’s death, is that than “love”?
Here we go…
God bless Bob Schindler. He was in many ways a much stronger and more Christian man than I could have been in the same situation. I would have sinned by not being patient enough to wait for the Final Judge and Arbiter to mete out justice.
