Client Number 9 sticks his creepy toe back in the water

The New York Post’s Maggie Haberman reports that disgraced former NY Democrat Governor Eliot Spitzer is mulling a return to politics.

Really:

Disgraced former Gov. Eliot Spitzer has been privately talking with friends about a possible comeback, and is considering a run for statewide office next year, several sources told The Post.

Less than 18 months after he left Albany in a prostitution scandal, Spitzer has held informal discussions in recent weeks about the possibility of making a bid for state comptroller or the US Senate seat currently held by Kirsten Gillibrand, sources said.

The hooker-happy Democrat has also discussed his own halfway-decent poll numbers in recent surveys, which have shown him more popular than Gov. Paterson, whose own numbers have tanked.

He says he won’t drag his family through another grueling public ordeal.

Unless, of course, his power-happy enabler of a wife approves.

There’s a Democratic talking head who was caught in a prostitution scandal, and he remains very popular on TV, especially on FoxNews. Initials are BB. Just ’cause you cheat on your wife with a hooker, doesn’t seem to mean your public life is over.

I suppose it will be up to the people of the State of New York. The NFL and the owner of the Philadelphia Eagles had to make a similar decision a short while ago.

    These things happen.

The point here is his lack of embarassment and his willingness to drag his family through this issue again. No one disputes his right to to so.

What bothers me is the chief law enforcement officer of the state abused his office to go after his poitical enemies while he was breaking the law himself. This is intolerable.

I’d rather Patterson remained governor. I’d rather a random name was picked from the telephone book to be governor. Spitzer should remain in exile.

So what’s the problem with Spitzer coming back and resuming his political career? Conservatives need to get over themselves about sex.

I’d love to see Spitzer run for US Senate or NY Governor. As a Conservative, I want to see Democrats prove themselves as the do as I say, not as I do party and re-elect a corruptocrat like Spitzer.

Spitzer won by a large margin in NY and got a lot of liberal Republicans to vote for him. This could be the first test to see if the people have really changed.

Would New Yorkers elect this man for any office? I hope not, but I have very little faith in my fellow New Yorkers. Particularly when our local state reps have been office for 30+ years.

Spitzer broke more laws as New York’s chief law enforcement official than he did patronizing overpriced escort agencies. For example, after becoming governor, he admitted, upon signing an amendment to the penal code, that he had targeted two defendants for four years based on the unamended law that he knew was unconstitutionally vague.

    rocketman,
It seems that lying, narcissistic, back-stabbing, cheats are endemic in positions of leadership in this country. We see it in our government, business, home owners associations, and even many Churches. Has it always been this way? To be sure, positions of high office have always been targets of jerks and a$$holes, but has it always been this pervasive and accepted by our society? I can’t tell you how many times that I’ve worked in organizations where the leadership is just evil. At least in software engineering, my experience working in several organizations has jaded my feelings of loyalty to employers. Most companies’ focus on short term results make them blind to how their decisions affect them in the long term. The employer/employee relationship has eroded to the point that employees are seen as expendable assets, and employees just trade work hours for money. I think we’re seeing the same paradigm being played out between elected representatives and their constituents.

    Great idea, Life…

“Less irritating than that painful rectal itch.”
